Wang Chuan wondered in his mind. A gift? Who sent it? Ye Sui? Apart from Ye Sui, Wang Chuan never thought there would be a second person to make their president so happy.
Besides, he had just mentioned a few words and felt the President glow like spring.
Wang Chuan continued, “This person must be very visionary, choosing it so carefully.” In this situation, even if Ye Sui sent a grass, the President would still treat it as a precious treasure.
Chen Shu glanced at Wang Chuan approvingly and said, “Is that so?”
Wang Chuan immediately gave an affirmative answer, “Absolutely. That person must have thought about President Chen’s preference; otherwise, how could it be so appropriate?”
Chen Shu listened to Wang Chuan, nodded in satisfaction, and especially praised him, “You have done a good job recently.”
The flattered Wang Chuan walked out of the office with sloppy footsteps, thinking that Chen Shu was not as cold president as he seemed.
Because he received so many compliments from Chen Shu in one day, Wang Chuan worked hard even at work. He also frightened Cheng Sheng, who thought he was possessed by a ghost.
Ye Sui didn’t know that she could keep Chen Shu’s good mood for such a long time just by giving him a small gift.
When Ye Sui returned from work at night, Chen Shu was already home.
Ye Sui immediately looked at the time on the phone; it was clearly not eight o’clock. Why did Chen Shu come home now?
“You came back very early today.” Ye Sui went to the kitchen to pick up a glass of water and took a sip.
Chen Shu looked down at his new tie as if implying something, then answered Ye Sui’s question, “There was nothing to do today, so I came back early.”
Yet, Chen Shu glanced at his study subconsciously. His desk was still piled with documents brought back from the company. Since he was distracted during the day, there was still much work to be done.
“Oh, so that’s why.” Ye Sui nodded suddenly.
Fortunately, Ye Sui did not have the habit of going to his study. However, a shadow of guilt flashed in Chen Shu’s eyes.
Ye Sui’s eyes fell on Chen Shu’s tie. She thought that he had just returned home, so he still wore the clothes when he went out without changing.
In fact, Chen Shu had come back much earlier. He didn’t change his suit on purpose, wanting to let Ye Sui take a look again. Since Ye Sui went out early in the morning and the two of them did not meet, he failed to show her the tie he was going to wear for work.
Ye Sui was more satisfied with the tie the more she looked at it. She really chose right, but it was even better when Chen Shu wore it.
Ye Sui pointed at the tie and said, “This tie really suits you.”
Chen Shu was just waiting for Ye Sui to say that again. His lips hooked up, and he smiled. “You have a good eye.”
If Ye Sui knew that just some of her words would make Chen Shu so happy, she would promise to say hundreds of praises without repetition.
Ye Sui would even boast three times a day.
Knock, knock!
Suddenly, a sudden knock on the door sounded, and Ye Sui froze for a moment, but nothing happened.
Knock, knock!
After hesitating for a few seconds, the knock on the door rang again, with some haste this time.
Ye Sui put down the cup, got up from the sofa, walked to the door, and said to Chen Shu, “I’ll open the door.”
Chen Shu quickly took over her and walked straight to the door. “You wait here. I’ll go.”
Chen Shu didn’t open the door immediately. He first glanced outside through the peephole and then opened the door. Ye Sui also took a step to take a look.
There was no one outside the door, and there was only one corridor extending to the end. There was no one. It seemed that the knocking on the door before was just their imagination.
