Chapter 415: Coming together to climb a mountain

Eldrian found it funny that it was such a normal thing, such a basic classification. It wasn't a small thing as each Tier up meant the amount of mana increases as does the way in which it is used. Becoming more and more complicated.
Yet, if one wanted, one could use a Tier 1 skill or spell throughout. One just needed to know how to improve the skill or spell. It was in fact what happened with many spells and skills.
Follow-up skills/spells were available in the next Tier and most people Eldrian realized trained them from the start. He too had done so until now since the spells were indeed new spells. Yet, they needn't be.
Now he realized that the smarter way was instead of learning the new spell/skill module and mana flow. To rather figure out a path to the same result. 'Though, I most likely won't have time for that even if it will be far better.'
Eldrian immediately realized the problem with this, finding himself in a dilemma which he quickly resolved. 'Speed is more important!'
He continued training for around 3 hours, after which he was absolutely soaked and quite a number of people had come to watch him train.
It was a sight to behold, and many of the senior combat specialists in Miracle gained inspiration from his training. Attempting the same slow movement training and failing miserably. Quickly coming to the realization that they relied on their momentum and not their control to execute their moves.
Taking a shower, Eldrian hoped back onto his PC and was shocked to see his post trending on the top. The reason for this, the first Tier 4 player had commented and agreed with what Eldrian had said.
[While I didn't understand what this guy was getting at, at first. I realized it after thinking for a bit. Once you reach Tier 4 there is no more, execute spells X number of times to Tier up. There was only 1 simple message.]
[Learn to cast a Tier 5 spell.]
[At first, I had laughed, believing this was going to be super easy seeing how easy it is to learn spells. All we need to do is memorize them, right…… Not this time. I did that, and it wasn't easy. Trust me, Tier 5 spells are no joke. Here take a look.]
This part of the comment was a large part of why everyone was going so crazy. Most people hadn't even managed to gain access to Tier 4 spells, yet here the first player to reach Tier 4 shared a Tier 5 one.
Eldrian too had never seen a Tier 5 spell module and looked on curiously. Only for his face to twist.
'He memorized that? Does he have some kind of photographic memory?' Eldrian (and so too all those that saw it) had thought. Where Tier 2 spells had anywhere between 10 and 30 nodes and pathways each, and Tier 3 10 more than that. This Tier 5 had close to a hundred nodes and probably around 300 pathways.
Yet, the most shocking thing was that the spell module wasn't a picture. It was a GIF. With only some of the pathways and nodes active at a time, indicated by them shining in the elemental color of the spell.
The rest were a light gray, and in total there were 5 combinations to this 1 spell. With 2 requiring nearly all the nodes and over half the pathways.
[When I managed to learn the spell module, which is actually 5 different spell modules, I found that I not only needed to learn how to send my mana into it. Which I have no clue how to do. I also need to figure out which form to let the spell take first. Even with my mentor sharing this, I am still left clueless.]
[Does the author of this post possibly have a solution for me?]
Naturally, there was a flood of comments regarding this one. With the game down everyone was either on here in their virtual home, or asleep. Most chose to enter their virtual home. (Yes, they were immediately opened again as they are not linked with one another and rather individual parts)
Eldrian thought on it for a bit and realized something. So he replied, [Can you share the spell this is as well as all versions of the same type of spell to Tier 1?]
His reply quickly confused everyone, and it took a few minutes for Eldrian to receive a reply. Unfortunately, the guy didn't have them, but he said he would try to get them once the game was active again.
Even so, Eldrian pondered for a bit. He realized that the nodes and pathways were too many for it to just be an accumulation of the Tiers. The natives/NPCs would also have easily realized if it was something so simple.
'I recall Dave saying that they controlled their spells by changing the spell module. I assume this is what he meant, by switching between the different combinations you would indeed gain some control. But it won't be anywhere near to a smooth experience.
So Eldrian also asked the player to try and ignore all but the core combination. Unfortunately, from just looking at the spell module Eldrian couldn't say which it was. In fact, he got dizzy when trying to memorize it. Hopefully the player's mentor could help him with that.
The rest of the day Eldrian chatted in the comments about his experiences and tried to help some players who seemed to have touched upon something. For the first time, his post really made the headline and stayed there.
In fact, some players took it upon themselves to make an entire thread just regarding this post. Even making a chat group for players to share their experiences as everyone realized that while even Tier 4 was still a ways of for most, the mountain that was Tier 5 was seemingly not something they could climb alone.
With this, some of the guilds also started to try and recruit people in the chat room. Only to be quickly kicked and banned by those who had taken it upon themselves to make the rooms.
They had a simple rule: [A place for sharing and helping each other, no BS!]
Eldrian smiled and took a step back as he saw that everyone was actively pitching. A few players even started making a post where they would share the things they felt rang true. The post was open to everyone to edit, and so they did.
Quickly, a post that could be considered a cheatsheet took form. With many people sharing all the spell modules they had. So the post even developed into a forum of its own inside the forum. Having different pages for different things. Eldrian even found a bunch of interesting things on here after just a few hours.
'So that is how runes work. Interesting……' Eldrian reread the most recent post by one of the gunsmiths. He had decided to share the basics of runesmithing, and it was not a simple topic. Luckily (the player admitted) the system did most of the heavy lifting for them.
But seeing how Tier 5 was a mountain for spells, he assumed it would be the same for crafts and he had no idea how he was supposed to do all that was required to engrave a rune.
'This is more like what it should be.' Eldrian smiled as he realized the players were finally coming together. Whether this would last was unknown, but at least for now, it should help everyone.
