Chapter 459: Sovereign
"No homo, but I am going to t-bag the Celestial King and bang his wife. I can't kill him due to my deal with Tang Feng, but when I am done with him, he's gonna turn asexual."
Wiping the debris off of me, I arose once again to my feet, drained of almost all my energy.
"Weak." Said Aegis, oozing contempt, "Why not use the authority you were born with?"
"Authority?" Scrunching my brow, a faint whisper of warning entered my heart. 'Do not trust him or listen less. I fall deeper down the rabbit's hole.'
"We are the next Monarch of Noctem! Born from the Will of Tenebrae, we stand above those raised within Illutath. Like Aldrich's control over the heavens, we hold control. No, Authority, over everything that carries the concept of darkness."
"A word and a man will bend a knee, a snap, and a man may turn on his closest friend. A wave and all that you see shall vanish, so is the power of a Sovereign, the Power of a True Monarch."
Clutching my head, which was growing cloudy by the second, a wave of nausea coiled its way around my stomach, stretching up to my throat and head.
"Back off," I barked, knowing it was Aegis's doing.
"Weak, if not pathetic. You can be so much more Arsene. We will become one in time; there will be no you, nor me, nor monarch. There will only be us! Only Us!"
"FUCK OFF!!!!" I screamed, atomizing everything a kilometer around to dust, as a wave of pure untamed Authority bombarded my mind. "SCREW OFF NOW!"
Bellowing in a flurry of laughter that sounded so familiar, I gnashed my teeth till the blood ran cold from my lips, waiting for the pressure of Aegis to begin to fade.
Chanting the Path of Abyssal Night, the devil, I knew now to be Aegis, riding my heels vanished. At least for now."
"All of you will pay. All of you." I screamed, stomping my feed into the sandy ground. Firing off the earth, I connected to Lilith, who I could feel was unconscious.
Narrowing my gaze, the scent of fresh water began to enter my nose the closer I got. Picking up the pace while I continued to chant Abyssal Night. I saw Lilith floating lifelessly in a small lake.
Rushing on top of the water to her side with haste, I pulled her up, admiring her ashen expression. "Who sleeps in the middle of a lake like so?"
Fluttering her lashes, a flash of Amythest opened just for me. She smiled faintly before closing them to me. Putting what little Qi I gathered in this short time into her, Lilith's expression began to show signs of warmth.
Pulling her into my arms, I sighed before tossing a few qi cultivation pills into her mouth, although it's not like they will help. I had come to know this long ago, but cultivation pills don't help all that much when it comes to cultivation for Lilith and me. The Qi from the Bed of Chaos is simply too weak.
Drying Lilith's body with a quick flare of Shadow Flames, I glanced around, feeling a bit lost. Tightening my grip around her, I glanced up towards the vibrant skies," Karsa!" I called out, hoping she was listening, "I know you're there. Skulking about in the shadows. We could use your help."
"I don't skulk, Arsene. I hunt. What is it you want? I am a busy woman, you know." Karsa sounding quite amused, contested,.
"Are you now? I find that a bit hard to believe." I challenged, with a faint smile," I mean no offense. It's just you seem so free spirit is all."
"Till I must strike," Karsa finished, drawing closer with a lustful glint, " So I ask again. What is it you want?"
"Help. I am sure you felt the Celestrial King's power in your domain."
"What of it? Not really my problem."
Narrowing my gaze at Karsa's straight expression, I frowned," I, along with my team, need sanctuary."
Karsa, with her serpent-like eyes, stared hard. and I was a bit hesitant to peer into her heart to get a feel of what she was thinking. Snakes are not dogs; they will definitely strike at the right moment. Let's just hope that time is not now.
"What is in it for me?"
Continuing chanting the Path of Abyssal Night mentally, I felt a cold shudder pass through Lilith's body and into mine. It has seemed the Abyssal Arte was a little much for her.
"Guess dealing with you was wrong; it's okay. It's a bit disdainful, but I am not above calling Aiza for help." I voiced out, tossing out the bait. I knew she would not resist.
Karsa, for all her charm, and grace, chilled like a block of ice. "Do you really wish I kill you, Arsene?"
"We have the potential to make quite a deal where we can all get what we want. It's up to you whether you want to keep acting all mysterious for some reason and help me out or ignore me, and I get help somewhere else. Because, believe me, it's quite easy for someone like me. I am not that alone as I might appear."
Glaring with a cold fire in her eyes, Karsa suddenly chuckled, casting a profound like to the swirling vortex of divinity still plaguing the skies. Then towards me, causing my skin to tingle and my heart to stir with foreboding.
"I do not trust you. Killing both an Arch Angel and a Prince of Hell. You will definitely prove useful, but having you by my side is like having a devil by my side. All your kind does is betray."
"Stop it. You are going to make me blush." A commented feeling rather enlightened hearing my past conquest.
"Fine, don't go anywhere. I am not responsible if someone kills you for leaving my room," Karsa coldly voices as my vision blitz. Force through space; a large towering tree appeared within my sight.
Consumed in such a deadly qi permeating the air, the hears upon my neck rose. Were Lilith and I not immortal, our life force would have been drained.
"She is crazy. Why would she send us here? Did she even know we were immortals?"
