Chapter 1351 - Saga City’s City Lord Seal
After Frost Blade finished looting Karl, Blackbeard tossed him to the ground once more.
The two City Lord Seals were Karl’s final hope to make a comeback. So long as he had them, there was a chance that he would be able to make a rise to the top once more. Unfortunately for him, he had met with the bunch from Quan Zhen Sect, and was once again thrown back to his original state.
The current Karl seemed lifeless and was extremely miserable. He crawled back up to his feet and attempted to jump off the ship immediately.
“Hold him!”
With a wave of Fearless’ hand, Karl was caught in Blackbeard’s hands once more.
Karl calmly looked at Fearless and lamented, “The seals are already in your possession. I have nothing left on me. Are you still unwilling to let me go?”
“Hehe!” Fearless waved his hand and said, “The seals don’t really matter that much to us.”
“Then…… is there anything else on my body that is of more importance to you??” Karl asked as he began to panic.
“Of course!” Fearless nodded his head and said, “You dying here is more important to us!”
As he was speaking, Fearless glanced towards Ming Du’s direction. Shortly after, Ming Du raised his staff into the air, bringing forth a thick and violent thunderbolt down onto Karl’s head.
Karl wasn’t some strong and overbearing NPC, how could he hope to withstand a direct hit from Ming Du’s ability?
A “Kucha!” sound resounded as Karl’s body was blasted into ashes by Ming Du.
“Aiya…… why did you still kill him?”
Upon seeing Fearless instructing Ming Du to kill Karl, Wang Yu couldn’t help but feel pitiful for him. Even though he was an NPC, he was still a living person in the game.
“Old Bull……” Fearless sighed and said, “You are currently the City Lord of two cities and can be considered a person with relatively high status. Your current identity is no longer the same as how you were in the past. So please get rid of your naivety.”
As previously mentioned, the previous Wang Yu was just an ordinary player. At the very most, he would only be a player that could play the game better than everyone else.
Since Wang Yu was the top expert in a small guild, ordinary players wouldn’t dare to provoke him. The large guilds, on the other hand, only did things that were in their interests. Thus, they would naturally not spend so much effort just to target a small guild.
After all, dealing with them still costs money, and was definitely not economical. Furthermore, Quan Zhen Sect comprised of a group of ruthless players, and would resort to any means to emerge victorious. In the event that they somehow lost to this small bunch of players, wouldn’t that be slapping their own faces instead?
The current Wang Yu, however, was no longer the newbie player anymore, and had two cities under his name……
It should be known that there were only a handful of large guilds that had control over capital cities. Even the largest guild, Peerless Heaven, did not have any under their name.
These large guilds were all overly ambitious and wanted a share of the pie in the game. Which large guild wouldn’t be interested in taking over a capital city, which was equivalent to a fat piece of the pie in the game?
Even though given the current fame of Quan Zhen Sect, they would be able to deter the other large guilds, what about the future? The refresh rate of the players in the game was way faster than the content updates in the game. Within a few months, there would surely be players that had forgotten how fearsome Wang Yu was.
Even if Wang Yu could hold the large guilds in Twilight City down, what about the other cities? With such a big temptation, there would surely be some large guilds that would be unable to resist it.
Karl was the previous City Lord of Harbor City. If he was capable of getting his hands on the City Lord Seal of Saga City and Harbor City, who’s to say that he wouldn’t be able to get his hands on another? In the event that happens, Wang Yu would have given himself another fierce enemy.
Even though Wang Yu had the kindest intentions at heart, the number of people that did not far exceeded those that did. Fearless understood the kind of temper that Wang Yu had. As a strategist himself, and being able to look at things in the bigger picture, Fearless naturally knew the importance of dealing with matters thoroughly and cleanly.
Wang Yu had a pure heart, but he wasn’t a fool either. Thus, he naturally understood that Fearless’ actions were for his own good and wouldn’t go against him.
“En! I understand!” Wang Yu nodded his head and said.
“It’s good that you understand!” Fearless casually tossed the Harbor City City Lord Seal to Wang Yu and said, “Hurry up and activate it!”
There was no need for any pretense between Wang Yu and Fearless, thus, Wang Yu immediately accepted the token and activated it.
After a series of notifications, the system blasted a public announcement.
<Public Announcement: The shipping route between Brave Continent and Immortal Island finally opened up due to the relentless efforts of Harbor City’s City Lord Iron Bull. Brave Continent and Immortal Island can finally trade and City Lord Iron Bull has contributed significantly to this milestone. His glory shall be recorded in the history of the game forever.>
The public announcement was blasted three times to the entire world in the game……
Wang Yu deeply felt how shameless the game designers were this time around.
F*ck, Wang Yu initially thought that as long as he became the City Lord of Harbor City, he would be able to unlock the shipping route. Who knew that he had to complete this quest in order to unlock it.
This was no different from him buying the spare parts of a sports car and bringing it home to assemble it himself……
Just when Wang Yu was feeling gloomy about this, Fearless suddenly reminded him, “You did not activate the City Lord Seal for Saga City, right!”
Wang Yu replied, “I tried to use it, but I couldn’t! The system said that my level is currently too low, and can only have two cities under my name.”
“.……”
Upon hearing this, Fearless was speechless. To think that this brat’s actions were so quick…… Thankfully, the system had prevented him from taking over Saga City, otherwise, they would have wasted their efforts of obtaining this City Lord Seal.
“I can use it!” Upon hearing Wang Yu’s words, Ming Du suggested shamelessly, “Given my abilities, it is not too much to ask, right?”
“B*stard!” Fearless kicked Ming Du away with one leg and said, “If you can speak Japanese, I will let you be the City Lord, you shameless b*stard.”
“F*ck……”
Ming Du remained speechless.
“I can……” Boson interrupted eagerly.
“Bullsh*t!” Fearless rolled his eyes at Boson and said, “Your fiancee was stolen by someone else, and you still dare to take over a city?”
“I……”
Boson was infuriated upon hearing Fearless’ retort.
“I have a fiancee!” Spring Halo chirped in to give it a shot.
Fearless looked at him in disdain and said, “What’s the use of having a fiancee? With an allowance of only 50 bucks everyone, you want to build up a city?”
Spring Halo shut up instantly.
“I do not have a fiancee!” Vainglory raised his hand and said.
“Keke!” Fearless coldly laughed and said, “A man that had never experienced being with a woman would not have the necessary intellectual capacity to rule the world.”
“F*ck!”
Vainglory shouted in rage, “Why don’t we beat Fearless this old dog into a pulp together?”
“I agree!” Everyone nodded their heads at the same time, before rushing forward together and pinning Fearless to the ground……
At the end of the day, the reason why Fearless did not agree to let everyone use the City Lord Seal was mainly because Quan Zhen Sect ultimately wasn’t a large guild with tens of thousands of players under them. With a lack of players, they would be unable to control too many territories.
The reason why Wang Yu could take over two cities was because Harbor City was originally an empty and deserted city.
Saga City, on the other hand, was located on its own on Immortal Island. Thus, it was impossible for the ten over players from Quan Zhen Sect to take control over it…… It should be known that for a player to control a city, Citizen Popularity was extremely crucial. If the minimum Citizen Popularity wasn’t reached, the NPCs and other guild players would be able to launch a revolt, even if the City Lord possessed the City Lord Seal.
