I would like to ask everyone to please give your support and encouragement for Isaac Ivanov to fully recover from his injuries. This concludes my emergency briefing.
As soon as Isaac Ivanov’s spokesperson’s briefing ended, a new video was immediately broadcasted on TV-
Hurry! Hurry! This is an emergency!-
Isaac isn’t breathing! Come quickly!
In the poor quality video, two men gently laid a blonde-haired man down while anxiously informing the surrounding personal about the urgent situation and performing emergency measures, including CPR.
Soon, a man in a white lab coat who appeared to be a doctor hurried over and assessed the situation before beckoning to the rest and shouting-
Prepare for surgery immediately!
That was the end of the video.
Only after the video ended did a news anchor appear to begin explaining what happened in the video-
As you saw, Isaac Ivanov suffered fatal injuries during the battle with the Hatchling and is now receiving urgent medical care. According to the official reports, they have successfully managed to save his life, however, his injuries are so serious that he has yet to regain consciousness.
While watching the news report, Lee Jin-ah let out a shout of frustration.
“Dammit!”
As he said this word, Lee Jin-ah’s facial expression turned sour.
“Ah, dammit!”
After repeatedly saying this phrase, Lee Jin-ah bowed his head in despair.
“I should’ve done better…”
Lee Jin-ah’s voice sounded very depressed.
He sounded so serious that a person who heard it would feel the need to comfort him.
The man, who was sitting beside him silently this entire time, finally spoke to Lee Jin-ah.
“Do you have a mental illness?”
As Kim Woo-jin asked this, Lee Jin-ah frowned and asked back.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Don’t you think I’m the one who should be asking ‘what the hell are you talking about?’?”
“I’m talking about that!”
As he said that, Lee Jin-ah pointed toward the report being played on the television with the caption ‘Isaac Ivanov critically injured’.
“Look, look how bad I am at acting.”
Kim Woo-jin stared at Lee Jin-ah with cold eyes.
However, even when he was being stared at in such a way, Lee Jin-ah did not stop talking.
“Dammit, my acting skills are so bad…I might need to go to acting school.”
-
I can hear Lee Jin-ah’s bullshit from here. What’s going on?
Ignoring the depressed Lee Jin-ah, Kim Woo-jin returned his attention to his call with Oh Se-chan.
“Lee Jin-ah seems to suffer from mental illness.”
-
I knew there was something wrong with him. So he has a mental illness. We’ll need to arrange for psychotherapy. Ah, more importantly, how are you doing?
“There are no problems.”
There were no signs of fatal injury anywhere on Kim Woo-jin who was comfortably making the call.
No, not to mention injuries, there wasn’t even any sign of fatigue-
So, how is the harvest from the dungeon?
[Dragon Slayer]
– Achievement Rank: Unique
– Effect: All stats +30
“Not bad.”
The harvest from the dungeon wasn’t particularly impressive.
“How about you?”
After confirming his own harvest, Kim Woo-jin gave a small smile and returned the question to Oh Se-chan.
Oh Se-chan also smiled before responding-
A little salty.
It had been two days since Isaac Ivanov successfully cleared the Hatchling Dungeon with only three people.
The world was now filled with news about Isaac Ivanov.
The topics of these news articles were split between two things.
The first was the fact that Isaac Ivanov had exceeded everyone’s expectations and become a Dragon Slayer.
The other was that Isaac Ivanov had suffered severe injuries and was currently in a coma-
What makes it tastier is the fact that it’s fake consolation money.
Of course, the main piece of news was actually the fact that Isaac Ivanov had been injured in the dungeon.
More importantly, this was not some impulsive decision, but was instead a plan that had been developed even before they entered the dungeon.
There were many reasons for this decision-
Although we didn’t accept any donations from the general public and only accepted those from the guilds, the amount is substantial.
First of all, it was profitable.
If Isaac Ivanov had cleared the dungeon without incident, no one in the world would feel sympathy for him.
However, if Isaac Ivanov, who had become the world’s new Dragon Slayer, returned from the dungeon with severe injuries and in a coma, there wouldn’t just be sympathy, but instead tremendous support from the entire world.
“What about the Top Five Guilds?”
-
They haven’t said anything yet. But can those people who cried out through the media that they would bravely hunt the Hatchling to avenge Isaac Ivanov get away with just sending some juice as a gift? They will have to send something big since they care about Isaac Ivanov so much.
Those who had professed their desire to avenge Isaac Ivanov in the media would have no choice in the situation where Isaac Ivanov was alive, but ill.
They’d have to pay just as much as they did for their little publicity stunt-
Everyone is so concerned about this situation that they’ve completely forgotten what you did.
Under such circumstances, it was natural for the fact that Isaac Ivanov had cleared the Hatchling dungeon, and the meaning of such actions to fade.
This was the second reason for this act.
If Isaac Ivanov had simply successfully cleared the dungeon then their vigilance towards him would have risen to its peak.
But if it was a serious injury like this one, it was bound to grab everyone’s complete attention.
Isaac Ivanov was amazing, but he was lucky enough to even be alive.
In simple terms, they would be able to conceal his power.
“And the Bow God?”
-
I’m trying to track his movements right now, but I haven’t been able to find anything yet. I’m sure he’ll use his greatest trump cards now.
Of course, the biggest reason for this plan was the Bow God, Noda Heijiro.
Then I guess we’ll have to sprinkle a little bait called Kim Woo-jin-
That’s right.
The possibility that Kim Woo-jin might be Isaac Ivanov’s new teammate was then leaked to the Bow God.
When he was first faced with this situation, the Bow God must have had a lot of worries holding him back.
It was too risky to attack Kim Woo-jin who was in a team with none other than Isaac Ivanov.
Not only was it risky, but also the probability of success was incredibly low.
