Chapter 1621 - Everything has been settled.
The assistant, who had been frightened by her violent action, stood rooted to the spot. Her hands, which were holding the cup earlier, were now trembling profusely and she could barely speak properly.
“Ma…… Madam, I-I didn’t say that you can’t order us anymore.”
She could only deny what the elderly woman was accusing them of.
“Is it? If I can still order you, why aren’t you listening to me?”
Old Lady Qu had lost control of her temper. She did not expect Qu Jingwan to cause her such a big trouble. Now, the latter was waiting for her to fix it for her.
“What do you want me to do?”
The assistant was close to crying. She merely wanted to stay and do her job well in the Qu Group.
“Go and see how’s that idiot brother of Ellie now.”
The assistant knew that this was an impossible task. Those five or six men did not even want to get close to him, so how could a woman like her do it? However, since it was the elderly woman’s order, she could not reject it and had to put up a bold face.
“Yes, madam; I will do that now.”
Upon receiving her order, the assistant fled the place as if her lifespan would reach the negative if she stayed any longer.
She knew that even if she visited Ellie’s brother, she would be unable to complete the task. Ji Ziming was well-known in the capital even to junior employees, much less her.
Once the assistant was gone, the elderly lady in the chair appeared to have aged all of a sudden. The despair on her face followed her around. She had been scheming for many years; Li Meiyue was the first, and now it was Ji Ziming.
She had a great goal in mind, but her failure came too swiftly.
She slumped in her chair as her empty eyes gazed at the sun outside the window. It was as though she had lost all life in her. She could no longer afford to fail again. Ever since Pei Ge returned from overseas, her plans seemed to have been failing one after another. It was as if that woman had the ability to foil all her plans.
Her phone on the table rang. The call was from an unknown number.
A look of doubt flashed across her eyes, but she still picked it up.
“Madam, everything has been settled.”
There was finally good news today.
Old Lady Qu’s foul mood suddenly dissipated, and she smiled instantly. “Alright, I got it. You’ve worked hard.”
The plan was carried out stealthily, and since there was bad news, there would be good news, too.
After sitting in the room for a while, she called someone to clean the office. Looking at the mess in the room, which was filled with broken cups and torn paper, she felt a sense of satisfaction envelop her.
Meanwhile, on another end, a certain couple showered and put on their clothes.
The blouse Pei Ge was wearing was torn by Ji Ziming earlier. The transparent button fell onto the floor and became an eye-sore all of a sudden, as though a silent witness to what had happened here earlier.
Auntie Zhang was preparing snacks for the children on the first floor, and when she saw them coming down, she suddenly swallowed all the words in her mouth.
Standing at the entrance, she said respectfully, “Young master, young mistress, come home early.”
Ji Ziming, who was at the entrance, turned around and smiled at Auntie Zhang. The smile was so wide that it terrified the latter who was baffled. “Prepare some of your madam’s favorite dishes tonight; we’ll be back for dinner.”
“Yes, young master.”
Upon hearing that, she was elated. Her master and madam had finally reconciled, and the house would be filled with joy again.
If Ran Ran had not broken the vase worth over 200,000 yuan in the kitchen, her great mood could have lasted for a few more days. When the vase fell, her heart followed suit. It crashed onto the ground and could neither be mended nor glued together.
The man brought his woman to the office. Manager Wang and Ellie had been waiting outside long ago. When they saw him in his gray suit as he entered the office with Pei Ge, they quickly followed and informed him of what Qu Jingwan had committed.
“I get it.”
The man remained silently while the male manager narrated everything that had happened. The elevator doors opened, and he looked on as the man brought Pei Ge to the CEO’s office. He stood on the same spot for a while before returning to his department.
“What do you think?”
Standing in the elevator, Ji Ziming asked.
“I think that Qu Jingwan likely did it, needing no more investigation.”
She laughed and told him her conclusion.
The VIP elevator was much more spacious and luxurious than the regular elevators. Pei Ge had not noticed this previously, but when she looked closely now, she noticed that there were several lamps on the top with gemstones decorated around them.
She did not figure out what that meant and could only wonder the reason for Ji Ziming choosing such a design.
“What are you thinking about?”
The man could sense her thinking deeply and followed her gaze to the lights on the ceiling. “Those are crystals; they’re leftovers of the chandelier in the lobby. The designer placed them on the lamps to make the lights appear even more beautiful.”
Upon seeing that he had seen through what was on her mind, she blushed.
The elevator doors opened finally, and she was the first to get off.
Following behind her, Ji Ziming’s lips curled. It seemed that this little woman had forgotten that this was his territory.
The moment she entered the office, she noticed the flower on the balcony blooming at its finest. The sunlight was strong, and the floral fragrance was great.
“What flower is that?”
“No idea.”
He shot a look at the flower and could not remember what flower it was.
His vision was then attracted by the folders on the table. Other than his secretary and the person whom he trusted, nobody else could enter his office.
“Ge Ge, come look at this.”
He picked up a document on the table; it was data of Pei Ge’s company.
She went to him and took the document from him. Her face changed as she flipped the document, all the while looking as if she were facing her greatest enemy.
“This is my company’s confidential information which can’t be revealed. Why is it here?”
Her voice was trembling; she did not expect such a terrifying thing to happen in his office.
