  7 pm.

  Qin Ruo, Majestic Hero, and Black God reached the Buried City on time.

  The “sky” of Buried City was gloomy as usual. The Eternity Peak was still being attacked by waves and waves of specters while Skeleton Dragons patrolling from afar. Endless tides of growls by the specters and also the occasion dragon roar from the far horizon gave a constant ringing in the ears. The invisible Eye of Hades haunted everyone in the middle of the Buried City…… What a dreadful depressing place to be at.

  This time, however, the trip toward the deeper parts of the Buried City was much faster than before!

  That was because they had acquired the Golden Key. Also, Darius, who had the access toward a secret underground pathway was able to lead all three of them into the interiors of the Buried City.

  The secret underground pathway led them straight into a civilian house within the Buried City. There was no specter in sight……

  Before coming out from the pathway, Majestic Hero and Black God used their Elemental Perception to scan the area around the entrance and also seeking out for specters within a fifty meter radius.

  The civilian house was directly above them.

  It was around twenty square meters with twenty tall Skeleton Warriors, who were wearing leather armors patrolling inside it. There were also for Three-eyed Hellhounds sticking their noses on the floor, suspiciously sniffing around. Their eyes spelled alert and caution.

  These Three-eyed Hellhounds were Level 58 Underworld creatures. They might not be very bright but their noses were invaluable for reconnaissance—a great support for the soulless Skeleton army, which lacked alertness.

  The Hellhounds sniffed the floor which carried the scent of humans for quite a while. Then they finally found the entrance and started growling.

  The Skeleton Warriors started moving with their weapons, cautiously surrounding the entrance where a human scent was evidently lingering.

  When they started to poke their heads around the entrance, suddenly a surge of powerful mana gathered on the ceiling above their heads……

  Bzzt bzzt!

  The Skeleton Warriors and Hellhounds instinctively raised their heads.

  Three purple lightning balls about half a diameter in size buzzed above their heads. Just as their eyes twitched, the purple lightning balls exploded in an instant.

  Strong electricity spread widely and zapped every creature in the room.

  Then, all the Underworld creatures in sight fell onto the floor—writhing and wailing in agony……

  Then, a stone floor panel in the middle of them suddenly opened up……

  And a golden ray shot up above the ground and swiftly slammed two Three-eyed Hellhounds nearby onto the wall.

  Then a Pigasus flew out slowly……

  “!!!”


  After a blinding holy light swept across the room, every Underworld creature in the house disappeared into thin air. The battle was over.

  After coming out of their hiding, Majestic Hero glanced at the bones and corpses of the Three-eyed Hellhounds then spoke to Black God who followed him out of the underground pathway, “Come on, Black God. Don’t slack off. You can’t expect me to do everything, can you? Even Little Qin dispatched his Pet to aid me……”


  “These are merely pawns. I’ll move my finger when there are some worthy opponents in time of need.” Black God’s shameless words taught Qin Ruo an interesting thing about the Shadowmancers: they never fought unworthy pawns…… They only fought in times of need……

  Majestic Hero was indifferent with his attitude. After a few seconds of silence, he looked at Qin Ruo and Black God and said, “Now I’ve confirmed our coordinates and also our comrade’s distance from us. The closest ally should be four to five kilometers away.”


  “Four to five kilometers away huh.”


  Black God frowned and said, “There is still 2 hours and 40 minutes before Eye of Hades starts patrolling. Fighting all the way into our destination certainly is unwise. And even if we succeed, our people on the other side still need time to act. There isn’t much time.”


  “Then we won’t fight. We can try flying across to avoid combat,” Qin Ruo suggested.

  “Fly?”


  “Better not!”


  Majestic Hero and Black God shook their heads at the same time.

  “We tried just that last night. But the soonest we spread our wings, can you guess what happened?”


  Black God laughed before Qin Ruo could open his mouth. “The entire city went nuts!”


  “The Lich on the city walls, the Skeleton Dragons in the sky—everything that was flying in the sky all rushed toward us! It’s quite a sight.”


  “Motherfucker! And even the Dark Knight Legion was alerted and rushed toward the street we were at. Everywhere we look in the sky, every building in the Buried City was spitting out swarms and swarms of Underworld creatures. You won’t find a piece of ground to land at all.”


  Black God’s words sent a cold shiver down Qin Ruo’s spine.

  “Good thing I was quick on the feet and pulled Majestic Hero back into the secret pathway. Or else…… can you imagine the agony of being ganged up by hundreds of Tier 6 Bosses?”


  “That was basically what happened…… Except for the final part……” Majestic Hero glared at Black God. “If my memory serves me right, you were in shock. It was I that pulled you into that pathway; to save your hide, I even got shot by arrows.”


  “Eh? Really?” Black God seemed confused.

  “Yeah. Save it.”


  Majestic Hero threw him a disdainful glare then spoke to Qin Ruo, “In other words! So long as we’re out of this entrance, we can never use our Angelic Wings…… Or else we’ll be poking at a hornet’s nest. And if we’re too far from this entrance, we might not be able to escape unscathed.”


