  The Demon Faction also got the news. There were also members from their Five Leagues attempting to clear quests in the Buried City. They witnessed the entire change in the Buried City with their own eyes—the Eternal Corridors slapping onto the city, the violet beams, everything! Although they had no idea what happened in the middle of the Buried City, it was quite easy to guess what was happening.

  The Angel Faction had activated the warp portal first.

  As the Demon Faction players were groaning in dismay, the Angel Faction players were overjoyed with excitement. They scrambled to purchase potions and supplies to prepare for their adventures in the Buried City. And it was then, another system message shocked everyone in the continent again, “Eternal Portal is now activated. The Spawn of Hades is personally commanding the Army of Liches and Underworld to invade Mythical Continent!”


  Every player in the Mythical Continent was psyched.

  The Underworld!

  It was the fabled foreign world that was discussed repeatedly on the forum since the opening of the Graveyard of the Gods.

  Hades…… The Lord of the Underworld……

  And there was also the Army of the Liches—an entire army of Tier 6 Megabosses.

  Back in Buried City……

  Qin Ruo and his friends were still standing on the Eternity Peak, completely stunned at what was happening right before their eyes.

  Waves after waves of Underworld creatures, led by the Liches, marched into the huge warp portal.

  And the portal turned them one by one into glaring lights, teleporting them out of Buried City—like a glutton that could never be satiated, swallowing the Underworld creatures that were marching into its giant mouth.

  As the ground forces were teleported away, more and more Liches flew out of The Tower of Hades and glided into flares of light above the warp portal.

  Evidently, their destination was the Mythical Continent.

  As time passed by, Qin Ruo and his friends could not help but stare at all of that, trying to fully understand and digest the entire incident.

  The Lord of Underworld had this planned all along and was anticipating everything that would happen after the Eternal Corridor was laid onto the Buried City. That was why he was able to respond immediately by rallying his armies and sending them, all of the monsters that he had accumulated in those one hundred years, into the warp portal and, in turn, to the Mythical Continent above—almost like they rehearsed.

  Qin Ruo and his friends could not help but worry about the dangers that lay ahead. Qin Ruo was certain, with the speed Hades was sending his army through the portal and the combined might of the several hundred Liches, only Moonrise City, which had Demigod Champions in it, was sturdy enough to handle this formidable army.

  The other cities would not last long when faced with the Lich Army’s wrath! They could all end up like Buried City—their cities wiped out in a blink of an eye and falling to the hands of the Underworld.

  Wait!

  Qin Ruo suddenly realized something and turned to Majestic Hero.

  “Where does the warp portal lead to?”


  Qin Ruo’s hopeful words lifted his friends up from their feet.

  Indeed, the portal should be connected to Angel Faction’s warp portal system and provided direct access to the Buried City to Angel Faction players.

Just as they thought they were successful with their objectives by activating the Eternal Portal, Hades had used this very same portal to send his legion to the Mythical Continent above before any human reinforcement was able to reach them.

  Darius and his peers had not only failed to liberate Buried City from the grasp of Hades, they had made the situation worse—now that the Lich Army was set loose, they had also exposed the entire Mythical Continent to the danger of the Underworld.

  Darius spoke in a defeated voice, “The Eternal Portal does not only connect to the portals in your cities. It would connect to any portal in areas that are under the purview of Angel Faction. So, even if it’s a new warp portal that was created in the wild, as long as it’s still within the Angel Faction’s turf, the Eternal Portal can still establish a link with it……”


  “The human cities will not authorize the Underworld creatures’ entry. The creatures also could not teleport straight into your cities. So, your cities are safe.”

  Everyone exhaled in relief as they understood that their friends on the surface were not in immediate danger.

They certainly also did not anticipate that they would warp right next to the Tower of Hades!

  These “forerunners” suffered extremely bad luck.

  When an Underworld creature was so much as touched by the Shock Waves, it would combust and turn to dust. The Liches in the air, seeing that the table had turned, shrieked in horror and then turned their tails toward the Tower of Hades.
