Chapter 1718 - Is that Yellow Chick Me?
Ji Ziming looked up and saw the three children still standing at the door. They were looking at him with a dazed expression and his voice suddenly softened. “Okay, I want a cup of green tea and it must be this year’s new tea. The water’s temperature should not be too hot, just medium temperature.”
Pei Ge was relieved to hear that Ji Ziming’s words were not as cold as before. As long as Ji Ziming was willing to stop pestering her, she would not have any problems.
At least, there was no problem with Butler Charlie.
“Okay, then go sit there and rest. I’ll get you guys some in the kitchen.”
Pei Ge put down her hand that was holding Ji Ziming’s, but she was held tightly by him. His domineering strength made her unable to break free.
“Ge Ge, you promised me that you’ll make some dishes today.”
Ji Ziming seemed to be showing off his affection in front of Butler Charlie on purpose. However, the person affected was not Butler Charlie but the bodyguard chief standing at the side. From the moment he worked for Ji Ziming, he seemed to have forgotten what a woman was like.
“I know. I’ve prepared everything you want to eat today, but don’t blame me if it doesn’t taste like what you want.””
Pei Ge sounded playful as she looked at Ji Ziming with watery eyes.
“Okay.”
Ji Ziming nodded and thought to himself that Pei Ge had always been the best at cooking. Even if it was bad, it would not be too bad. However, when he was about to eat at the dining table, he regretted not preparing for the worst.
For example, the plate of braised fish in front of him was not much better than burnt braised fish.
Pei Ge persuaded the three men to sit in the living room while the bodyguard chief continued standing at the staircase like a pine tree.
The three children followed her into the kitchen happily. How could the huge kitchen not have enough space for the three children? However, not even a minute after they hid in the cupboard, Zhang Manhua’s voice came from afar.
“Why aren’t you calling me grandma when you guys are here? Do you want to see what grandma is cooking for you guys?”
Zhang Manhua had always doted on the three children. She doted on them even more than she did on Pei Ge back then.
Ran Ran was the first to run out. Her bun hairstyle made Zhang Manhua dote on her and could not bear to reject her request. No matter how troublesome it was, as long as Ran Ran said it, Zhang Manhua would do it.
Looking at this little girl’s face, she felt like she was looking at Pei Ge when she was young. She was so lovable and one could not bear to pinch her cheeks.
“Grandma, I want to eat something delicious.”
Ran Ran blinked her big eyes and looked at the dough on the table.
There were pink piglets, yellow chicks, and a white polar bear.
“Grandma, what are these?”
Ran Ran looked at the novelty and did not know when her grandmother became so amazing. Not only did she know how to make so many cute little animals, even the smell was different from the ones made by the chefs at home.
“These are all the little animals that Ran Ran likes. Does Ran Ran like them?”
Zhang Manhua reached out with her finger that was holding the flour and lightly tapped on the tip of Ran Ran’s nose. A ball of white flour stuck to the tip of Ran Ran’s nose. Her skin was fair and translucent, and because of this ball of flour, she seemed even cuter.
“I love them. Are they all for me?”
Ran Ran smiled and her white teeth were exposed, revealing her dimples.
“Yes, they are all for Ran Ran, but Ran Ran can only choose one. The other two are for your two brothers. The three of you will get an animal each. If you still want other animals in the future, grandma will make them for you next time, okay?”
Zhang Manhua laughed out loud. She was in a good mood and did not mind that Ran Ran had already used her little finger to scratch the pink piglet’s ear. The yellow stuffing inside had already seeped out slightly.
“Grandma, what is this?”
Ran Ran looked at the yellow filling and asked in surprise.
“Ran Ran, take a guess. If you’re right, grandma will reward you, alright?”
Zhang Manhua looked at the yellow filling. It was something she had specially brought back from America and was rare in the country.
“Really? Then, you must keep your word. I’ll definitely guess it.”
Ran Ran might not have guessed it, but she cleverly pulled An An and little Ji Chi out of the cabinet. The two brothers followed her out unwillingly.
“Hurry and take a look. What is this? I haven’t seen it before.”
Ran Ran pointed at the pink piglet beside Zhang Manhua. The yellow filling inside had already flowed onto the table.
“Let me take a look.”
Ji Chi walked up to her. He was wearing a suave suit and was clearly taller than Ran Ran by half a head. His handsome face and Ji Ziming’s expression were so similar.
“I haven’t seen this before. Little sister, why don’t you ask grandma?”
Ji Chi felt a little helpless. Since he could not help Ran Ran, he was also a little disappointed that Zhang Manhua did not prepare a surprise for him.
“Ping An, take a look at this white polar bear. Guess what grandma put inside.”
“Do I have one too?”
Ji Chi raised his head and looked at Zhang Manhua with surprise and slight heartache.
“Of course, why not? Grandma must have prepared for all three of you.”
Zhang Manhua did not know if her unconscious biasness had given the boy an illusion, but she would not let it continue.
Just two days ago, when she was on the phone with Pei Ge, she asked about little Ji Chi’s condition. She knew that he would only remember his past if his family helped him regain his memories bit by bit. It was also because of this that Zhang Manhua’s return trip was delayed by a few days.
Her motive was to find his favorite food he had when they were together.
It was Zhang Manhua’s idea to make it look like a polar bear, but it was her intention to let Ji Chi guess what was inside the polar bear.
“Grandma, is that yellow chick mine?”
An An walked up and looked at the yellow chick on the table with a look of fondness.
“Of course. Does An An like it? If not, grandma will make you a new little animal tomorrow.”
