In the eyes of Fu Tianci’s mother, Fu Tianci was fooling around with all that songwriting and wasting his time forming a band!
Furthermore, Fu Tianci’s mother didn’t think much of his songwriting abilities and didn’t reckon Fu Tianci was talented in this aspect!
The only reason she agreed was that she expected Fu Tianci to shrink back from difficulties once he hit a roadblock. After, he would never again touch those things like the guitar that infuriate Fu Qingquan.
Because he was still underaged, he had to get his guardian’s signature to participate in the contests. Fu Tianci’s mother couldn’t stand his pleading with her when she was hospitalized and finally signed after reaching an agreement with him.
But who knew that Fu Tianci would manage to get through the auditions and even clinch high popularity in the first round.
Lin Nuan recalled what Fu Huai’an said about making a trip to the Fus, then took another look at the injuries on Fu Tianci’s face. She could guess that Fu Tianci’s family objected to his participation in the contest.
On the day of Fu Tianci’s contest, Lin Nuan had been dragged to the recording by Bai Xiaonian. Objectively speaking, from Fu Tianci’s singing and songwriting skills, he did have talent in this area.
Having heard this from Fu Tianci, Fu Huai’an nodded. “Then hurry up and eat. Sleep earlier once you’re done eating…”
Actually, Fu Tianci had a ton to say to Fu Huai’an regarding the Kaide Corporation!
But, with Lin Nuan around, Fu Tianci ultimately didn’t say anything and only focused on eating the rice in his rice bowl.
Although Lin Nuan’s cooking wasn’t comparable to that of those five-star chefs, eating her home-cooked food gave one a sense of comfort.
…
The meal came to an end…
“Ding-dong—”
The doorbell rang, catching Lin Nuan by surprise. Who would show up at this hour?
Oh no! He forgot to cancel the delivery order he had placed in a moment of spite, surely it wasn’t the food delivery? Why was it so fast today?
Fu Huai’an set down the chopsticks in his hands and exited the dining room. As he opened the door, he saw a uniformed delivery boy with the takeout in his hands. “Hello sir, your food delivery…”
Fu Huai’an said in a steady voice, “We didn’t order takeout. Did you get the wrong place? Call the customer and check again…”
He was about to close the door when Fu Tianci rushed over, hurriedly saying, “It’s mine! It’s my order!”
Fu Tianci went past Fu Huai’an and took the takeout, scurrying back into the kitchen in an instant. The delivery boy’s voice could be heard behind him. “Have a pleasant meal, please give us a 5-star rating!”
Fu Huai’an nodded, his brows knitted.
The delivery boy was unable to ignore the imposing aura exuded by Fu Huai’an. He had originally wanted to ask if there was any rubbish and offer to help clear it, but he swallowed back those words and only managed an awkward smile as he turned around and fled.
“I had wanted to treat you guys to little lobster pizza, then I forgot to cancel the order.”
Fu Tianci placed the takeout on the dining table, not daring to mention the pasta. There was only one serving of pasta, which would have made it obvious he was ordering for himself.
Thankfully, Fu Tianci had deliberately ordered more little lobsters in spite, so it did look like he had ordered it to share.
“I can’t eat too much at night.” Lin Nuan took a glance at Fu Tianci’s hand, which had a thick layer of ointment applied over it. “You have injuries on both your hand and your body, so don’t eat too much spicy food!” Lin Nuan reminded as she cleared away the bowls and chopsticks.
Fu Tianci smiled, his mood cheerful, and nodded. “Got it.”
…
Lu Jinnan only left the room after seeing that Bai Xiaonian had fallen sound asleep.
He called Tang Zheng on his phone. “Where?”
He hung up after getting his answer, the chilliness in Lu Jinnan’s eyes causing one’s hair to stand.
Half an hour later, inside the semi-detached villa in Qing Liangshan…
A man and woman who had been beaten up so badly they were hardly recognizable saw the transparent plastic film laid across the ground. They instantly realized what was going on, and their minds blanked out as they cried and begged to be let off.
The ground was covered with transparent plastic film so as not to leave a trace of blood after killing someone!
It wasn’t as if they had never done something like this in the past!
Despite their pitiful cries, the people guarding them maintained a look of apathy and coldness on their faces.
The pair tied together vaguely saw someone outside, so they kept screaming for help in that direction.
Tang Zheng and Lu Jinnan stood in the never-before-renovated basement, outside of the semi-transparent plastic film.
Tang Zheng tapped away his cigarette ash and said, “You didn’t have to bother yourself with this matter. Old Fu said not to leave any room for future trouble, so these two definitely won’t be left alive. Why take this extra step yourself?”
Lu Jinnan bit onto the cigarette in his lips, both hands in his pockets, and his lips arched coldly as he listened to the cries from within. “Rather than leaving it in my heart, I want them to die knowing the truth, otherwise, they really might think they were avenging their father!”
“What for? They’re going to die anyway!”
Tang Zheng’s heart ached for Lu Jinnan having to open his wound again…
Lu Jinnan didn’t reply as he walked next to the racks and picked up a baseball bat. This was what they normally used to force the truth out of people; the bats were probably stained with countless people’s blood.
Precisely because of this, the baseball bat appeared especially sinister.
Lu Jinnan carefully picked one and placed it next to his leg as he removed his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves. After the white smoke dissipated, his narrowed, deep eyes appeared so peaceful that there wasn’t a sign of life in them.
Revealing the scar on his arm, Lu Jinnan raised his hand and took a final puff from his cigarette before throwing the butt to the ground, sparks bouncing off of it.
Lu Jinnan strode forward with his long legs, his leather shoes stepping over the cigarette butt, cruelly extinguishing those last few sparks as he walked towards the area partitioned by plastic film.
Using the baseball bat to draw open the curtains, Lu Jinnan entered the area. The pair of siblings with their hands tied behind them shook with fright at the sight of him and the blood-stained baseball bat in his hands. They were trembling with fear.
Lu Jinnan’s eyes were narrowed as he blew white smoke from his mouth.
This was a man with blood on his hands, and the entirety of Haicheng knew it, so it was impossible for the siblings not to be afraid!
“Lu… Lu Jinnan! What do you want with my sister and me? Do you not know that what you’re doing is illegal?”
The badly beaten up elder brother tried to put up a show of strength in spite of the trepidation he was feeling in his heart.
This made Lu Jinnan laugh out loud. “The crimes I have committed… are way more than the meat you have eaten! Do you think I’m afraid?”
There was a chilly coldness in Lu Jinnan’s laughing voice, as if a lethal snake’s tongue had slithered its way into one’s ears, causing one to shiver.
“We… We… We haven’t done anything! It was Young Master Wang who forced us to seek trouble with you! We didn’t touch your woman, she jumped down of her own accord, it’s not our fault. Let go of us, and we promise not to call the cops! Please… I beg of you! My brother and I know how to keep our mouths shut!” The younger sister choked as she pleaded with Lu Jinnan to let them off with her reddened eyes.
The corners of Lu Jinnan’s mouth turned up as he calmly strode in their direction.
The pair of siblings were so startled that they kept trying to shift backwards, the elder brother’s attempt to hide behind his sister apparent.
