Chapter 711: Current Status
They were strolling in the garden when Huang Zhishu hurried over. She urgently said to Elder Bai, “Father, Jingrou is in trouble!”
Bai Chongshan raised his eyebrows. “What happened to her?”
Huang Zhishu glanced at Fang Xinxin. “Jingrou accidentally offended the Jiao Yang Gaming Company, which is under the management of the Jiao Yang Finance Group that Xinxin owns. Now, she’s being detained in the police station!”
A hint of surprise flashed past Bai Chongshan’s eyes. “The Jiao Yang Finance Group that has been achieving all sorts of accomplishments in the past two years belongs to Fang Xinxin?”
“Yes,” Fang Xinxin was the one who responded.
“I didn’t expect my granddaughter-in-law to be this capable!” Elder Bai was especially pleased and praised her.
He then shot Huang Zhishu with an unhappy look. “Previously, you even hinted to me that Xinxin’s identity isn’t as valuable as Bai Jingrou’s, as the Long Group’s only successor. I’m sure you didn’t expect Xinxin to be this capable. With the Jiao Yang Finance Group’s current performance, it’s inevitable that it will one day outdo the Long Group.”

He suddenly appeared to have thought of something. “I forgot. Xinxin already owns ten percent of the Long Group’s shares. Right now, Xinxin can already rely on her own ability to compete with the Long Group. You say, as an elder, why are you so short-sighted? You insist on comparing your adopted daughter with my granddaughter-in-law. Your adopted daughter is in no way as outstanding as Xinxin.”
Huang Zhishu’s expression was especially poor. It would have been fine if Jingrou was her adopted daughter, but she was actually her birth daughter!
Her birth daughter was being thoroughly insulted by this damned old man but she was helpless against it. “Yes, yes. But no matter what, Jingrou is still the Bai family’s adopted daughter! Father, you can’t just leave Jingrou to remain detained in the police station!”
“What exactly did she do? How long will she be detained for?” Elder Bai had no choice but to ask.
“She accidentally offended Xinxin.” Huang Zhishu spoke as though to minimize the severity of the matter.
Fang Xinxin frowned. “What do you mean by ‘accidentally’? She intentionally caused trouble for me, alright?” She then repeated the whole event to the Elder.
Elder Bai’s expression was stern as he reprimanded Huang Zhishu. “Hasn’t Jingrou always known to stay within her boundaries? Xinxin is Madam Bai, yet she still dared to cause trouble at Jiao Yang Gaming Company. In that case, let her remain in the police station for a few days to reflect on her mistakes.”
“But, Father… Jingrou has always been pampered. How would she be able to endure this…” Huang Zhishu was flustered.
“Since she made a mistake, she has to take responsibility for it. There’s nothing left for you to say!” Elder Bai appeared resolute to stick by his decision.
Huang Zhishu backed away obediently. She glanced secretly at Fang Xinxin and a hint of viciousness flashed past her eyes.
This cheap whore! It was one matter that she had occupied her daughter’s position as Madam Bai. To think that she even caused her outstanding daughter to be detained. She was angered to death!
Fang Xinxin supported Elder Bai back to his room to rest and then sat down in the backyard to water the sunset.
The sun was nearing the horizon and it painted the sky with its colours. The red, orange and green weaved in between each other… and the late afternoon sky appeared just like an illusion. It was difficult to take one’s eyes away from this beautiful sight!
Bai Chenxi stood behind Fang Xinxin and watched as the stunning sunset colours amplified her stunning figure. Her beauty was out of this world!
His heart could not help but skip a beat.
This woman’s appearance truly left him astonished.
Bai Chenxi saw that there wasn’t anyone else around. He approached her. “Xinxin.”
She glanced at him coldly. “Address me as Madam Bai.”
“Xinxin, we grew up together. We’re childhood friends…”
She could not be bothered with his words and quickly turned to leave. He rushed to stop her. “Listen to me…”
