  “Do you know where Ziming went?”


  He put down the teacup and gave her a warm smile, his eyes fixed on her.

  “Ah?” She paused to think and then shook her head blankly.

  She really did not know where he went.

  “Senior, if you have something urgent to consult with Ziming, just directly call him.” She smiled at the man.

  “Ah, you don’t know.” He nodded and then slightly raised a brow.

  Somehow, his action gave her an ineffable feeling.

  “Yes, I don’t know……”


  Noting the desolation on her face, the lips of this man moved ever so slightly.

  “Can you tell me who chased whom between you two?” he probed further, noticing her inattentiveness.

  “Ah?”


  She really did not know how to answer his successive questions.

  “Why? Is this very hard to answer? Aren’t you two dating? There must be one chasing another first before two people can get together,” he pointed out with a smile.

  His light-hearted remark only gave her immense pressure.

  “It should be…… him chasing me,” she replied after some hesitation.

  “Is that so? It’s Ziming who chased you, huh. Now, I’m a little curious……”


  An almost unnoticeable smile crept into his face as he asked her further.

  However, before he could ask another question, she quickly interrupted him.

  “Ah, senior! It’s pretty late already.” She yawned. “I’m a little sleepy and want to go back to bed.”


  When she yawned, he stared at her for a few seconds. Just as his expressionless face was starting to make her uncomfortable, a warm and gentle smile appeared on his face.

  “I overlooked that. I didn’t notice that it is already late, so I shan’t bother you further.”


  He stood up from the sofa and smiled at her.

  While his smile was very gentle and warm, she still perceived something weird about it.

  “Senior, take care.”


  Once he was out the door, she inwardly sighed in relief.

  “Ah!”


  Just as she moved to close the door behind the man, he suddenly stopped and turned around.

  “.……” The corner of her lips twitched when he suddenly turned back.

  She was wrong this time, though. He did not ask her about anything else but—


  “As your senior, I think I should tell you something.”


  The smile on his face slowly disappeared as he gave her a serious look.

  “Mhm?” Affected by his serious attitude, her expression also turned solemn.

  “Although I don’t know why Ziming will like you, I must still say this to you.” He pursed his lips and stared at her hard.

  “Please properly treat this relationship. Ziming is usually an apathetic person with nearly cold-blooded looks, but he’s actually a very devoted and faithful man.”


  She was slightly stunned by his words, not expecting him to say such things.

  Still, when she heard him describe Ji Ziming, her heart turned soft as a sweet smile graced her lips.

  His next words made her heart heavier with each syllable.

  “You are his second girlfriend. He was deeply in love with his first girlfriend, but his family unfortunately didn’t agree to it, so they were forced to break up……”


  She widened her eyes in shock.

  Meanwhile, as though he did not notice her shock, the man continued emphasizing his words seriously.

  “I didn’t expect him to actually fall in love and date you, so I hope that you’ll properly protect this relationship and not hurt him……”


  He gave her a serious look as his clear words slowly drifted into her ears……

  Instantly, the photo that had slipped out of the man’s book drifted into her head.

  “Pei Ge? Pei Ge?”


  Drowning in her thoughts, she only regained her senses when she heard Fu Mingxuan’s voice.

  “Eh, senior! You’re still here?” she asked dazedly.

  “Are you alright? You don’t look okay.” He looked worried.

  She tugged her lips and gave him a slight smile. “I’m fine, senior. You should go back; I’m really sleepy.”


  “Mhm-kay. Rest up. Good night.”


  Once he left, her smile vanished at once. She then leaned against the closed door heavily.
