Chapter 123: A Shocking Secret, The Heavenly Planet
Barry Kaiser!
A trainee of the 6th super training camp!
He died in Australia 2 years ago!
He died……
Hearing this, Ling Jiu and the two girls were shocked.
“Did they misidentify him?”
Ling Jiu asked in confusion. “How can a dead person be alive and well like that?”
“That’s quite possible!”
Ai Yuhe nodded. “But I think the possibility of him being Barry Kaiser is not low. He may not have died two years ago, but instead was missing in action!”
“This is true!”
Ling Jiu nodded and immediately said, “We need to get to the bottom of this guy’s identity, but I’m more interested in what’s under the pool!”
“Indeed. This person did everything possible to prevent us from getting close to the pool, and then ordered the Direbeasts to attack us, and then launching mental attacks. He obviously didn’t want us to discover something!”
Ai Yuhe stared at the pool and slowly said, “Perhaps, there’s something incredible under the pool?”
Just as Ai Yuhe said this, Barry Kaiser slowly regained his senses. He was at a loss at first, and then his face panicked as he looked at Celeste with a look of fear.
“Don’t…… Don’t come over!!”
Barry turned around to flee, and at that very moment, Ling Jiu’s voice rang out. “If you dare to take one step further, I promise you a miserable death!”
Barry Kaiser froze in place and turned his head hard as he looked at Ling Jiu and the other two girls with eyes full of anger.
Only when he looked at Celeste that a look of horror appeared in his eyes. Celeste was just too strong, and he was no match against it.
“Who are you? Where is this place?”
Barry Kaiser stared at Ling Jiu and the girls as he asked with a ‘dazed’ look.
“Who are we, I’m sure you’ve already guessed it. As to where this place is, I’m pretty sure you aren’t that clueless?”
Ling Jiu sneered, “My dear Senior Barry, stop pretending, your acting skills are rather sh*t!”
Barry Kaiser shuddered slightly, as a flash of anxiety appeared in his eyes. “I don’t know what you are talking about, and I’m not Barry?”
Bam!
Just as he said that, Ling Jiu punched him in the face.
Baaaam!!
Barry flew backward for a good dozen meters before crashing heavily onto the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood in the process.
“You…… What are you doing?”
\r \r \r
Barry spat angrily.
“Since you don’t understand human language, I’ll let my fist do the talking then!”
Ling Jiu walked towards Barry step by step. “Didn’t you ask me where’s this place? I will answer that now!”
“This is the wilderness. A place where I don’t have to take any responsibilities even if I kill you! Do you…… get what I’m getting at?”
Barry trembled, as a look of humiliation and anger appeared in his eyes, but in the end, it all turned into bitterness. “You…… what do you want?”
“What I ask is what you will answer.”
Ling Jiu said indifferently. “If you make a single mistake, I’ll punch you once! If you dare to continue to lie, I don’t mind making turning you into a proper dead person!”
“By the way, let me remind you, I’m a Level 6 Arcanist, and I have the Tungsten Form Arcana. I can pull off 500 times the power in a single punch. If you still want to lie, go ahead then!”
“Five hundred times the power?”
Barry swallowed hard.
“Name!”
Ling Jiu asked lightly.
Barry did not want to answer Ling Jiu’s question. If possible, he would leave this place, and run as far away as he could!
But that was nothing but a pipedream.
So, he gave in.
“Barry Kaiser!”
“Age?”
“Nineteen years old!”
“Hometown?”
“New York Base City!”
“Arcana?”
“Mind Javelin, Direbeast Control, Water-form!”
“As I expected!”
Ai Yuhe and Yang Ling’er looked at each other. Everything made sense now.
Why were they mentally attacked? Why were they besieged by the Direbeasts as soon as they investigated the pool? It turned out that the mastermind behind all that was this guy. He actually had a mental-type Arcana and Direbeast Control Arcana!”
“You’re a trainee of the sixth super training camp right? Why were you pretending to be dead?”
Ling Jiu asked again.
“Because……”
Barry was showed a look of struggle, unwilling to answer the question.
Bam!
Ling Jiu immediately let his fist say hi to Barry’s face. He would not waste his breath on a person like this.
Barry spat out a mouthful of blood and immediately became much more compliant as he gritted his teeth and said:
“The three of you, this is my secret. An earth-shattering secret. I am willing to share with you three, but I beg you not to tell anyone else!”
“I think, if you know this secret, you wouldn’t want to share it with others either!”
“Because it’s just too precious!”
“Cut to the chase!”
Ling Jiu urged him a little impatiently. “What’s the secret that you’d exaggerate it so much?”
Barry said unwillingly. “A Dimensional Rift. You know about that?”
“Bullsh*t!”
