Chapter 125: Project Noah, the Planet of Life
“Camp Commandant, how did humans explore such stable wormholes in the past?” Ling Jiu could not help but ask.
“Just like the past!”
The camp commandant looked at Ling Jiu. “We will send a robot over first to test the stability and compatibility and the environment on the opposite end of the wormhole.”
“Whether the wormhole is really stable?”
“Whether we can pass through it?”
“Is the other side of the wormhole on a planet, or in space?”
“If it’s an alien planet, what is the environment of the planet like? Does it allow human survival? Are there any intelligent and high civilizations on it?
“So on and so forth!”
“This series of questions all needed to be carefully explored, you can’t be too careful about it.”
“After all, compared to the vast universe, humans are just too fragile!”
The camp commandant casually took out a robot dog, and after configuring it for a while, the robot dog leaped into the air and plunged into the colored bubble.
“We can only wait now.”
An expectant look appeared in the eyes of the camp commandant. “If the situation on the other side of the wormhole is as Barry said, then Ling Jiu, you have done a great job!”
“Is that so?”
Ling Jiu sniggered.
If it was not for the nanomachines on their body and everything being monitored by the training camp, he might not have been willing to report everything there back to the camp. Perhaps, he would have chosen the same path as Barry.
How nice would it be to take a heaven-like habitable planet for himself? And then take his family and a group of women along……
The skies above were literally the limit.
How nice would it be…… to happily lord over a planet?
It was a pity all of that was ruined by the god damned surveillance.
“I’ve mentioned to you earlier that we humans are experiencing an unprecedented disaster, and this disaster may cause our extinction, right?”
The camp commandant glanced at Yang Ling’er and Ai Yuhe before saying faintly.
“Yeah, there was that!”
Ling Jiu nodded slightly, while Yang Ling’er and Ai Yuhe were obviously surprised to hear this for the first time. “A disaster?”
“You don’t need to know the details!”
The camp commandant waved his hand. “In order to deal with this disaster, the highest echelon of mankind have made a two-pronged preparation. One is to desperately resist, and at the same time, raise potential combat powers to overcome the disaster!”
\r \r \r
“On the other hand, just in case, mankind had also set up Project Noah!”
“Project Noah?”
The three of them were dumbstruck.
“Have you heard of Noah’s Ark? In the legends, Noah’s is a big ship built according to God’s instructions.”
“The purpose of building the ark was to allow Noah and his family, alongside the various land creatures in the world to avoid the flood.”
The camp commandant said. “Project Noah is very similar to the story, and the purpose is to store important creatures and human civilization on Earth in it!”
“And then, when mankind on Earth encounters an extinction event, it could take on the responsibility of keeping our civilization alive.”
“However, our Noah’s Ark is not on Earth, but instead in deep within space on those habitable planets!”
Ling Jiu held his breath.
“But you also know that our human spaceflight technology has not reached the level of long-distance interstellar travel, so our current target is on that!”
The camp commandant pointed at the wormhole suspended in the air. “This kind of stable Dimensional Passage is our shortcut to the universe beyond, and there are many stable wormholes that lead straight to the habitable planet, and these habitable planets are our Plan B!”
“So, when we heard your conversation with Barry, both the camp commandant and I immediately rushed over.
Jing Biao explained, “The Dimensional Passage is very important, so we have to treat it with plenty of care! Of course, we were also afraid that you would enter the passage rashly and then run into danger!”
“Understood!”
Ling Jiu nodded.
“Ling Jiu, you and the girls had made a great contribution this time. The company will not be stingy with its rewards. Of course, the reward will still depend on the value of this Dimensional Passage.
The camp commandant suddenly smiled. “If this passage leads to a place like what Barry had said, a habitable planet, then the reward will definitely be massive!”
“Is that so?”
Ling Jiu raised his eyebrows.
“Ling Jiu, you don’t need to doubt what the camp commandant had said!”
Jing Biao smiled and added, “A habitable planet is a treasure of mankind, so any rewards will look insignificant before it!”
“That’s right!”
