Chapter 647 - King Vs Emperor
Letting Crimson Winds run wild over my body, a fierce storm of wind and blood began to race over the land. Swelling with my blood lust, I stood to my feet and glared at Seraphina defiantly. "You will have to run that blade through my chest if you think I will just fall in line."
Lifting her head slightly, Seraphina sneered, "You challenge me? You, a mere Star-Lord, will challenge an Elder God?"
Angels were all easy to predict. That is why fooling Seraphina was simple. What were the seven Heavenly Virtues: chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, kindness, patience, and humility. I was none of these things. Shit, I don't even understand humility.
What I do know is that these Seven Heavenly Virtues can be broken down into derivatives. Same as the Seven Sins that somehow link with one another. That is how the virtues of the knights, or the aristocracy, were created.
I needed courage. I needed the courage to stand up to this woman. I needed to think like a foolish hero, destined to die to the dark side.
Clenching my fist, the spear of pestilence formed in my palm as the glow of crimson winds began to wail. Squinting my eyes, I focused my mind, allowing all parts of my soul to process information; I hoisted the spear towards Seraphina.
"Your damn right,"
"Aye!" shouted Cleo pulling out her sword, "I will never abandon my master, who raced me from nothing. He is both a father and a master. That is not something I will ever give up. Even if death hangs in the balance."
Pushing out my hand, I spoke, "You will only slow me down."
Ignoring the spike in Cleo's aura, my eyes laid dead on Sera, whose arrogant demeanor only seemed to rise. It's hard to believe that even these angels don't recognize their vanity.
"Then come at me, boy," She challenged, whisking her sword downwards, creating a force that blew away the aura of crimson winds.
Shooting off my feet, I made sure to activate War of Kings. Pushing past my limit, I pierce my spear forth, using the orderly laws of the Demonic Spear of Order that Zariel had granted me long ago. I had long fused the concept of chaos and order into this spear, but going back to basics was always welcome, especially with how rigid these angels are in their life. If they are so cold and indifferent, I expect their blade to carry the same emotion as their master.
Swatting my blade away with her sword, the flair of embers filled my sight, but the moment they did, those very embers coiled into my sigil, surprising sera, I uttered a tier five spell.
"Inferno," I coldly chanted, pouring in tons of divinity. Flames exploded, filling the entire room in hellish flames, creating magma beneath my feet. Not letting up, several other sigils filled the skies as Lightning, and various other tiers' five spells began to flicker off.
But all this was for not as Sera would flicker her sword cleaving all my spells in half without issue, with her flaming sword. Even so, as she destroyed my Circles, the divinity was still there for me to control.
Charging through my spells, I stepped onto the air. Letting my spear dance with such an orderly fashion, the glint of my spear seemed to sweep forward from every possible angle.
A bit of solidarity took hold of Seraphina.
Beginning to dance alongside me, she stared solemnly but holding no form of contempt as she did before. Parrying my spear, I would use every single advantage I could, all the elements I had learned, everything, as my circles would cover the elements I didn't really know all too well.
Nevertheless, my offensive slowly ended as Sera went on the offensive. Pushing forth, I saw the true meaning of what it was to be truly lawly. Sera's blade was strictly rigid, beyond measure. Even though I knew where her blade was going to head, I still struggled to defend myself.
DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! DING!
Pushed on the defensive in terms of technique, a cold smile touched Sera's lips, "You are not even close to my level, but Freya trained you well. To raise a King is not easy. But the game is over."
Gritting my teeth, my strength continued to rise without end, but most of my powerful artes were tied up with my darkness and flames. I had minimal attack power right now.
Clitting my teeth, I narrowed my eyes as I backed away as Sera suddenly drew an Enochian rune in the air. However, as she did, I made a decisive decision. And allowed an almighty pressure to begin to leak from my arms.
"Die, "I whispered, as I felt the bloodline of the forsaken sudden rare its head, crushing the backlash I was going to face; the lines of weave flickered through my eyes for a single moment. Peering through the unknown, I narrowed in on Sera's neck while my spear sliced through the empty void, and as it did, blood spilled over the air.
Eh?
Wide eye, I touched my own neck, oozing blood. I became taken back by what just happened and staggered back, feeling my own spear had slashed entirely through my neck.
"Focus, Arsene," Said Aegis, "Did you forget the Blood of Shadows? You are not dead."
Still shocked, the blood in the air turned dark and faded into the void. However, just as the wound on my neck disappeared, I felt there was something within me that had vanished, and I knew I had just lost a defensive measure.
"You possess an almighty attack?! Impossible!" Shouted Sera. "That damn Aldrich! How could he allow a genius like you to be created? How are you even alive?"
Still shaken as this was the closes to death I had ever been, I glanced down at my spear. Not even wet with my blood, "What just happened?"
"What happened is that you challenged an Emperor as a King," said Sera, as she appeared like an apparition, moving so quickly I only felt the cold sting of her sword piercing through my chest, missing where my heart should be by a few centimeters.
Coughing up a mouthful of blood, she narrowed her eyes, "you are not the only one capable of using an almighty attack…… Next time find out what your opponent is capable of. "
