Chapter 1498 - What is wrong with pigs? Pigs are very cute.
“I shan’t talk to you further; I’m going down. If I don’t go down, I’m afraid that Qu Jingwan will be up here to call me again.”
“Alright. Let’s go; I’ll follow you down.”
Ji Ziming hugged the woman and opened the door, only to see their daughter coincidentally walking past their room.
The girl heard the sound of the door opening, so she blinked her eyes and turned around. She then saw her daddy hugging her mommy as they exited their room. Her mommy was even blushing while looking very shy.
“Daddy, did you and mommy just wake up?” She looked curiously at the two as one was in his pajamas while another was in her office attire. The girl pouted and remembered her grandma saying that her parents could not sleep in the same room.
“Hmph! Daddy, you’re occupying mommy’s room again. Mommy is mine!” She was unhappy because her mother was obviously hers. Why did her daddy keep occupying her mommy room whenever he wanted?
“Daughter, I just came to your mommy’s room to call her down. It isn’t what you’re thinking.” The man squatted and picked up his adorable daughter while speaking gently. “Come, let daddy carry you. I’ll bring you downstairs for breakfast, alright?”
“Really?” The girl tugged on her pigtails and did not believe his words. She clearly saw her father coming out of her mother’s room, but why did he say that he was just calling her down for breakfast? “Hasn’t Auntie Jingwan called mommy earlier already?”
“Really. Let’s go. I’ll bring you down for breakfast.”
“Mommy, you must follow us while being careful.” She leaned on her father’s shoulder and looked at her mother, who was standing behind them. She sounded worried. “Be careful with the steps and try not to slip again.”
“Alright. I’ll be careful, so don’t worry anymore.” Her mother smiled in response.
For breakfast, Madam Ji prepared several nourishments for Pei Ge, and they were all the best kinds for pregnant women.
“I thought about it last night and decided to hire a nutritionist home to prepare dishes for you specifically. We must be extra careful with our family’s baby.”
“No need for that. Auntie Zhang’s dishes are pretty good, so there’s no need for the trouble of hiring a nutritionist home.”
Pei Ge hurriedly rejected this suggestion and regretted it even more that she had agreed with the man to hide the truth from his mother. Having eaten the nourishments prepared for her by the older woman, she only grew fatter yet her tummy remained flat.
“Back then, I didn’t know about your pregnancy, so you had to take care of the babies by yourself while you were overseas. It’s different now as you’re here with us. This is my family’s blessing, so just listen to me and don’t ask anything else. If you want to go out, you can go with my son. If you don’t wanna go out or go somewhere else, Jingwan and I can accompany you.”
The older woman smiled affectionately at her, but it only caused her to feel guiltier.
“That’s right; Pei Ge, if you want to do anything or go anywhere and Ziming happens to be busy, auntie and I, as well as the children, can accompany you.”
Qu Jingwan smiled; her scarlet lips seemed like the morning sun’s first splash of red.
“No need; thank you.” She outrightly rejected this. She was not pregnant, so she could go anywhere, and even if the man was busy, she could manage on her own.
“Mom, you yourself said it; she’s the most important member of our family. Even if I’m busy, I’ll always have time to accompany her, so don’t worry.”
Ji Ziming had a sip of the milk and coolly cut the egg on his woman’s plate before giving it to her back. Sitting opposite the woman, Qu Jingwan’s eyes darkened. She clenched her fists under the dining table.
She swore in her mind. Alas, at the moment, she could only smile despite the woman’s cold rejection. What she had to do now was to wait for the latter to expose herself and gather new evidence about her fake pregnancy.
“That’s right; son, aren’t you going to the office today?” Madam Ji peeled an egg and placed it in the bowl in front of Pei Ge. “Come have an egg to get more protein.”
Pei Ge silently stabbed herself twice. At the pace the older woman was feeding her, she would definitely get fatter.
“Right. I’ll be in my office this morning and to another one for a meeting this afternoon.”
“Don’t bring her along when you’re out for a meeting.”
“She wants to go because the meeting is organized by her.”
“If that’s the case, take good care of her.”
“Yes, I will.”
Ji Ziming nodded and placed the biscuit in his hand on his woman’s plate.
After breakfast was done, the man returned to his room and changed into a suit. He then knocked on Pei Ge’s door. “Can we leave?”
“Coming, coming.” She was in her room assigning homework to her daughter. When she heard his knocking at the door, she quickly told the girl, “Have you understood what mommy told you?”
“I understood, mommy; don’t worry.” The girl blinked her eyes and the intelligence in them gave her the confidence to clutch unto this last straw.
“That’s great, then. Mommy and daddy will be going to the office. You must stay obedient at home.”
“Mhm, I’ll remember it. Mommy, make it fast.” The girl waved to her with eyes full of reluctance.
“Mhm. I’ll be back as soon as I can today, so you must be good for mommy.”
She left the room under her daughter’s reluctant gaze, and as she closed the door, she said, “Let’s leave now.”
“Why are you so late?” Ji Ziming frowned. He clearly heard this woman talking to somebody when she was leaving, but she closed the door too fast, and he was uncertain on whether she was speaking to their child or was on the phone.
“I was talking to our daughter. I told her that she must drag me upstairs the moment I get back home today.”
Pei Ge did not notice the weird look in his eyes as she explained swiftly.
“Are you so afraid of my mother now?” The man smiled, followed by the disappearance of his cold look. “Even our daughter is being used by you to counteract my mother’s plans.”
“I’m not afraid of her, but I really can’t stand drinking another bowl of that nourishing soup. If this continues, I’ll become a pig.”
She felt aggrieved deep down, but the man pretended not to notice.
“What’s wrong with pigs? Pigs are very cute.”
He smiled dumbly at her. While he was teasing her, he was choosing which car to drive today.
“You’re a pig.”
She said the second half in her heart. Given the man’s venomous tongue, she had no idea how he would refute her if he heard this other half.
The man stopped beside his black Lincoln as the butler held the keys. “Young master, do you want this car?”
