Xie Limo pulled Yun Bixue’s hand and sighed gently. “If you really want to hit her, use a weapon or let the guards do it. Must you use your own hands and hurt yourself?”
Yun Bixue withdrew her hands. She pursed her lips and stared hard at Xie Limo. “Is she your old flame? Why didn’t you tell me that she showed you her body?”
Xie Limo caressed Yun Bixue’s head. “Don’t you trust me?”
Throwing a tantrum, Yun Bixue turned away and softly said, “Of course I do. I was just angry that she insulted you! You can look at anyone else except her! What a lunatic.”
Xie Limo held Yun Bixue’s hand and gently kissed it. “The guards are still watching. I’ll tell you more when we return home.”
Yun Bixue didn’t budge at all, so Xie Limo could only wrap his hands around her body and pull her forward. “Be good and listen to me. You can ask me anything once we’re home.”
Yun Bixue noticed the pain in Xie Limo’s eyes and knew that he would definitely take care of her hands first when they returned home. She nodded and said, “Okay then!” Deep down, she trusted Xie Limo. However, she thought that he must have suffered back then and wanted to know why. Most importantly, she blamed him for not telling her what happened.
After taking a few steps, Yun Bixue turned around and looked at the other person who tried to attack her. She didn’t know him but thought that that person was definitely acting under Shen Jingcui’s instructions. She would definitely force something out of him.
“Bring these two back. I’ll interrogate them myself.”
“Yes.”
Right after saying this, the sound of a muffled gunshot rang. The other person, who was lying on the ground, had a bullet that pierced through his skull, killing him instantly.
Everything had happened too quickly. Yun Bixue hadn’t expected it at all, so the two of them turned back immediately and looked at where the gunshot came from. They merely saw a gun at the rooftop of the building opposite them, but they didn’t see anyone.
Xie Limo immediately sent a group of his guards to search and capture the shooter. He then turned back and looked at the dead man on the ground. He instructed calmly, “Bring him back. He’ll still be searched.”
“Yes.”
Yun Bixue’s heart thumped so quickly. With raised brows, she said to Xie Limo, “That gunman wanted to silence him!” She thought that she and Xie Limo had been dangerously exposed earlier. If that person were to fire at them, they would surely be hit.
Xie Limo seemed to know what Yun Bixue was thinking. He answered gravely, “That person’s target isn’t us for now. Also, he definitely knows that even if he were to fire at us, he wouldn’t be able to hit us.”
Yun Bixue turned pale and asked, “That person didn’t shoot Shen Jingcui, so that means that we can’t get any valuable information from her.” She thought that everything that happened today had been too sudden. Also, she recalled what Miao Zifu had said over the phone a few days ago, and she suspected that it was Chu Fei’er. However, she didn’t have any concrete evidence, so she could only continue searching.
Xie Limo patted Yun Bixue’s back and comforted her silently. He then calmly and solemnly relayed instructions to the guards. “Take her with you.”
Yun Bixue looked around her. “Should we activate the security system in Ning An City to catch that person?”
“This is our personal matter, so we’ll settle it on our own. If we were to alert the citizens of Ning An City, it would blow out of proportion.”
Yun Bixue nodded and followed Xie Limo to the car. However, her heart still couldn’t calm down—she had too many questions to ask. However, after seeing Xie Limo’s cold expression, she didn’t probe any further.
Later, when the car drove past the sea, they heard some loud shouts.
Yun Bixue noticed two people who seemed like they were embroiled in a fight near the bridge. There were a lot of people surrounding them.
She frowned. Squinting her eyes, she stared hard at them and found one of the women very familiar. The other woman was carrying a child, and they were arguing about something. Their fight seemed to be growing louder and fiercer.
