Chapter 85: Where Did This Woman Get Her Confidence From?
Zhuang Heng replied with a look of disgust.
Lin Chenggong’s smile stiffened for a while and he stared at Zhuang Heng with an icy cold gaze.
Soon, he looked at Yan Jinyi and said, “Are you Yan Jinyi? You’re prettier in person. I’ve heard some things about you and Cheng Ruoxue. Jinyi, you’re one of the very few in this industry who can fight.”
Yan Jinyi did not immediately answer Lin Chenggong. She first drank a glass of fruit juice, and then slowly said, “You are…”
‘What do you mean?’
Lin Chenggong boastfully felt that there were no actors in the entertainment industry who wouldn’t know who he was. He felt that Yan Jinyi was doing it on purpose.
He felt that she was deliberately putting up such a pretense because of Tao Wei’s instigation.
“I’m Lin Chenggong.”
Pretending like she had a sudden realization, Yan Jinyi said “Oh, you are the director of ‘Islander’. Don’t worry, we won’t be merciful when it comes to fighting for box office sales.”
‘Wah…’
‘Where did this woman get her confidence from?’
‘Will the film be a huge success just because Second Young Mistress Huo invested in it?’
‘I’m certain that Tao Wei’s film will definitely flop!’
“Senior, do you still lack resources now? For example some supporting characters or special effects crew. Feel free to tell me, I’ll help you solve your problems.”
“Drop the act. There are no strangers here, there’s no need for you to pretend. Lin Chenggong, you and I both know what you are like.”
Lin Chenggong’s gaze turned dimmer and he thought, ‘So you want to be dealt with the harsh way, huh?’
‘And Yan Jinyi is just a background actress. How dare she give me that attitude? With a single command, no one else except Tao Wei will dare to hire her.’
‘However, this woman’s figure is really great.’
Yan Jinyi did not miss the glimpse of greed that flashed in Lin Chenggong’s eyes.
She suddenly took a step forward with a glass of wine in hand, and the wine in the glass spilled onto Lin Chenggong’s expensive clothes.
“Oops!” Yan Jinyi exclaimed. Glaring at Zhuang Heng furiously, she hollered, “Zhuang Heng, why did you bump into me!?”
Zhuang Heng blinked and looked at Yan Jinyi innocently, feeling wronged. “I…”
“Look, Director Lin’s clothes are spoiled by you!”
Lin Chenggong looked at his suit, heartbroken and wishing he could strangle Yan Jinyi on the spot.
He was close, so he knew clearly whether Zhuang Heng had bumped into Yan Jinyi or not.
So, Yan Jinyi spilled the wine on him on purpose!
‘Is this woman tired of living?!’
The commotion attracted a lot of attention, and many members of both production teams began gathering around them.
“Zhuang Heng, apologize to Director Lin!”
“Does he deserve my apology?”
“Mind your words, he’s a famous director.”
“How famous is he? Is he as famous as me?”
Yan Jinyi sulked a little, regretting her decision to stage that with Zhuang Heng.
‘This fool is still in the mood to compare level of fame?’
The conflict between Lin Chenggong and Tao Wei soon escalated into a huge conflict between the two sides because the members began gathering there.
“Hey, isn’t that Director Tao and Zhuang Heng? Zhuang Heng, thank you for agreeing to star in Director Tao’s film and thus giving me a chance to work with Director Tao as the male lead of his film.”
The person who said that was Zhang Yilei, the male lead of ‘Islander’ and Zhuang Heng’s rival.
He looked more like a gigolo than Zhuang Heng did.
After hearing what he said, Zhuang Heng smiled and cast him a disdainful glance. “I’ve never wanted to cooperate with him in the first place. Don’t compare me with you. Are we of the same class? Are you also a Best Actor titleholder?”
Zhang Yilei was exasperated.
‘Why are Zhuang Heng’s fans so capable?’
“You must be Yan Jinyi, right? You rose to fame because of your violence. You’re really quite suitable for the role of a female bandit. This role doesn’t require much skill. You just need to beat up people,” Zhang Yilei said, targeting Yan Jinyi instead because he failed to insult Zhuang Heng.
After saying that, Zhang Yilei even acted like he had given her some good advice.
