Chapter 92 Taking on a Music Video
At exactly noon, Yao Tang appeared by the airport entrance, waiting patiently for another person’s arrival.
Just then, a man in a dark suit appeared next to her. “Are you Yao Tang?” he asked. He looked quite familiar as if she had already seen him from somewhere.
She raised her eyebrows at the man. “Who are
you?”
“I’m Qin Rui.” The person smiled. “Qin Hao’s cousin. It wouldn’t be reasonable to take a taxi this late at night, so Brother Cheng had asked me to pick you up.”
“Hm.” With a purse of her lips, she nodded and followed suit.
Imperial Palace.
Yao Tang was pushing open Cheng Yan’s door when someone called her on the phone. Seeing the name on her screen, she answered.
“You’re here?” A smooth velvety voice echoed across the line.
“Yeah,” she responded, turning on the lights. After gingerly placing her bag on the carpet, she pulled out her laptop and turned it on.
“I bought a new bathrobe,” he stated. “Go take a shower and go to bed early. Don’t stay up too late, okay?” “Hm.”
He really did follow through.
After hanging up, Yao Tang plopped onto the carpet as the screen illuminated to life. The light shone across her face, reflecting her dark eyes and manicured nails.
She didn’t waste another time as her fingers danced across the keyboard. Her eyes quickly scanned through lines of code and information, searching for something that might be of use to her.
Just then, she stopped on an intelligence report.
Resting her chin on her hand, she casually read through the report. The man had appeared on the news channel quite often. The leader of the K Nation, the man stood tall and firm, with eyes as sharp as an eagle. He was quite handsome and muscled, with strong features and broad shoulders.
Just his sight alone could intimidate most people she knew.
Yet, no matter how much she had searched, she couldn’t see any articles on the man’s disease. If that was the case, what did he want with her?
Knowing that her search for information was fruitless, she randomly pressed a few keys on the keyboard and clicked on the game page. “Might as well play while I’m at it,” she murmured to herself.
However, she didn’t forget Cheng Yan’s reminders as she went into the bathroom and grabbed the bathrobe he had bought for her.
She took a long shower before finally stepping out to dry her hair. Even then, she couldn’t remove her thoughts from the man in the picture. What exactly was he suffering from?
Seeing that her hair was finally dry, she tossed the towel into the basket and sat in front of her computer. The computer game’s noise echoed across the room, but as her fingers rest on the keyboard, she found that she wasn’t really in the mood to play anymore. Instead, she glanced at the bookshelf in the other corner of the room.
The bookshelf was filled with all kinds of original books from a variety of languages. They were all from different collections; others were even limited edition copies.
After picking up an English book from the top of the shelf, Yao Tang grabbed it and started to read.
Her gaze shifted to the familiar language, appearing to be fluent in English. She read through the pages easily and quickly.
Within a glance, she had already covered over ten lines.
It didn’t take long for her to turn to the next page.
She spent the next hour reading. As the night had grown darker, however, she could feel her own eyes growing tired. She took a deep breath and headed into the bedroom for a good night’s sleep. The next morning, Yao Tang sent a message to Meng Yangbefore arriving. When she finally arrived, she saw a hot plate of breakfast sitting on her desk.
She sat on the chair and crossed her legs, like a big boss who had just arrived at her office. She reached for her heated milk and took a sip, sighing as the sweet taste ran down her throat.
Meng Yang came in through the backdoor just in time, stuffing his bag into his desk drawer. “Where did you go yesterday?”
“Hm?” She rested her chin on her hand. “I was taking a video of Sheng Ting’s new song.” Sheng Ting had been promoting a new song for months now. However, as he couldn’t find a female lead to play in her music video, it’s been continuously delayed due to him firing his female lead due to some disagreements.
Because of this, there were tons of photos that had been leaked about the video.
Yao Tang tilted her head.
Xiao Pang, who had also been a fan of Sheng Ting, whirled around. “What did you say?”
Meng Yang’s mouth twitched. “Really? You’ve been dreaming a lot, huh?”
She cocked up her eyebrow in reply.
Did he really think that she was dreaming this entire time?
Thinking that she was joking, Xiao Pang sighed. “I know that Sheng Tingis an icon. With over a hundred million fans on Weibo, I could see why you’d like him.” He leaned over. “Filming a music video might be a bit too much – you have to be careful of his other fans.”
“Hey, what if she really did take a video of him yesterday. I mean she knows that Sheng Ting’s filming his video there, so she must have some stolen shots of him.”
Xiao Pang nodded readily.
That must be the case!
In other words, Sister Tang had some inside information on his new video!
Excited, Xiao Pang immediately leaned over. “Hey, Sister Tang, do you know what he’s dressed as? What about the female lead? I know he fired the last one, but…did she come back?”
Yao Tang simply averted her gaze.
Instead of discussing more of the topic, she simply turned to Meng Yang. “The homework,” she stated before grabbing her copy.