The camp commandant nodded.
At this moment, a buzzing sound rang out, and the camp commandant perked up as he broke into a smile. “Very good, the robot dog is back!”
“Camp commandant, let’s have a look. What did it capture I wonder?” Jing Biao asked.
“Okay!”
The camp commandant walked to the robot dog and pressed the back of the robot dog a few times before the metallic casing opened, revealing a card slot.
The camp commandant then pulled out something that looked like a USB drive and then plugged it into the microcomputer.
Ling Jiu, Yang Ling’er, and Ai Yuhe all gathered around as they stared at the microcomputer with a curious look in their eyes.
They will soon find out what was beyond the wormhole.
After clicking upon the USB folder, dozens of photos appeared inside it.
While the photos were not yet opened, looking at the thumbnail of the photos, everyone had an excited and anticipant look.
“These photos……”
Jing Biao’s eyes lit up. “Colorful, it looked like it had taken shots of a lot of plants?”
“Also, mountains, waterfalls, and big trees!” Ai Yuhe added.
“Everyone, we have a big discovery!”
The camp commandant took a deep breath and suppressed the excitement in his heart. His right hand trembled as he clicked on the first photo.
This was a color photograph and seemed to be taken through a colorful tunnel as the entire photo was a dream-like passageway filled with phantasmic light.
“Is this a Dimensional Passage?”
Ling Jiu exclaimed in a hushed voice, as Ai Yuhe and Yang Ling’er’s eyes widened.
“That’s right!”
The camp commandant clicked onto the second photo, it was still the Dimensional Passage, so was the third and fourth, and when he clicked on the fifth……
It was totally different!”
It was a high-altitude photo!
At a glance, there was an endless forest with white fog floating over it. Even the skies were covered by the fog as the entire area was painted white!
“A habitable planet!”
“It is a habitable planet!”
Jing Biao was so excited he could not control his emotions. “Camp Commandant, the land beyond the wormhole is indeed a habitable planet!”
“A habitable planet!”
The camp commandant too was excited as he tremblingly clicked on the next photo.
This was a close-up photo, and the subject of the shot was a big tree.
It stood more than a hundred meters tall, yet it looked like a giant mushroom or a giant funnel as it stood tall and majestic.
“This is a tree?”
Everyone exclaimed.
The camp commandant opened the next photo, and this was a long-distance shot, with its subject a huge mountain.
More impressively, however, the mountain was floating in midair with lush vegetation covering its surface. There was even a waterfall falling from the top of the mountain.
The peaks were surrounded by white fog and exotic birds, making it picturesque like a wonderland.
“A floating mountain?”
Chapter 126: Terrifying Concentration, Coming Over in Person
Everyone’s attention was drawn to the beautiful scenery.
There was an endless sea of trees……
A mountain floating in the air……
A flowing waterfall……
Strange birds soaring in the sky……
Clearly, the planet beyond the wormhole was a habitable one, and it was a very beautiful planet of life.
In Barry’s words, if there was heaven on earth, then the planet beyond the wormhole must be that heaven on earth.
Indeed, it was beautiful.
“Ling Jiu, you and the girls have done a great job!”
The camp commandant looked at Ling Jiu and the girls. “Thanks to all of you, humanity has once again found a Noah’s Ark that can carry the embers of our civilization. Thank you!”
“Camp Commandant, you are too generous, we had only just stumbled into this place by accident!” Ling Jiu smiled.
“Camp Commandant, look at this planet’s parameters, whether it is suitable for our survival!” Jing Biao urged.
“Yeah.”
The camp commandant nodded, and immediately opened the second last photo.
Surface gravity (relative): 0.88
Atmospheric density (relative): 1.13
Surface pressure (relative): 1.12
Surface temperature (detection area): 34℃
“This four data looks almost no different than Earth!”
“Indeed. The gravity is 0.88 times that of Earth, which is slightly lighter than Earth. The atmospheric and surface pressure is slightly higher, and so is the temperature.”
“From this four data alone, it does look similar to Earth!”
