The runic formation is exquisite that if I want to create something like it, I would need centuries, if not millennia. If I understood it right, this formation would take the raw elemental energy from the underground source and refine it.
"So, if I step in here," I said and appeared in the center of the formation, and just as I did, I felt the quality and purity of energy change drastically.
"My god!" I explained as I felt pure water elemental energy; it is at least two hundred times purer than the central continent.
This energy is very gentle, but even then, not many people could stand it. One would need to be a Grandmaster to be able to bear such dense water elemental energy; even I am feeling quite uncomfortable in this energy.
I am not an elemental water practioner; if I had been, I would be feeling the most comfortable I had ever felt.
Seeing the structure, my resolve to get this ruin deepened even further. It will help tremendously in the project, not just in a huge amount of resources but also aid the water-elemental practioner; I could name several of my treatments that would work fantastically in such dense energy.
I did not stay under the lake for longer and immediately streamed out a few seconds later; I flew out of the water, and Ashlyn again waiting for me.
I landed on her, and she covered us with her invisible fire; a second later, we flew into the sky at high speed.
I have accomplished what I have come into the mission, and even if I return right now, no one will say anything, and I would have if I had not found this ruin interesting, and this mysterious pilgrimage made me curious.
Three days is not much time, but I will reach it, and as for the real objective of the mission, I think Nero will manage it on his own just fine.
In the months, I realize I am not giving Nero as much as independence he needs. So, I am sending him on this mission; he has to botch the defenses and sensors spread into the ruin; it is a hard mission, but I think he will be able to do it.
He had already found the sensors kept in the turquoise lake and now moving toward the other place where the Grimms had placed these machines are artifacts.
Nero is natural for these kinds of missions, as the signals, these artifacts, and machines released are visible to him. He could see through the spectrum of electrical and magical; these abilities have really made me feel jealous of him.
Four hours passed, and we finally crossed the clear water region and entered the poison river region. Ashlyn had outdone herself; she seep we moved was pretty amazing; if it had been me, it would have taken me more than twelve hours, even after using every bit of speed I had.
The poison river region is just as beautiful as the clear water region but more dangerous than it. The reason for that is a poisonous river that flows around it.
The river is huge and beautiful; its water is so clear that one might want to drink it, but it shouldn't. There are very tiny green crystals floating in clear water, glittering like stars; they are poisonous, so poisonous that the water of some regions is capable of killing the High grandmaster with a single sip.
From the Grimm's chatter, it had happened before; a High Grandmaster Grimm died after drinking the water.
The river covers the whole region and makes 90% of flora and fauna here poisonous in nature. Interestingly, this is the region that is most densely populated by both humans and Grimms and provides nearly 35% of all the resources produced in the ruin.
It is not surprising that the poison masters require a huge amount of resources of poisonous nature, and this region is a natural field of it.
Even though they lose a huge number of human slaves in this region every year, they still concentrate nearly half of the humans here.
"Slow down a little," I said to Ashlyn as we reached the huge herbal field, the biggest I have ever seen in this ruin. It is beside the city, and one could see tens of thousands of humans working in the field, from doing seeding to harvesting the resources.
The humans here are the most pitiful; they not only have to live in constant supression of Grimms but also harvest dangerous resources.
I could already see the tens of resources that could kill one if handled wrong. Some of them give quite a painful death.
As Ashlyn slowed down, I sent thousands of investigative seeds down; most of them went for the humans, but a hundred some went for the Grimm Monsters. A minute later, the meta-physical scans of thousands of people appeared in front of me.
Hun!
As the scans appeared, I couldn't help but become surprised; they were more surprising than the humans in the clear water region.
Every human has elemental affinity; nearly 60% of affinities are hybrid of poison and water elemental. This region has high water elemental energy as the clear water region, but it also has just as dense poison elemental energy, and people tend to focus on that, and so are the human bodies.
As 35% of affinities are poison elemental in nature and the rest 5% have sole, water elemental affinities.
I am surprised because a large number of affinities here border on constitutions. Just a small advancement, and they will transform into a constitution. I am confident that little bit of work and resources, I could transform their affinities into the constitutions.
In thousands of people here, I saw not a single human with a constitution. If I am not wrong, then all those with the constitution are were to sent to the fountain for the pilgrimage.
I did not stay more than a few minutes after collecting the scans; I flew away. Two hours later, I stopped by another huge field, collected the scan samples, and continued with my journey.
The fountain is at the boundary connecting all five regions, and with speed, Ashlyn is taking me, I will be able to reach there before the time. This is great news, as I don't want to be late and miss anything.
Ashlyn and I continued till the late night before we landed deep in the poisonous forest for the rest. Though we are not tired, this is likely, the only time I might get a chance to rest, and I want to be rested to deal with any surprises that might come my way.
I looked at Nero, who was moving from one artifact to another, and I very much wanted to stop him and ask him to rest, but I did not. Since I have decided to give him independence, I will give it to him and will not interfere unless he takes a huge risk as last time.