  “.……”


  Qin Ruo silently nodded his head, and then looked at the Pigasus. “Then how about this creature? Will it cause any trouble?”


  “It’s alright, I’ve tried summoning Big Hero here before. Not a problem. The Underworld creatures did not go rampage, but…… I’m not too sure if it would be the same if he uses his morphing abilities. It could be too bright.”


  “That’s good to hear.” Qin Ruo was relieved. If there were a Light-type creature to navigate their ways around, handling the Underworld creatures would take less effort. And even if they were to fight all the way, it would still save a lot of time too.

  “When we proceed, do your best to not engage in combat. There might not be a lot of patrols on the street but every house contains hordes of Underworld creatures…… If battle ensues, within three seconds, the patrols would sound the alarm and summon for reinforcements. All the enemies within a hundred meters would all swarm out. And if we are unlucky, we might get a few Bosses or mutated Underworld creatures…… Those things are persistent.”


  After hearing this, Qin Ruo felt a ringing migraine in his temple. He regretted that he only talked about the Mythical Battlefield and how he defeated Galbis but did not inquire anything about whatever that was down here. He did not think the situation in Buried City can be so complicated.

  “Don’t fret. I and Black God have discussed the entire night…… We’ve devised a plan.” Majestic Hero understood Qin Ruo’s worry, and continue explaining, “Under usual circumstances, the Underworld creatures that are inside the buildings will remain indoors. If they were not summoned, they won’t come out and mess with us…… We need to only beware of three types of patrols in the streets of the Buried City.”


  “Three types?” Qin Ruo was puzzled.

  “Yes. There were two other types of Underworld Knights aside the Dark Knight patrols! The streets of Buried City are usually patrolled by Level 58 Skeleton Knights and Level 60 Death Knights. The Dark Knights are mostly Bosses that are spread across multiple fixed locations in the streets. The Dark Knights that are stationed at our street here are gathered at the location Darius told us about…… Right next to the Dark Knight Commander.”


  “Wow, you really did your homework, didn’t you?”


  Qin Ruo was pleasantly surprised after hearing this.

  He did not think that Majestic Hero and Black God would be gutsy enough to mess with these Tier 6 and Tier 5 Bosses like that…… This was really crazy…… They were all Warrior-type Bosses that posed a tremendous threat to Elementalists.

  ‘These two are out of their mind!’


  “That’s not all. We also know that every patrolling team has a leader. They each had an eye-like symbol on their chests…… If we take out these leaders or stop it from commanding the Underworld creatures in the buildings to come out.”


  “We can do that?”


  Qin Ruo eyes were beaming with hope……

  “Yes. Normally these patrol team leaders will be the one in the front, making them easy targets. If we encounter a patrol team and could not escape, I will paralyze them while Black God slows down the riders in the back…… Little Qin, I need you to take out the team leader. The leader’s and minions’ HP are 18000 and 15000 respectively. So, what do you think?”


  “Sure, I’ll do it.”


  “I could paralyze them up to four seconds. During this time, I will summon Big Hero to aid you. You must defeat them in four seconds…… Or else, we’ll all be doomed.” Majestic Hero cautioned.

  Qin Ruo nodded. It’s only Level 60 and 58 Underworld creatures. Killing them should be easy. To handle these kinds of monsters, a round of Lycan Barrage should be more than enough as each strike had over 4500 damage. If added with status effects, the damage could soar higher too. He could deliver three strikes of Lycan Barrage in four seconds and Poochie can help him with Shadow Strike too. Majestic Hero did not need to worry that much.

  After agreeing to the plan, three of them opened the door and walked into the Buried City……

  There wasn’t a single person on the streets of the Buried City. However, it was not quiet either.

  There were constant growling and footsteps slipping out of the buildings along the street. Occasionally, they could even hear the Three-eyed Hellhounds’ angry barking too.

  Even Black God and Majestic Hero, despite being experienced veterans and had been here before several times, were also treading their steps anxiously. Of course, so was Qin Ruo—who was coming down here for the first time.

  Walking down the streets, they could hear terrifying growls and barking through the windows and doors. With Elemental Perception, they could see that the Underworld creatures were all eagerly leaning on the doors while waving their weapons—they had detected the scent of humans. Their eyes were sparking furious glares; it felt as though if they were to make a sound, these monsters would break out of the buildings and begin to tear them apart.

  Qin Ruo was horrified with what he could hear and see……

  Instinctively, he added a layer of Aquaband around his body……

  Then, under the awkward gaze of both Black God and Majestic Hero, he took down the Frostsoul Necklace that was hanging around his neck and took out a really weird looking Cyclops necklace…… and wore it.

  Within five seconds it hung around his neck, the necklace suddenly opened its eye and locked a stare at a house on the street. Then, two beams of bizarre red lights flashed on the shadow of the Mirror Cloak.

  This rather bizarre and enigmatic sight was all witnessed under Black God’s and Majestic Hero’s Elemental Perception and surprised them to some extent.
