When one person died, the other wouldn’t be able to carry on living!
Even though Jiang Ming’an and Lu Xiangsi weren’t born on the same year, month, and date, they had died on the same year and month at the same place. They would be together even in death, as their ashes were laid to rest in the same urn.
It wasn’t a natural disaster nor a man-made calamity…
It was simply because Jiang Ming’an had lost his will to live with Lu Xiangsi’s passing. This was the choice he had made.
The second was Lin Nuan.
A 20-year-old lass, heading alone to a place like Iraq in the hope that the person she loved might still be alive. How much must she have loved him to be able to do that?
Fu Huai’an was envious and jealous at the same time. Deep inside his heart, he too yearned for a love like this.
Lin Nuan was taken aback by his reply…
He hugged her tightly in his embrace and whispered into her ear, asking, “Will you love me like you loved Wen Moshen?”
Lin Nuan didn’t know how to answer him.
There’s a saying that true love only happens once, that one can only be consumed by passionate love for that single person.
Lin Nuan didn’t know for sure if she had loved Wen Moshen to that extent or that he was the one in the first place. If he was indeed the one, Lin Nuan didn’t know if she was capable of loving another person as deeply.
If he wasn’t the one…
She thought of how it had been initially. She didn’t want a love that was grand and spectacular; instead, she yearned for an ordinary and down-to-earth life.
Lin Nuan loosened her grip on Fu Huai’an’s waist. She didn’t have an answer for him.
Lin Nuan definitely had feelings for Fu Huai’an… she could even say she had fallen in love with him.
Yet, their time together was too brief for her to come to any conclusion… Although things were going smoothly thus far, she couldn’t be certain as they hadn’t experienced anything life-changing together.
She buried her head in his chest and raised her head after a long pause. “Are you competing with my past?” she asked in a clear and gentle voice.
His gaze was deep and tender as he kissed Lin Nuan on the forehead. His calloused hands rubbed her shoulders gently, and he said, “I am just envious… and this is my hope! Because… Lin Nuan, I love you!”
Lin Nuan’s hands were still wound around Fu Huai’an, and her hands on the back of his waist tightened when she heard him utter the words “I love you.”
Lin Nuan had initially planned on asking Fu Huai’an if he would also love her as much as he loved the woman before her.
But Lin Nuan had already gotten her answer when he uttered the three words.
She clutched the back of Fu Huai’an’s shirt subconsciously as a myriad of emotions came over her.
…
Tuan Tuan was unhappy that he had been sent to his kindergarten bright and early. He slumped on his table listlessly and listened as his rowdy classmates made a commotion in the classroom.
The teacher had brought Little Candy to the office and held him there for half an hour as he had sat on a classmate’s back to hit another classmate. When Little Candy returned, he behaved as though nothing had happened and dragged a chair over to sit opposite Tuan Tuan as he wanted to play with him.
Seeing how listless Tuan Tuan was, Little Candy rolled up his sleeves to reveal his fair and chubby arms. He put one leg on the chair and clenched his fists and asked as fiercely as he could, “What’s the matter Tuan Tuan? Did someone bully you? I can beat the person up!”
Tuan Tuan glanced at Little Candy and recalled meeting him and his mother yesterday. He hesitated for a moment and asked, “Did your mom sleep with you last night?”
Little Candy put down his leg upon hearing his question and plonked onto the chair.
He nodded. “Yes! Mama works as a bodyguard in the day! She’s my bodyguard at night. But my mama keeps saying I’m ugly so I don’t want to sleep in the same room as her. I want to sleep with my grandma!”
