Ever since he found out that the two ladies in Hidden Fog Teahouse were Kung Fu masters, Zhang Zian seemed to understand a lot more about the situation.
Wing Chun originated from Shao Lin martial arts. Lady Yan Wingchun made it famous. It focused on skills more than power. It was perfect for girls to practice. Although the two ladies were not as great as Old Time Tea, who was an Elfin, they could easily beat up a few robbers. Maybe they even had some unseen weapons…
“I followed you home because I knew that they would be fine without me,” Old Time Tea smiled. “When you have a minute, we can go back to the teahouse. Ms. Ye is your senior in Kung Fu.”
Zhang Zian replied seriously, “Sure. When we have time, I will bring some gifts and visit her.”
As long as Old Time Tea was willing to stay, he was willing to go to the teahouse every day.
Well… going to that teahouse everyday might make him bankrupt. He could afford to go maybe once a month…
Old Time Tea laughed, “You don’t have to… We don’t have to go in. As long as we watch them from a distance and know that they are doing well, I am happy.”
Zhang Zian really felt that Old Time Tea deserved every penny he spent in that teahouse.
Old Time Tea was such a sweet cat. It didn’t care about fame or benefits. Its personality was so calm and pure. Honestly, it could’ve left Zhang Zian, gone back to the teahouse and enjoyed the fresh air and tea up in the mountain. Old Time Tea not only stayed for him, but also fought for him and protected him when he was in trouble.
Old Time Tea hadn’t betrayed the Ye family. It just took benevolence and righteousness more seriously.
In fact, even if Zhang Zian hadn’t mentioned the Hidden Fog Teahouse, Old Time Tea was planning to mention it to him anyways. It wanted him to connect with Ms. Ye so that she could teach him Kungfu after it passed away.
Old Time Tea didn’t tell Zhang Zian these thoughts because it was unnecessary.
Being dead or alive was not that important to Old Time Tea anymore. Death was a way it could go see its friends and family. They had been waiting for too long.
“Zian, it is getting late. Let’s continue the search,” Old Time Tea said.
Zhang Zian and Old Time Tea left the observatory and walked down the stairs.
Including the observatory, there were 30 stories in the building. The first floor and second floor were opened up as one story. There were a few storage rooms for the cleaning crew, a security guard office and bathrooms. Therefore, he had 27 more floors to go.
29th floor, nothing.
28th floor, nothing.
27th floor, nothing.
…
Zhang Zian walked down one story at a time. Soon, he was familiar with the layout in the building. There were two enormous classrooms on each level, a few small classrooms and a teacher’s office.
Some classrooms had classes going on. Some were filled with students doing their homework. Some were blocked for small groups doing activities. Awkwardly, Zhang Zian walked into an orchestral group and got weird stares from students.
The search was a great challenge to Zhang Zian. He started questioning himself, did I miss something?
Besides the floor numbers, every level looked extremely similar. To Zhang Zian, it was like walking in a recorded video, which made the search even more boring.
His cellphone vibrated to remind him low power mode was turned on. The camera was turned on the whole time so it consumed power quickly. his cell phone was fully charged before he left, but it was in low power mode already. Fortunately, he came well prepared with a portable charger. Otherwise, he would’ve been forced to give up the search.
After connecting his cell phone to the portable charger, Zhang Zian walked in a small classroom and saw a familiar person.
It was a small office with six desks and a couch. There were two people in the room: the guy who wanted to buy Fina and a person who looked like a teacher.
It looked like a biology teacher’s office. Every desk had related textbooks and references. Zhang Zian wasn’t sure if they were books for bioengineering, biotechnology or bioscience. There was a contact list on the wall and a few skeleton models in the corner.
The guy who wanted to buy Fina was facing the other way. It looked like the two were arguing about something.
The noise of Zhang Zian opening the door stopped them and they both turned around.
“It is you!” The guy who wanted to buy Fina frowned his eyebrows. “What are you doing here?”
He looked at the teacher and asked curiously, “Do you know each other?”
The teacher, who was a young man replied, “I was going to ask if you know him.”
“Nope,” Zhang Zian and the guy both said.
They spoke almost at the same time. They looked at each other and turned around, embarrassed.
Funny! I don’t want to be friends with such an arrogant person! They both thought to themselves.
“Okay… That’s fine,” The teacher looked at them both, “I am telling you. You are asking for too much. Yes, I am going to Egypt for work and I am interested in ancient Egyptian cats, but they became extinct long ago. Where would I be able to find one for you?”
“Okay, stop!” The guy who wanted to buy Fina looked at Zhang Zian and stopped his teacher.
Zhang Zian was amused. So, this guy still wants an ancient Egyptian cat? That’s impossible.
“Professor Wei, I am leaving. I will come again sometime.”
The guy pulled a long face and walked to the door, grumpy. He stared at Zhang Zian and said, “Let’s go!”
“Why should I go?” Zhang Zian asked.
“Why are you here?
“It is none of your business!” Zhang Zian was tough.
The teacher was afraid that they would start a fight. He stopped them immediately, “You’d better go… You are…”
“He is not a student here,” The guy who wanted Fina said.
“Well, why do you care?!” Zhang Zian was mad, “I want to enroll in a Master’s program!”
Without waiting for Zhang Zian to finish, Professor Wei grabbed him excitedly.
“Do you really want to enroll in the Master’s program?” Professor Wei was thrilled and kept shaking Zhang Zian. “That’s great! I knew I could do it! Come fill out a form.”
