  The pair standing at the hospital’s entrance quickly drew the attention of many because of a certain CEO’s extraordinary good looks.

  Meanwhile, Pei Ge felt really discomfited from the many envious and jealous gazes she was receiving.

  The corner of Pei Ge’s lips twitched at this, and she passed the bottle of mineral water in her hand to him.

  “Cold.” He gave her another sidelong glance once he took a sip of the water.

  Repeating this mantra to herself and breathing out the stuffy feeling inside her, she proceeded to put the other stuff in her hands into her bag and grab Ji Ziming’s palms to warm them for him.

  She grumbled inside while keeping his hands cupped in hers.

  As soon as they got off the car, she noticed that this man was like a prominent and very conspicuous beacon, so she decided to give this man a wide berth.

  Who knew that he would seem to be bent on torturing her by asking for water first and then warmth next? He was really treating her as a maid.

  Now, not only did she have to be part of the attraction with him, she even had to suffer from all the dagger-like glares from the female population.

  She involuntarily shivered from fear at the thought of this. She could already see a bleak future ahead of her.

  “What’s wrong?” He frowned when he felt the little woman beside him shiver. His lips had perpetually curved upward since he felt the warmness of her hands enveloping his.

  She woke up from her morbid thoughts at his question.

  Tilting her head upward, she noted his well-sculpted features and magnificent aura and felt more stifled and depressed inside.

  “Nothing.” She shook her head as she continued to grumble about the man inside.

  “Don’t worry; your mom will be fine.” He, who could obviously not read minds, only thought that she was worried for her mother. He of course would not expect that she was in fact complaining about him inside.

  A surge of guilt spread inside her when she heard him comfort her.

  Her expression gradually turned solemn as she thought of this. “Yes, mom will definitely recover from this.”


  As the two stared into each other’s eyes, Zhang Manhua’s voice cut in.

  The two did not notice how amorous they looked at that moment.

  They looked like a couple deeply in love with the way their hands were clasped together and their eyes peered into each other. Anyone looking at them would see it as a sight to behold and be envious of their relationship.

  “Mom, you’re here!” Pei Ge quickly let go of the man’s hands out of guilt when she heard her mother’s voice and turned to face her.

  The man’s forehead scrunched up at the loss of warmness around his hands.

  He turned to look at Zhang Manhua, who was still a distance away, and at this act of his, the latter noticed her mistake.

  “Hm?” She was extremely confused.

  The lost her stopped beside Pei Ge and shifted her eyes between the two.

  “Hello, Auntie. My surname is Ji and not Wen.” He seemed to be calm and collected, but from his tone of voice, it was clear that he was emphasizing something.

  Pei Ge instantly caught on to the man’s unhappiness. He was unhappy that her mother had gotten him and Wen Qimo mixed up.

  She nudged her lips and grumbled about him inside again.

  “He he! I know; I know. You are Xiao Ji. I still remember you, child!” Zhang Manhua grinned, not catching on to his displeasure.

  If it were before, he would only point at Pei Ge and his mother as the only people who could make him angry and helpless. Now, he had to add one more person to that list.