“Of course, whether we can survive on this planet really depends on the atmospheric composition.”
The camp commandant clicked on the last photo.
Atmospheric composition: Nitrogen (32%), Oxygen (33.4%), Carbon Dioxide (12.1%), Xenon (5.5%), Methane (1.2%), Hydrogen Sulfide (1%), Gene Arcana (13.93%), other rare gases and water vapor (0.87%).
“33.4% Oxygen?”
“Damn, that’s a little bit high!”
“12.1% Carbon Dioxide?”
“This is way too high, no wonder the surface temperature is so high!”
“The Xenon content is as high as 5.5%, no wonder the atmosphere here is heavier than Earth’s!”
\r \r \r
“The temperature of methane and hydrogen sulfide are quite high too. Does fire disasters happen often in that planet?”
If it was the earlier four data, it was just a simple discussion, and no one felt anything special about it.
Then, when they saw the concentration of Gene Arcana on the data sheet, the camp commandant and Jing Biao fell into a frenzied excitement.
“The Gene Arcana concentration is that high?”
“You gotta be kidding me!”
“Camp Commandant, did we just find a rather amazing planet?”
The camp commandant and Jing Biao both shuddered with excitement. As if two old hooligans were staring at a young girl, and the gaze sent a chill down Ling Jiu’s spine.
“Camp Commandant, is 13.93% Gene Arcana concentration high?”
Ling Jiu could not help but ask.
Upon hearing this question, the camp commandant and Jing Biao looked at Ling Jiu as if they were looking at a fool.
“Ling Jiu, do you have any idea what’s the concentration of Gene Arcana back on Earth?”
Ling Jiu shook his head.
“0.081%!”
Jing Biao slowly spat out a number.
“13.93!”
“0.081!”
Ling Jiu was stunned: “How many times is the difference again?”
“One hundred and seventy-one times!”
Yang Ling’er answered.
“One hundred and seventy-one times!”
Ling Jiu was stunned. “In other words, the Gene Arcana concentration on that planet is 171 times that of Earth?”
“The gap is incredibly big!”
The camp commandant slowly said, “The concentration on the fourth level of Underground Room 12 is about 10 times more than the outside world. Meanwhile, the third and second levels have 100 times and 1,000 times more respectively.”
“That is to say.”
“As long as you enter this planet and look for any random spot, the effect would be between Underground Room 12’s level two and three!”
“That’s outrageous!”
Ling Jiu was shocked.
He might have been scoffing at the third level of Underground Room 12, but for any other Arcanist, the third level was definitely a Mecca for training.
However, on this planet, any spot would net you 171 times the Gene Arcana concentration!
“It is really a great place to train!”
Jing Biao could not help but to exclaim. “Even a normal person living in this planet would evolve under the nourishment of the Gene Arcana.”
“It’s because of that……”
The camp commandant’s expression turned grim. “This planet must be very dangerous, with terrifying beasts having evolved on it!”
Jing Biao nodded. “If this planet does not have any intelligent life, then everything is fine and dandy, but if they have……”
He did not continue his sentence, but everyone understood what he meant. If there was intelligent life on this planet, then the intelligent life on this planet must be very powerful.
This was undoubtedly a great threat for Earthlings who had only barely just started getting a foothold.
Forget developing this habitable planet, the intelligent life on it may very well invade Earth instead.
When that time comes, it would be another catastrophe!
“So, it’s important to figure out what life is like on this planet.”
The camp commandant said. “This matter is of great importance. We need to report immediately back to HQ, and let the boss decide!”
“If it gets more serious, then there may be a meeting of the High Council of Mankind!”
“A High Council of Mankind’s meeting?”
Jing Biao shuddered and then nodded slowly.
“Let’s head out first.”
“Yes, sir!”
The group walked out of the underground chamber, and the camp commandant immediately made a phone call.
“Hey, Ol’ Zhao?”
“Oh, it’s you, Ol’ Li, you haven’t called me for a long time now, why, did you suddenly remember me?”
“Now that’s something I don’t like to hear, so I can’t call you if there’s nothing going on?”
