Chapter 261 - More Like His Sister
Song Qian asked her to film without worries. AI Li followed them in case there were enemies nearby.
With both of them following her, Yun Xiangxiang was even morez worried about her home. She couldn’t focus the whole day.
“Cut!” Du Changrong stopped the filming. He went to her side, frowning. “You slipped today.”
They were almost finished with filming. Du Changrong was familiar with Yun Xiangxiang’s quality of work. She couldn’t immerse herself into the character today.
“Sorry, Uncle Du,” Yun Xiangxiang was ashamed.
As a professional actor, she should always focus on filming and never bring her personal emotions into her job.
Filming was business. Everything else was private matters. There must be a clear distinction between them. Today, she blurred the line.
“We are humans, not robots. Following the programming code isn’t how we live,” Du Changrong advised. “I’ll give you a day off. Go finish your business.”
Du Changrong would be more lenient toward outstanding actors. Yun Xiangxiang’s progress exceeded his expectations. He could delay filming for even a week, let alone one day.
“Thank you, Uncle Du.” Yun Xiangxiang was grateful.
One day might not be enough to settle this, but she needed the time to refocus.
They changed to a hotel which was still near the crew. He Wei reserved a whole story to keep her safe.
Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t stop him. But since she was only here for a few days, He Wei would call the shots.
Even Yi Yan and the others had to live downstairs to ensure nobody suspicious would come near.
When she came back, someone came out from the left. He was a tall, muscular man in casual wear.
Yun Xiangxiang looked at him puzzledly. He nodded politely.
He went past Yun Xiangxiang and knocked on the door on the right. The guy who got it was another muscular man. “Miss Yun is back.”
He Wei soon appeared from the room. Yun Xiangxiang realized what was happening. “Brother Wei, you hired them?”
“Not me. I can’t afford them,” He Wei beckoned her inside.
There were more muscular men inside the room. Nobody would notice anything different if it were one or two about them. But if a group of them was there, people could notice that the way they carried themselves was different from any civilians.
Yun Xiangxiang figured it out, “You guys were asked by Han Zhaolin to protect me, right?”
“Yes,” one of them replied. “There are six of us. We are staying in the rooms on your left and right. And also the room across from yours.”
“Thank you for your hard work,” Yun Xiangxiang was grateful.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want to get so many people involved, but if she needed them to leave, she could only do it through Han Zhaolin.
“Don’t mention it,” one of them was a babyface. He was a more sporty guy. “I have a question, Miss Yun.”
“Ask away,” Yun Xiangxiang gave him her permission.
“Are you Captain Han’s girlfriend?”
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t expect this question. The guy beside him punched him, but they were anticipating the answer.
“I’ll have to let you down,” Yun Xiangxiang smiled. “I think I’m more like your captain’s sister.”
Han Zhaolin was six months older than Song Mian. Qi Jun was the youngest among the trio. He was twenty-six.
“I can’t believe the Second Master snagged her first!” One of them was incredulous.
Yun Xiangxiang only smiled. She did not elaborate. She knew Han Zhaolin had a brother. His men were unexpectedly gossipers. Yun Xiangxiang left it to their imaginations.
Their reserved first meeting became livelier. Yun Xiangxiang found out why they gossiped.
They didn’t want her to feel too awkward. But she was a girl. She couldn’t stay in a room with so many men. She only stayed for a moment before she returned to her room.
Yun Xiangxiang quickly called Song Qian. “Is everything fine on your side?”
“Don’t worry. I got some men over. We have faced situations ten times worse than this one,” Song Qian consoled her gently. “Besides, the cops have sent some men here. I have contacted them.”
“I do not doubt your skills. I’m just worried.” Worry meant chaos. Chaos would disrupt her clear mind.
“I understand. Let me tell you our plan,” Song Qian only had this way to calm Yun Xiangxiang down.
The criminals’ every move was now under their counter-surveillance. If their guess were correct, they would infiltrate Yun Xiangxiang’s house today or tomorrow when Song Qian would pick Yun Lin up at night.
The front door was modified. Her fingerprint couldn’t unlock the door. Song Qian had to unlock it by entering the password.
The front door was a blind spot for the CCTV on the staircase. The modification was done to prevent anyone from stealing the door’s password.
Song Qian didn’t check where the door was modified to not alert the criminal. But she was sure their password was stolen.
Song Qian had already installed hidden cameras around the house. Both floors had them. They were connected to her phone. No matter where she was, she could see everything in the house.
They weren’t making a move not because they needed to catch them in the act, but because they wanted to know how many people the gang had.
“They only tampered with my house and the house below, right?” Yun Xiangxiang was puzzled. “Why weren’t they aware of the unit upstairs?
Song Mian bought both units.
“The owner’s name is different,” Song Qian explained. “To prevent anyone from investigating you, he forged a contract that said you rented the unit below.”
Where Yun Xiangxiang lived would be exposed once she got more famous. Everyone knew the house prices here. If they knew she had two units at the same time, they would slander her again.
If Yun Xiangxiang lived in a house, not under her name, people would still suspect her. The management here was excellent in keeping the owner’s identity a secret, but no system was foolproof.
“They couldn’t find out who you and Ai Li are, right?” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t expect Song Mian to be so meticulous.
If these criminals knew who Song Qian and Ai Li were, they wouldn’t be so brash.
“Of course they can. But it’s not necessarily real information.” These petty thieves were nothing for Song Qian.
The most they could do was finding out that she and Ai Li were martial arts practitioners just like Coco.
It was done to protect Yun Xiangxiang. They didn’t want anyone to know who they were. They could find their perfect counters for fighting them.
Being underestimated was the key to eternal victory.