But what about now that Isaac Ivanov was critically injured and unconscious?
What if Kim Woo-jin was spotted alone in such a situation?-
Even if he suspects that the bait is poisoned, he will still bite it.
For the Bow God, even if he suspected that the bait was a trap, he would still grab the opportunity to bite it-
So are you confident?
Of course, this was why they believed that the Bow God would use his most powerful trump card at the first opportunity, regardless of if there was a crowd of people around or not.
Kim Woo-jin answered Oh Se-chan’s concerns calmly.
“Fortunately, the harvest wasn’t too bad this time, so there shouldn’t be any problems as long as it’s a 3 Floor dungeon.”
-
Isn’t it too dangerous though?
In response to Oh Se-chan’s repeated questions, Kim Woo-jin turned to glance beside him for a moment before saying.
“Don’t worry too much. I’m not alone this time.”
At that moment, Lee Jin-ah who was practicing his acting while looking at the TV suddenly felt a shiver go down his spine.
At that, Kim Woo-jin smiled slightly and prepared to end the conversation.
“Then let’s do this properly. First, set up a workshop for me, I want to make a few pieces of Dragon Skin armor.”
-
Okay.
“And I hope you can get me some gastric juice from a Golden Dragon(1).”
-
Golden Dragon’s gastric juices?
When Oh Se-chan asked that question, Kim Woo-jin looked at an item that was laying in his inventory.
[Cursed Sword]
– Rating: Unique
– Physical Attack: 10
– Required Level: Level 1 or Higher
– Description: A sealed sword with unknown power. It seems to be of no use.
‘The Ganjang(2) is now in my hand.’
Ganjang.
The memory of the first time he encountered this weapon came to Kim Woo-jin’s mind.
It wasn’t a very good memory.
‘It was this sword that cut off my arm.’
The first time he encountered the Ganjang, Kim Woo-jin had the horrible experience of having his arm cut off.
Of course, the one who cut off his arm also had his head cut off in exchange.
‘After that, it was given to Lee Se-jun.’
Lee Se-jun then became the owner of the then ownerless weapon and the Ganjang became one of the trademarks of Lee Se-jun.
At the same time, Kim Woo-jin was given an order.
‘I wandered the world in search of the Makya(2.5).’
To find the other half of the Ganjang pair, the Makya.
‘It’s a pity that I don’t know where the Makya is.’
However, despite utilizing their resources to search around the world, neither Kim Woo-jin nor the Messiah Guild were able to find the Makya.
Of course, Kim Woo-jin wasn’t too disappointed by that fact-
It won’t be easy to get. The Dragon Slayer is probably the only one who has any right now, and he rarely sells it. The fact that I was able to get some back then is amazing.
“It doesn’t matter if you take a bit of time to get it. That’s not too important right now.”
After all, the Makya wasn’t his target right now.
“I want you to pay attention to the stage for now.”
-
I’ll keep that in mind.
…
After the world became a game, it was obviously China who exerted the greatest influence in all of Asia.
The population that could not be compared and the leadership that stemmed from the one party dictatorship was not something that other countries could imitate.
The next country that grew in influence was Korea, and the reason for that was the fact that the Messiah Guild had started there.
Naturally, Japan’s influence fell to third place.
This caused the Japanese to feel a sense of inferiority and anger that was beyond description. At the same time, Japan felt a tremendous level of crisis.
They feared that if the situation continued to progress, they might end up trapped on the island and the fear began to overtake the country.
This was how the Yamato Federation came into being.
Under its will, Japan created a grand plan to escape its physical limitations.
And at the center of this plan, were the two strongest players in Japan, the Sword Saint, and the Bow God.
Of course, externally, the relationship between the two wasn’t good.
The Sword Saint was a player who represented Japan, while the Bow God seemed to represent the Messiah Guild.
They did not meet each other often, and it was also rumored that they had a terrible relationship.
“Long time no see.”
“I thought you promised not to show your face until the end of your little rebellion?”
But all of that was an act.
The two of them were closer than any other player could imagine.
“I need your disciple’s strength to get my revenge.”
“You mean for that guy named Kim Woo-jin?”
To the extent that they had a perfect grasp of each other’s situations.
“I’ve prepared some bait to lure him into a dungeon, but I don’t have a good enough hunter who can definitely get him.”
“Is a good hunter the only thing you need?”
“And I need equipment. We’re going to need at least a legendary item to successfully catch him. But we shouldn’t use our own, because there is still a risk of failure.”
Therefore, the conversation between the two of them wasn’t long.
“Sword Saint, lend me that sword you have never used before.”
Bow God asked and the Sword Saint agreed without even thinking about it.
“I’ll give you the Makya.”
And the conversation ended just like that.
(Note:
1. For those of you who don’t remember, Golden Dragon’s gastric juices first appeared in Chapter 47 and was used to remove the curse from the Stone Necklace which became the skill page for Eye of Horus. You can browse through it to refresh your memory if you like.
Ah…how I miss those days…everything felt…shorter…*sigh*
2-2.5. Brief look into the horrific life of a translator. Ganjang and Makya are weapons from a game called Dungeon Fighter Online, and can be considered Yin(Makya) and Yang(Ganjang) while wielding the properties of said energy, i.e. water and fire. They were made by a famous blacksmith named Ganjang and were named after himself and his wife.
Now the tricky thing about this is the fact that Ganjang(??) is Soy Sauce in Korean, so even when I was unsure why the author wanted Kim Woo-jin to hold soy sauce, it was not easy for me to find another translation of the word since even googling the word ‘ganjang’ would show you soy sauce. So it took me a pretty long time before I managed to find what it actually was. Not that interesting, but I thought I’d share.
Tbh…I don’t like how easy it is for Woo-jin to get the items he needs…)