Ling Jiu snorted. “Underground Room 12 has a dimensional rift there as well, and I’ll seat on top of the rift every week to train. So, do I know about that?”
“Seems like you’re one of the top rankers of the training camp this time around!”
Barry nodded and continued, “However, the Dimensional Rifts you all know are unstable and chaotic, and you can only train using the Gene Arcana spilling out of them!”
“Aren’t all Dimensional Rifts like that?” Ling Jiu raised the corner of his mouth.
“I used to think the same, and it was not until I strayed into this place two years ago that I found out that not all Dimensional Rifts are chaotic!”
Barry pointed to the deep, cold pool. “Under this pool is a stable Dimensional Rift. To be precise, it’s a Dimensional Passage!”
“A Dimensional Passage?”
Ling Jiu and the girls were surprised.
“Yes, a Dimensional Passage!”
Barry sniggered. “Do you know what’s on the opposite side of the passage?”
“Heh, that’s a wonderland-like place. It’s picturesque and beautiful. If there was a heaven of earth, then that must be heaven proper!”
“What sort of place is that?” Ling Jiu asked.
“It’s an outer space planet!”
Barry continued, “It’s a very small planet, perhaps even smaller than the moon, yet it’s a living planet that has given birth to life!”
“Also, the Gene Arcana there is very potent. Training there for a day is like training for a year back on Earth!”
“You’re lying!”
Ai Yuhe suddenly exclaimed. “If is it as magical as what you said. You’ve stayed there for two whole years, which means you’ve trained for at least 700 years. How can your strength only be at this level?”
Although she could not get a grasp on Barry’s strength, he was still no match for Celeste, and that was enough to show that he was probably at most a Level 8 Arcanist.
A super training camp trainee that was only a Level 8 Arcanist after 700 years? How dare you call yourself a super training camp trainee with such lousy aptitude?
Ling Jiu and Yang Ling’er had also thought of that, and they looked at Barry coldly.
Barry smiled bitterly. “You may not know. While the planet is small, it is still an alien planet, I simply could not stay there for too long!”
“I may look like I’ve gone MIA for two years, but I’ve been spending most of my time on Earth. The time I’ve spent on the planet is less than a few months!”
“Is that so?”
Ling Jiu raised his eyebrow. “How can I be sure you’re telling the truth?”
“You’ll know when you enter the place!”
Chapter 124: The Camp Commandant Arrives, Behind the Wormhole
There was a Dimensional Passage beneath the pool!
On top of that, the passage led to an outer space planet……
And it was a planet of life with rich Gene Arcana!
Ling Jiu and the girls were skeptical of Barry’s words, but what he said tempted them. Just in case…… Just in case……
In case it was true, then they would have discovered a brand-new world!
“Ling Jiu, what do you plan to do?”
Ai Yuhe and Yang Ling’er looked at Ling Jiu, waiting for him to take the lead.
“Well, no harm in checking it out!”
Ling Jiu looked at Barry Kaiser and struck without any hesitation.
Bam!
Barry Kaiser’s head exploded and died instantly.
“Ling Jiu, you……” The two girls were dumbstruck for a moment. “Why did you kill him?”
“Two reasons!”
Ling Jiu said faintly. “First, he had attacked us twice, wanting to kill us, and he nearly killed the two of you last time. So, his head should have been on the hit list on ago!”
“Second, I want to investigate the pool, and he is an unstable variable. To reduce any unnecessary trouble, I can only do this!”
“Oh, I see!”
The two girls nodded slightly.
“Wait for me here. I’ll go down to have a look.” Ling Jiu said slowly.
“Brother, I want to have a look too!”
“Me too!”
“Wait here. Once I’m sure that there’s no danger, the two of you can come down!”
Ling Jiu’s tone meant that there was no room for negotiations, and the two girls could not do anything but agree to it.
Good men are like this, while they will love you, care for you, and even pamper you as usual, but when it comes to issues of principles, they will not bend their backs.
“Just wait for me!”
Ling Jiu said to them as he prepared to enter the pool. Unexpectedly, a heavy voice rang out. “Ling Jiu, hold on!”
“Hmmm?”
Ling Jiu shuddered and saw two streams of light rushing over and appeared at the skies above the valley in a blink of an eye. It was the camp commandant and the trainer, Jing Biao.
\r \r \r
“Why are they here?”
Yang Ling’er and Ai Yuhe were both shocked.
“I’ll explain to you later!”
Ling Jiu sighed helplessly, and then immediately greeted the two with a smiling face. “Camp Commandant, Sir Jing Biao. You are here!”
“Thank goodness we came in time!”
Jing Biao breathed a sigh of relief before turning around to scold him, all the while laughing. “Boy, how could you believe someone so easily? Don’t you know how dangerous that was just now?”
