Chapter 343 - Why Are You Nervous?
Carry her to the bath?
Could she reject?
Su Wan lowered her head and took a look at her bruised instep. She had no reason to reject.
Just when Su Wan wished to cry but could shed no tears, Jiang Xuecheng had put down his white porcelain spoon. He raised his brows calmly and said, “I’ll fill the tub for you first.”
Before waiting for Su Wan to answer, Jiang Xuecheng stood up and walked up the stairs with big strides.
Su Wan looked at the tall figure which had gone farther and farther. Her uneasy heart instantly tightened.
What did Jiang Xuecheng mean? Did he want to carry her to the bathroom and then leave or was he thinking of something else?
In this aspect, Jiang Xuecheng had left Su Wan an indelible lesson. It was really no wonder that Su Wan kept thinking about it.
Looking at the remaining shredded chicken porridge, Su Wan lost her appetite again although the taste was still good.
Just when Su Wan had ants in her pants, she heard a slow descent. Obviously, Jiang Xuecheng had returned after filling the tub for her.
“Is the porridge not good?”
Jiang Xuecheng looked down at Su Wan from above. His eyes swept across the bowl of porridge in front of Su Wan and found that she had not really touched it.
Su Wan looked up and met Jiang Xuecheng’s gaze. “I can’t eat anymore.”
Jiang Xuecheng was silent for a moment and suddenly smiled but his dark eyes were too profound to be understood, making Su Wan nervous.
“Wan Wan, I’ll carry you upstairs.”
Upon hearing this, Su Wan’s body stiffened. “I’ve just eaten. Let me digest it a little.”
Jiang Xuecheng was helpless seeing Su Wan struggle and felt it was funny. He examined her tightly seized fingers faintly and shook his head silently.
“Alright, I’ll carry you up in fifteen minutes. Which set of pajamas would you like to wear? I’ll get it for you.”
Did it mean she could still be an ostrich for fifteen minutes?
Su Wan lowered her eyes and after some thought, she replied softly, “The blue one. When you open the first closet in the left room, it should be the first one you see.”
After sending Jiang Xuecheng back upstairs, Su Wan was still on pins and needles. She took out her mobile phone but was not interested in anything in it.
It was such a hot day today. How could she say she didn’t want a bath?
Just when Su Wan’s interest had worn out, a deep voice sounded from behind.
“Wan Wan, time’s up.”
Could this man not be so punctual?
It was a very pleasant voice but when it landed in Su Wan’s ears, it made her shudder with fear.
With a bitter face, Su Wan was reluctantly picked up by Jiang Xuecheng. Su Wan placed her head on Jiang Xuecheng’s shoulder and heard his strong heartbeat.
Without realizing, Su Wan’s heartbeat raced too. It was so fast—fear arose in her heart.
When Jiang Xuecheng carried her upstairs, Su Wan could hear his heavier than usual footsteps, probably because there was the weight of another person.
Su Wan’s uneasiness became stronger. She examined Jiang Xuecheng’s elegant side face and she had mixed feelings.
With great effort, they arrived at their destination. Jiang Xuecheng placed her on a chair by the side and started to remove her dress.
Su Wan blushed and the redness leapt to her ears. Su Wan caught his hand immediately and said, “Let me do it myself.”
“Are you sure you can?”
Although it was a question, it brought about a sense of mockery when it was uttered by Jiang Xuecheng, as if she would definitely fall.
Being refuted by Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan still held on and tried hard to remain calm.
“You must trust me.”
A light appeared in Jiang Xuecheng’s dark eyes which were tightly fixed on Su Wan. With his thin lips, the sarcasm was more vivid.
“Okay, but even if you can undress yourself, tell me how you’re going to get into the bathtub without moving your injured foot?”
This was indeed a tough question……
Upon hearing this, Su Wan had nothing to say.
With the hot water vapor beside them, the air inside was much hotter than outside. Now that Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng were confronting one another, it was as if the temperature had risen several degrees.
It seemed it was going to be a stand-off. Finally, Jiang Xuecheng walked over and started to unzip Su Wan.
Su Wan’s cheeks were all red. Unconsciously, she demanded, “What are you doing?”
“I’m helping you.”
After these simple words, Jiang Xuecheng’s gesture continued and his eyes darkened.
Today, Su Wan wore a one-piece dress to make changing easier for their wedding photo shoot. As long as one could unzip the dress from behind, it would easily be removed.
“I don’t want you to help me. Go out first.”
When she felt Jiang Xuecheng’s fingers sliding her zipper down, Su Wan was electrified and couldn’t help feeling excited.
Su Wan felt that she was being grilled on a fire. Her pretty face was all red as if it could shed blood.
Her heartbeat pounded like a jackhammer.
The water mist in the air reflected her eyes. She looked as if she was going to cry. Her eyes were both aggrieved and bewitching, making those who saw her couldn’t help but have the urge to take her down instantly.
Jiang Xuecheng gulped and there was a low laughter. His long fingers slid the zipper all the way down.
Instantly, the long dress fell from Su Wan’s shoulders. A burst of cool air came attacking and Su Wan subconsciously put her hands in front to cover herself.
She had said earlier that this man looked serious on the surface but was a beast within.
Jiang Xuecheng narrowed his eyes and his long eyes revealed a frightening message.
“Why are you so nervous? It’s not like I haven’t seen your body before.”
How straightforward!
Su Wan complained about Jiang Xuecheng in her heart. While hanging her head low, she dared not look into Jiang Xuecheng’s deep eyes.
Jiang Xuecheng was naturally not happy with Su Wan’s ostrich-like behavior. He grabbed her shoulders and forced Su Wan to raise her head.
His lay his long fingertip on Su Wan’s smooth shoulder and caressed it twice.
Su Wan didn’t know why she felt an inexplicable fear when Jiang Xuecheng did that gesture either intentionally or unintentionally.
Su Wan’s whole body stiffened. She hugged herself tightly and stared at Jiang Xuecheng with alert.
“Enough, you may go out now!”
It should be a cold sentence but unfortunately, with her pathetic look and her half-naked body, her aura seemed weak.
Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly. He looked steadily at Su Wan and his eyes as deep as the sea looked calm but she didn’t know how many vortices lurked underneath.
Su Wan’s black hair was scattered on her shoulders. She still held her hands in front of her but the beautiful scenery could not be covered completely.
Looking at her now, she seemed to have been severely bullied by someone, or should it be said that it made one wish to bully her.
