Chapter 891 Thank You for Your Well-Meaning Advice, I Don’t Need It
Yu Xiaoxiao gave her another piece of advice.
After knowing Tang Jiayun for half a month, Tang Jiayun had asked Yu Xiaoxiao more than once if it was true that she was not prettier than Qiao Nan.
Yu Xiaoxiao was a very intelligent person. She would always tell Tang Jiayun that both were beautiful in their own ways.
Everyone had different perspectives in regard to beauty. Yu Xiaoxiao told Tang Jiayun that some people prefer Tang Jiayun’s kind of look. Everyone had heard about the saying ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.
In the end, Yu Xiaoxiao expressed one thing: Regardless of who was prettier between Qiao Nan and Tang Jiayun, the problem was that Qiao Nan was already engaged. Moreover, Qiao Nan seemed to be in a stable relationship with her fiancé from the countryside.
Actually, whether Qiao Nan was pretty or not was meaningless to Tang Jiayun as it would not impact the latter at all.
Of course, Tang Jiayun understood what Yu Xiaoxiao meant. She knew very well that a typical person would admire Qiao Nan more as the latter was slightly fairer than her.
Certainly, regardless of how pretty Qiao Nan’s face was, it was useless because she already belonged to someone else.
Tang Jiayun took issue that Qiao Nan was prettier than her. She was worried that her limelight would be stolen away by Qiao Nan in front of the people that she knew, that those people would prefer to look at Qiao Nan and ignore her.
As long as she was aware of Tang Jiayun’s psychology, it was not that difficult for Qiao Nan to change her relationship with Tang Jiayun.
“Thank you.” Qiao Nan thanked her again. “However, there is no need to do so currently.”
Qiao Nan was very surprised by these words of Yu Xiaoxiao. Everyone had just been admitted to Peking University and had been undergoing military training. She really did not expect Tang Jiayun to be able to get to know so many people during this short period. Furthermore, she was on such good terms with them. She not only knew the chairmen of the various clubs and unions but could also pull strings for social practice arrangements of these clubs when the need arose.
In such a short and limited time span, how did Tang Jiayun manage to do that? She was a social talent!

Qiao Nan could not help taking her hat off Tang Jiayun regarding this. The latter was certainly capable.
Yu Xiaoxiao was stunned. “Qiao Nan, then, why are you still……” Moving out. How could it be so easy to change dormitory?
Yu Xiaoxiao was a little nervous. “Actually, if we have any misunderstanding, we can resolve it internally. Many problems will not be problems after we thrash it out. Why don’t I help you and be the mediator when Tang Jiayun comes back today?”
She could not let Qiao Nan leave. If Qiao Nan went to look for the counselor and request for a change of dormitory, the counselor would certainly ask for the reason. Even if Qiao Nan were to put all the blame on Tang Jiayun, as one of the four dormitory mates, Yu Xiaoxiao was truly afraid that the counselor’s impression of her would worsen.
What if the counselor were to misunderstand that she was a troublesome student who did not know what was good for her? Then, in the coming four years, how could she study well and graduate with outstanding grades and eventually compete for a good job so that she could stay put in the capital?
At this moment, Yu Xiaoxiao was filled with regrets. If she had known that this would happen, when Tang Jiayun ostracized Qiao Nan a few days ago, she should have analyzed the situation properly with Tang Jiayun.
Tang Jiayun knew so many people. She certainly also placed great emphasis on her own studies and grades. She was definitely not willing to let the counselor form the impression that she was domineering and unreasonable.
Qiao Nan took a glance at Yu Xiaoxiao’s hand that was holding on to her. She then patted it gently. “Don’t be so nervous. I’m not changing dormitory. I’ll tell the school clearly that I’m leaving due to personal reasons, and it doesn’t have anything to do with my dormitory mates.”
They had been classmates for half a month. Of course, Qiao Nan could not possibly believe that Yu Xiaoxiao could not bear to part with her or was concerned about her, this dormitory mate. Such was the reality of life.
In her previous life, Chen Jun befriended her because he collaborated with Wang Yang to prevent Zhu Chengqi from acknowledging her as his goddaughter. It was to stop her from getting a big bargain after Zhu Baoguo’s death.
Wang Yang had already schemed against Zhu Baoguo and caused the latter’s death. If Zhu Chengqi acknowledged her as the goddaughter, Wang Yang’s painstaking hard work and effort would really benefit others then.
Chen Jun found a girlfriend in this way. The situation of Yu Xiaoxiao was not unexpected either.
Yu Xiaoxiao was very embarrassed. As she was too emotional, she unknowingly withdrew her hand that was grabbing Qiao Nan’s luggage tightly earlier. “Qiao Nan, I……”
Qiao Nan would tell the school that she was moving out of the dormitory for personal reasons. As such, Yu Xiaoxiao’s desire to hold back Qiao Nan was not reduced. It was completely lost. Regarding the matter that occurred during the military training half a month ago, there was a knot in Yu Xiaoxiao’s heart regardless of whether Qiao Nan was in the wrong.
All four of them were from the same dormitory. Besides Qiao Nan, the remaining three of them had been punished by the counselor to write self-reflection letters. They were also punished by the instructor to do the runs. In other words, Qiao Nan was the sore thumb in this dormitory.
Qiao Nan was no longer going to be around. Yu Xiaoxiao knew that after some time, when the study load was heavier and school activities increased, she would certainly be able to gradually let go of this knot in her heart and forget about these two matters.
However, if she were to continue to be dormitory mates with Qiao Nan and sleep and attend classes with her, at every sight of Qiao Nan, she would be reminded of how she had made a fool of herself when the school term had just commenced.
Qiao Nan could still be a piece of pure and white paper just as when she first started school, but she had already committed so many mistakes. This was simply a nightmare in Yu Xiaoxiao’s student life.
Clearly, she was the model student praised by the teachers in the past. Why did it seem like she was going to drop into the poor students’ group just as she entered college?
Qiao Nan was still smiling. At the sight of that smile, Yu Xiaoxiao not only withdrew her hand but also could not help clenching her fists and placing them by her sides. She was subtly rubbing her hands on the skirt so that she could wipe away the sweat on them.
“See you in the class when we have a chance.” Yu Xiaoxiao was tactful. Qiao Nan carried her luggage of various sizes and left the dormitory without turning back.
The school had only commenced for half a month and she had not spoken more than ten sentences with each of her three dormitory mates. How could they have so much love for one another?
It was not necessary for Yu Xiaoxiao to behave in this way. It was hypocritical.
“Yo, you are finally out. I thought that I needed to go and fetch you. These are all your belongings?” At the sight of the many items in Qiao Nan’s hands, Shi Qing felt glad. Finally, she did not need to live in school anymore.
Shi Qing already sensed that the dormitory mates in college were genuinely different from those in the senior high school.
Official lessons would be commencing tomorrow. In the afternoon today, all the clubs in the school were recruiting new members. Her dormitory mates were inquiring about what was going on, pulling strings and trying to find out one another’s background. Shi Qing was dying of annoyance.
Was it not just registering for a few clubs? Did they need to spend so much effort?
She heard that some of these clubs had entry requirements that were as high as that of Peking University. The higher the number of registrants, the more people the clubs’ chairmen had to eliminate.
Of course, if one could get into these clubs, the social practice scores for the final semester would certainly be higher. In this regard, choosing the type of club was connected to the chances of receiving scholarships.
For the people who wanted to continue to do well in their studies, the nerves in their brains were more than average.
Over the past two days, Shi Qing’s brains had grown twice in size as she was feeling troubled over this. She had also lost a big bunch of hair.
