"Am I not late, am I?" Asked the middle-aged man as he stepped out of the teleportation formation. "You are right on time, lord hunt," I said as I got up to greet him.
He appeared in his real physical body, not in the projection in which most of the council members appeared, given their busy schedules. His physical presence also tells how important this day is, and I hope I will be successful; everything depends on it.
Aside from me, there is a teacher, Grandmaster Charline, Jim, and other important people of the project and their trusted assistants are also present in this watching room, and behind the huge glass in front of us is Connni Graham.
I had chosen her to be the first person to make a breakthrough, and with all the preparation I made throughout, she should not have any problem with her breakthrough.
Still, with all the preparations, I couldn't help but worry. The Grandmaster class is impossible to breach for most people; otherwise, barely hundreds would not appear from hundreds of thousands of Tyrants in every century.
"Yes, that's enough, Neela; you can withdraw the needle and come back," I said. In the huge hall behind the screen, there is Neela beside Connie, whose indented finger had transformed into a needle, through which inserted the serum special to fleshmancers.
Through the meta projection in my left eye, I could see with an injection of Neela's special serum Connie had become completely ready for her breakthrough.
"Connie, you can begin, and best of luck," I said; Connie nodded from her place and closed her eyes, and next second, the huge formation surrounding lit resplendently, and Connie began her breakthrough.
As she initiated her breakthrough, her metaphysic lighted up blindingly, and different colors appeared.
It is every, and each and every part of her became even active, even those that hadn't been used since she was a child, and that is what is happening. The breakthrough in the Grandmaster class is the evolution of life.
Not just one's power advances, but one also gets a century of lifespan and vibrancy that reverses one's age from a few years to decades.
Billions of people longed to reach this stage, but only a few hundred could reach it.
"Grandmaster Micheal, why did you choose Connie Graham? From what I could see, there were few better candidates, especially those with bloodline. They always have better chances of a breakthrough than those with the Inheritantances," asked Lord Hunt.
"I have my reasons," I replied, "But don't worry, I will reveal it to you by the end of the day," I said with a smile.
It is not much a reason but a sort of challenge to myself; to prove how effective my methods are, and Connie is the best example of that.
Twenty-five minutes passed, and all her resources around Connie merged into one and now spread across Connie, seeping inside her.
"The worldly energy had not reacted; it should have reacted by now," said the alchemist beside Hazel. "Stephan, nobody asked for an opinion," Hazel replied before Jim could say anything.
It is not just Stephan who had this question in his mind; nearly everybody has it. The wordly energy should react by now, but it did not.
The breakthrough was considered a failure if the wordly energy did not react in twenty minutes, but that did not affect Connie; there was not even a hint of worry on her face, as everything was going according to plan.
This is not a regular Grandmaster breakthrough; they could not break through into Grandmaster class with their potential. I have made a modification to them, which will make their breakthrough a little different, but the result would be the same.
Then achieving a Grandmaster class.
Ten more minutes passed, and then five and more than half of the resources have consumed by Connie, but there was no sign of worldly energy.
Except for a few people, everybody is considering it a failure seeing how animatedly they are chatting through their soul link.
"Micheal, why don't you stop the breakthrough; it is clearly a failure," said Lord Hunt, finally; "It is not, Lord Hunt," I replied with a smile before turning to Connie.
He opened his mouth to say something but closed it after seeing the expression on my face and instead turned to Connie, watching her intensely and even activating some of his abilities to see any hint.
Another ten minutes passed, and most people had given hope when finally a whisper of words energy appeared around Connie before it began to rapidly filled the hall. The wordly energy is coming at a much faster rate than it would come at a breakthrough of a regular Grandmaster.
"Wordly energy!"
Somebody shouted behind me, but I am not mood to even think who; I have focused my everything on Connie, ready to lend any help through my seed at this critical moment.
A minute passed, and the whole hall filled with thick worldly energy and getting thicker by the second while a humongous amount of energy continued to enter her body.
The energy is so much, and Connie barely got any time to adjust to it; in regular breakthroughs, it takes ten to twenty minutes for worldly energy to reach this thickness, but in her case, it barely takes one and half a minute.
I have taken the measures for such assault, but I could see it is still being extremely painful for Connie. Tears are streaming down her face as she bears the pain with gritted teeth, and regretfully, this is just the beginning.
Things will get worse for her in a few minutes, and she will have to bear it all if she wants to make a successful breakthrough.
"Micheal, the energy seemed too much for it; if it keeps increasing, it will tear her body apart," said Jim a few minutes later, seeing the concentration of energy is increasing by second, and so is the energy funneling into Connie.
"It will not happen; I have made preparations for that," I said, though I did not add that all of it depended on Connie.
If she held on, nothing would happen to her, and she would successfully break into the Grandmaster class. If she did not, then this energy would tear her into pieces, and even I might not be able to stop it.