“Dangerous?”
Ling Jiu was stunned.
“It’s a long story, I’ll explain to you later!”
As Jing Biao finished talking, he looked at Barry Kaiser’s body and could not help but sigh. “This kid disappeared two years ago in the wilderness. I thought he was dead. Didn’t expect him to be alive and well though!”
“This……”
Ling Jiu smiled awkwardly. “I killed him. I don’t really need to bear any responsibilities, right?”
“This is the wilderness!”
The camp commandant glanced at Ling Jiu and then ignored him. He then became to the sky above the pool, and carefully perceived it.
“This is the wilderness, and the training camp will not stop you from killing one another! Besides, keeping a selfish b*stard like him around is pointless!”
Jing Biao patted Ling Jiu on the shoulder. “Also, if what Barry Kaiser said is true, not only you are free from any blame today, but all of you had also made a great contribution. It may very well that you lot have struck gold!”
Ling Jiu was tempted. “Sir Jing Biao, do you also believe what Barry said?”
“I’ll give it 80 percent believable.”
Jing Biao smiled and continued, “Those things Barry said are one of the greatest secrets of the top levels of humanity. It is impossible for someone at his level to come into contact with it.”
“So, if he had no clue about that at all, then what he said is quite believable.”
“Secrets?”
Ling Jiu suddenly realized something and immediately asked, “Could it be that aside from the Dimensional Passage here, there are stable passages elsewhere?”
“Heh!”
Jing Biao patted Ling Jiu on the shoulder. While he did not verbalize it, his eyes gave an affirmative answer, and that shocked Ling Jiu.
There are other stable Dimensional Passages on Earth!
“Heh! I didn’t come for nothing!”
The camp commandant suddenly laughed and attracted everyone’s attention. Jing Biao immediately asked, “Sir, have you found the Dimensional Passage?”
The camp commandant did not answer, and instead tapped the bottom of the pool and shouted. “Open!”
The silt at the bottom of the pool suddenly transformed into an earthen dragon before rushing to the side.
A moment later, a dark hole appeared at the bottom of the pool.
The hole was dark and rumbling, making it difficult to see what was inside.
“Student Ai Yuhe, can you sense anything?” The camp commandant looked at Ai Yuhe and asked with a smile.
“There are strong spatial fluctuations beneath this hole, but the fluctuations are very stable, unlike the chaotic ones beneath the camp!”
Ai Yuhe said truthfully.
“As expected of the Dimensional Arcana!”
The camp commandant smiled as he praised her. “Come, let’s go down to have a look!”
As the camp commandant said that, he floated toward the hole, and Jing Biao immediately followed him.
“Let’s go down too!”
Upon stepping into the hole, it was like entering a dark underground cave.
At first, the cavern was narrow and only allowed one person to pass through at a time. As it continued to deepen, however, the cavern became more and more spacious, with jagged stone walls and various stalactites hanging on the ceiling.
Moreover, the ground had obviously been cleaned by someone and appeared rather flat. At times, there were even some rather obscured stairways, so walking was not difficult.
After walking all the way into the hole for about ten minutes, the group arrived at a very empty underground ‘palace’.
The underground palace was very large and spacious, but everyone’s eyes were drawn to a colored light at the center of the ‘palace’.
It was a colorful bubble about twenty meters in diameter that was suspended in the air, radiating a misty color on its surface, and was filled with a magical charm.
“That’s the Dimensional Passage?”
Ling Jiu stared at the colored bubbles.
“That’s the Dimensional Passage!”
The camp commandant smiled. “Inside the sphere-shaped Dimensional Passage or…… wormhole, is a small and stable wormhole inside a planet!”
“A small wormhole?”
Ai Yuhe and Yang Ling’er shuddered, as they were drawn to it.
“Look there!”
Jing Biao pointed to a corner and saw a maglev airship being parked there.
Around the airship was lots of trash, with Direbeast bones, used toilet paper, and even a few tombstones.
“That should be Barry’s airship.”
“Barry had lived here for two whole years. This rubbish is proof that he had lived here!”
“Eh? Why bother? To let himself ‘die’ just so he can hog the Dimensional Passage? I really don’t understand what he was thinking.”
“The thing on the other end of the wormhole is the real reason for his extreme behavior!”
Everyone once again looked at the wormhole floating in the air. What was it beyond the wormhole that caused a super training camp trainee to willingly ‘die’ to take sole possession of this wormhole?
“Camp commandant, should we go in to have a look?”
Jing Biao could not suppress his excitement and was eager to have a peek.
“It’s rare to find such a wormhole, so it must be explored. But none of us knows what lies beyond it, so we must be careful!”