“Of course! Say, how’ve you been in OZ? If I hadn’t been too busy lately, I’d really have wanted to pay you a visit!”
“You? Visiting me? Oh, cut it out. Let’s get down to business. Help me find the boss and tell him that I have something to report!”
“The chairman?”
The person on the other side of the photo paused for a moment. “Old Li, you know that the chairman is very busy, if there is nothing important, you shouldn’t disturb him……”
“I’ve been with the boss longer than you. I know his character, so cut the nonsense, and look for the boss for me, pronto!”
The camp commandant said a little impatiently.
“I’m just giving you a friendly reminder.”
The voice on the other side of the phone soon fell silent, and not long later, a low, slightly hoarse voice rang out. “Lil’ Li?”
“It’s me, boss!”
The camp commandant sprang up straight, as his tone became extremely respectful.
“I heard Lil Zhao said you’re looking for me?”
The low, rumbling voice continued.
“Yes, boss!”
The camp commandant took a deep breath, and hurriedly reported today’s find over, and at the end, he asked. “Boss, please let me know what to do next!”
“I’ll come over in person!” the low voice quickly replied.
The camp commandant was elated. “You’re coming over? That’s great! With you here in person, things will definitely be much easier!”
Chapter 127: Emperor Might’s Arrival, the Mystery of Space
The big boss is coming over in person?
Ling Jiu’s heart thumped hard.
The only person that could be called boss by the camp commandant is undoubtedly only one person, the founder of Pangu Arcana Combine, and the world’s number one elite, Emperor Might!
“Camp commandant, is the chairman coming over in person?”
Ai Yuhe’s eyes lit up as she asked excitedly.
“That’s right!”
The camp commandant nodded slightly. “The planet of life is very important after all, so it stands to reason that the boss is willing to come in person!”
“Oh, my God! I’ll get to see the chairman soon! I’m so excited!”
Ai Yuhe was so excited that she kept repeating herself. “The chairman is my idol, and I’ve been dreaming to see him, and I totally did not expect to see him today!”
“Yes, yes!”
Yang Ling’er too was very excited. Almost all of the young people in this generation grew up listening to the story of Emperor Might, and it was the sort of hero worship that came from the heart.
It was just that Ling Jiu, a person who had crossed over did not have much feeling for Emperor Might, and he was at most just slightly in awe.
Seeing his sister and Ai Yuhe suddenly became so excited, Ling Jiu was curious. “Camp Commandant, what sort of person the chairman is?”
“The boss……”
A look of reverence appeared in the camp commandant’s eyes. “He is a God!”
“God?”
Ling Jiu was taken aback.
“Yes! God!”
The camp commandant had a look of reverence. “He is invincible and omnipotent, the boss is a supreme god in my heart!”
“God……”
Ling Jiu was a little shocked.
In his heart, the camp commandant’s strength was unfathomable and extremely terrifying. Yet, in the eyes of the camp commandant, Emperor Might was a god?
What sort of person Emperor Might was?
Ling Jiu was even more curious now!
“In a sense, the chairman is indeed a god on earth!”
Jing Biao also exclaimed, “Any existence above a Level 10 Arcanist is almost the same as the gods!”
“An existence beyond a Level 10 Arcanist?”
\r \r \r
Ling Jiu trembled in shock as he spoke disbelief. “The chairman is that strong?”
“A worldwide search shows that there are only two people beyond a Level 10 Arcanist. One is the chairman, the other……”
“Vooosh!”
As Jing Biao was talking, the skies above his head seemed to be torn apart as a pitch-black crack appeared.
Immediately after, a young man in a black casual suit emerged from the crack and floated in the air.
At the same time, the crack behind him restored itself as if it had never appeared before.
“Boss!”
The camp commandant bowed excitedly.
“Chairman!”
Jing Biao, Ai Yuhe, and Yang Ling’er all bowed slightly, only Ling Jiu secretly stared at the young man in the air with his eyes full of curiosity.
