"You have taken quite a time on your mission, mom," I said, to which she nodded with a painful sigh.
"I have lost many precious moments of rose's and your life," she said with deep regret as she gently kissed rose.
"I hope they will not send you on such a long mission again," Father said, to which she only smiled, seeing that eyes of my father couldn't help but sadden.
Mother's art makes her an extremely precious war asset; with her art, she could move invisibly and be extremely hard to kill unless posses a huge power difference and has something that could counter the empire of mist, which is very rare.
In her year on the mission, she had improved a lot, and even with her powerful sensory ability fused with the rule-bending power wasn't able to figure out her exact level; it is perfectly cloaked with the power of her art.
"Let's not focus on sad things," I said and looked at my sister, who had finally stopped crying. "Rose, do you want to tell mom about your friends and school?" I said to my sister, who nodded before she began to tell us about all the friends she had made and the fun things she had learned in school.
Before I knew it, two hours had passed, and I really did not want to go back to the central command.
"Go, I am not going anywhere for a few days, even if they ordered me to," Mother said, seeing the predicament on my face. "I will try to come back soon," I said, but we all know it was a lie; I could only come back when they told me to.
A minute later, I stepped out of the formation of the command center and walked through its door.
'Where are they?' I asked myself; there were no signs of other program participants. Some of them should have arrived a few seconds ago, but I am seeing none of them, which is a little strange.
"Micheal, come to the table," ordered the Grand commander. I cleared my thoughts and appeared beside their table, only to find all of them looking at me with utter seriousness, and there was something else in their eyes that I couldn't seem to figure out.
"The council had studied your proposal and decided to fund it wholly," said the Grand Commander, shocking the hell out of me.
I thought they would take a day or even a week before they could give me an answer, but they took less than a day.
It made me extremly ecstatic, but that feeling lasted only a second before I controlled my emotion, seeing the council still had to say something.
"We want you to make some changes," said Lord Chalice, "What kind of changes?" I asked, hoping they did not cut the number of participants or the resources.
"We want you to increase the number of participants to a thousand from three hundred, and the council would like the first badge of hundred Grandmasters ready within nine months," said Lady May.
Her words were like a strike of lightning, my body shook from head to toe, and I nearly lost my balance, but they increased it, and that was even worse than decreasing the numbers.
"Council, you want me to create a miracle, and I had said last time, I am not a miracle worker," I said slowly after a minute of silence.
There are deep calculations behind the number three hundred; those three hundred were to be chosen from thousands of Tyrants, each one would have something that I could work with and transform into the powerhouses.
Now they want me to choose one thousand people, which is a lot. I don't think I will be able to find such talented people that are suitable for me to transform into the Grandmasters, and that is within nine months.
If they had given me three years, I would have the complete confidence to accomplish what they told me and would have done so, as I had the plan to add talented Emperors slowly.
"You will be given access to all the resources you need; even Grand Lord class resources and precious artifacts would be at your disposal. Also, we will provide you with the top alchemists, healers, and other personnel, without holding anything back," said Lord Raymond as if he did hear my answer.
"As I had said, council, I am not a miracle worker; the time limit you have provided me is too small," I said, but just as I said that I felt a mountaious gaze on me; only to see lady Angela in her physical body looking at me.
"Grandmaster Micheal, it is not a request but an order. You will do it, and you will try everything to accomplish these orders."
"If you fail, we will not have enough Grandmasters to deal hundreds of Grandmasters the Grimms would release on us," the old woman thundered, suppressing me with just her gaze, which only held her intent.
"How can Grimms have so many Grandmasters? They should not have more than 50% of what they have on the battlefield?" I asked as I got myself under control.
The Grimms have more Grandmaters than us, but 60% to 80% of them are already on the battlefield. The Grandmasters did not grow on trees; even for the Grimms, it was very hard to produce a Grandmaster.
More than 90% of Grimm tribes did not have the Grandmaster in their ranks.
"Can I know what happened to move us to this extreme?" I asked; since I was ordered, I would do it but not before I know the reason; they will have to tell me at least that.
"The Grimms have across something that would help them produce Grandmasters at an extremely accelerated speed; by the end of the year, they will have hundreds of new Grandmasters, and that would be just the beginning," she replied.
These words were shocking but nothing compared to what he said afterward.
"They planned to fill the battlefield with thousands of Grandmasters, and within three years, they will have double the number of Grand Lords than they have now," she informed, and I felt like my whole world had collapsed.
