Chapter 790 - Better Than He Anticipated
Huo Changfeng composed himself. He hesitated before he looked into the rearview mirror and asked. “Do you have any more medication?”
He had asked a professional about the medication earlier and was told that the medication was very hard to make. Also, it was especially hard to come up with the prescription. It was impossible for an average apothecary to come up with such high-quality medication without a few decades worth of training.
Huo Yao tapped her knees gently. “Why don’t you tell me more about his condition?”
Huo Changfeng candidly told Huo Yao about what the doctors’ had reported about his condition. “… That’s more or less everything about his condition.”
“From the sound of it, he has serious heart problems,” answered Huo Yao quickly.
A look of surprise rose in Huo Changfeng’s eyes. He simply told her about Master Jinfeng’s symptoms and she was able to tell that he had heart problems.
Her medical skills were probably far better than she had let on.
Huo Changfeng was clearly excited. He paused before he continued candidly. “He took a shot in the chest when he was young…”
Huo Yao narrowed her eyes.
It sounded like her eldest uncle had quite a history.
After hearing what Huo Changfeng said, Huo Yao concluded. “The bullet shards didn’t get removed entirely when he underwent his first surgery, right?”
Huo Changfeng was blown away when he heard this and even Chen Ming almost wanted to step on the brake. He looked into the rearview mirror and finally realized how incredible Huo Yao was.
“Uh huh. He had to undergo a second surgery. Since heart surgery is always very risky, he almost died on the operating table.” Huo Changfeng could not help feeling sombre as he thought about the past.
Huo Yao nodded. She was unaffected by Uncle Changfeng’s dark aura. “It is common for complications to arise from a second surgery.”
Huo Changfeng gathered his thoughts when he realized that it was rude of him to behave this way in front of Huo Yao. He cleared his throat and composed himself.
Huo Yao contemplated for a couple of seconds and said, “Why don’t I concoct some new medicine for you to take back to him for now? This medicine will only be able to help ease his ailment, but it cannot cure him for good.”
Huo Changfeng suddenly caught on to what she was implying. “Miss Huo, does this mean he can be cured permanently?”
Perhaps any other doctor would have said no, but Huo Yao replied calmly. “It’s no big deal.”
All she had to do was perform acupuncture.
Huo Changfeng went into a daze when he heard what she said.
Many Chinese and Western physicians had concluded that Master Jinfeng could only suppress his pain by medication. However, Huo Yao claimed that it was no big deal. If he had not witnessed how effective her medication was previously, he would not believe what she said.
The car went into silence and Huo Yao also said nothing as she looked out of the car window.
Her phone rang. It was her father calling.
She answered the phone without telling him that she was in Uncle Changfeng’s car. She simply said, “… I will be home soon.”
Huo Changfeng could hear the conversation as well, but he said nothing and looked into the distance profoundly.
From the looks of it, it was time to have a little chat with Huo Jinyan and Song Ning.
The car pulled up at the estate entrance ten minutes later.
Huo Yao did not tell Chen Ming to drive the car into the estate. She waved them goodbye before going home.
Huo Changfeng told Chen Ming to leave only when she finally disappeared from their sight.
They sat in the car in silence for a couple of minutes before Chen Ming finally said, “It seems that Miss Huo is a very mysterious person.”