An ordinary casual black clothes, an ordinary crew cut, even his appearance was ordinary, the kind that does not stand out at all in a crowd.
He was too ordinary, if not for the fact he had appeared out of thin air and was floating in the air, he was virtually indistinguishable from any ordinary youth!
“This is the chairman?”
Ling Jiu was stunned. “He looks rather ordinary……”
“Ling Jiu!!”
Jing Biao growled.
Ling Jiu immediately perked up and bowed.
“Rise!”
Emperor Might’s voice was a little hoarse.
Everyone rose as they heard the word and saw Emperor Might walk down from the air step by step. It was as if there was an invisible staircase under his feet while he walked up to everyone.
“Boss!”
The camp commandant said excitedly.
“Ol’ Li, good job!”
Emperor Might patted the camp commandant on the shoulder, revealing a slight smile.
The camp commandant was so excited that he looked like a child that got praised by the teacher, so much so that he was at a loss.
It had to be said that this scene looked a little weird.
One was an old man with gray hair and a majestic-looking face, while another was a young man in his twenties. And the old man got all excited when the young man praised him.
It just felt weird!
Emperor Might looked at the hole at the center of the pool. “Is the wormhole down there?”
“Yes, Boss!”
“Wait here, I’ll be back in a jiffy!”
As Emperor Might said that, he disappeared into thin air where he stood. Without a sound, without any fluctuations in the airflow, as if he had never appeared before.
“This…… Is this Blink?”
Ling Jiu was shocked. “Camp Commandant, how many Arcanas does the chairman have?”
Emperor Might’s most well-known Arcana was the famous Pangu God Ant-Form, but the possibility of him gaining new Arcanas using the treasure of heaven and earth could not be ruled out.
After all, with Emperor Might’s position, what kind of treasure he doesn’t have?
“The chairman only has one Arcana!”
The camp commandant showed a look of admiration. “That’s the Pangu God Ant-Form, and the ability that looked like Blink just now was because boss that already understood the mysteries of space, and so he can freely jump across space!”
“Understood the mysteries of space?”
“Being able to leap freely across space?”
Ling Jiu was stunned.
“We are standing on the universe, be it science or technology, or the usage of Arcana, we are actually constantly exploring and tapping into the power of the universe!”
The camp commandant meaningfully said, “The deeper you dig into the universe, the more advanced your technology will be, and the stronger you will get. You will understand this point later on.”
Ling Jiu nodded half-understandingly. At the end of training, an Arcanist would want to tap into the power of the universe itself?
The chairman had come to fathom the mysteries of space. Was this also a power of the universe? ……
Time passed slowly as everyone stood anticipant, without them noticing, three hours had passed and the sun above was scorching hot.
“Looks like boss won’t be coming back for a while, let’s get something to eat.”
Everyone came to the side and deployed the maglev airship as they prepared to eat.
At this moment, there was a commotion outside and a figure flashed past and an additional person appeared inside the airship. It was Emperor Might who had entered the wormhole.
“Boss, you’re back!”
Everyone stood up and looked at Emperor Might with anticipation.
“Yeah.”
Emperor Might nodded slightly as a smile appeared on his face. “Beyond the wormhole is indeed a very good habitable planet. Although it is not very large, it is very suitable for human survival. Lil’ Li, you’ve done well this time!”
“Boss, can you tell us more about the planet?” The camp commandant said excitedly.
“This planet should be a satellite of a giant gaseous planet, about 3000 kilometers in diameter, close to the size of a moon.”
“Due to its suitable climate and stable environment, the planet has given birth to a large number of organisms, but there should not be any intelligent life yet.
“Also, because of the potent Gene Arcana, the life on this planet is quite powerful, with creatures comparable to Class 8 or Class 9 Direbeasts all over the place!
“Additionally, due to the low gravity, the animals on this planet are far larger than the Direbeasts back on Earth.”
“Since the atmosphere of this planet is rich in carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, the incidents of acid rain are much more serious here.
“So, almost all of the animals have evolved to possess hard shells, as well as exoskeletons, with amazing defenses and strengths!”
