Chapter 247 - Joy’s New Friends (1)
At the end of the day, the matter was resolved temporarily after each of them took a step back.
Duan Yarong agreed to let Zhao Youlin look after Mu Tingfeng in the hospital for several days, provided she must go along with her.
Seeing Duan Yarong’s determination to go along with her, Zhao Youlin did not have much to say about it. She wondered what was Mu Tingfeng’s reaction when he saw Duan Yarong.
Fine. She did not want to admit that she was looking forward to it. Ahem…
After her major concern had been settled, only then did Duan Yarong recall Zhao Youlin had not taken her lunch since the morning after going through all her troubles.
She shooed the men away like how she shooed the flies off so that they went back to their work. She rose up from her seat and went over to the kitchen lady, asking her to prepare some food for Zhao Youlin to fill in her tummy.
Zhao Youlin heaved a sigh of relief. After eating some food and resting for a short while, it was about time to fetch Joy from the kindergarten.
Originally, Duan Yarong had asked Zhao Youlin to rest for a while longer, and she would ask Xiao Jingyao to help out by taking the trip. However, Zhao Youlin insisted on doing it on her own. So, Duan Yarong had to let her go.
Zhao Youlin stood at the kindergarten entrance. From a far away distance, she saw Joy obediently let the teacher hold him as they were walking out. Several children around his age were surrounding him. They were chatting with him along the way.
Joy obediently replied to them. He occasionally laughed bashfully, and he looked especially adorable with his reddened face which was perhaps due to playing.
The corners of Zhao Youlin’s lips curved upward. She shouted at him, “Joy!”
When Joy heard a familiar voice, he immediately turned back. His eyes sparkled when he saw Zhao Youlin was waiting at the entrance.
He let go of Ms. Shen’s hand, dashed over and lunged at her, “Mommy, mommy…”
Zhao Youlin squatted. She stretched out her hands and pulled the child into her arms. The moment she smelled his familiar milky scent, she felt her exhaustion throughout the day had dissipated.
“Ms. Zhao,” Ms. Shen and the children followed him, and they smiled at Zhao Youlin.
Zhao Youlin held Joy’s hand. She rose up, and she smiled while asking, “Ms. Shen. Thank you very much. How was Joy in kindergarten today?”
“You’re welcome, Ms. Zhao. Joy is very obedient. He didn’t cry. Instead, he has made a few friends,” While Ms. Shen was speaking, she asked the children to come over. The children who had been surrounding Joy a while ago came forward. She introduced her to them, “She is Joy’s mother.”
The children looked at Zhao Youlin curiously. Soon, a discussion broke out.
“Joy, your mother looks so young!”
“Yes, and she looks very pretty too!”
“Indeed. She’s prettier than the so-called goddess on television. I also want to have a pretty mother like Joy’s!””
“I also want…”
“I also want one…”
Joy was initially proud when the children praised her mother for being young and pretty. However, soon, his expression quickly changed. He grabbed Zhao Youlin’s hand tightly, and he set up a defensive posture. He shouted, “Mommy is mine!”
The noisy children froze when they heard Joy’s shout. Zhao Youlin was the first to react to this. She caressed Joy’s head, and she comforted him, “Joy, don’t be like this. They’re just joking with you. No doubt, each of your own mothers are the best, don’t you all agree?”
The children were young and seemed to not understand Zhao Youlin. Upon listening to Zhao Youlin’s words, they found that they had said the wrong things. They hurriedly apologized to Joy, “Yes, yes, yes. We were just joking around. We won’t take your mother away from you. Joy, don’t be angry.”
“Joy, did you hear them? I’m yours. No one could take me away from you.”
Joy cast a glance at Zhao Youlin. Then, he took another look at the children. After some time, he was convinced that his mother would not be taken away. He hid behind Zhao Youlin with his face turning red.
Zhao Youlin knew his son was feeling embarrassed. She patted his hand to comfort him. Then, she turned around, and she said to the children, “Joy is new here. Please take care of him in the future.”
Although the children were young, they behaved like adults. They jumped upon hearing her words, and they resumed their previous chattering. They vied for each other, expressing their thoughts that Joy was so cute, and they would surely play with him and befriend him.
Zhao Youlin was rather confident with her son’s charisma. She was happy to see her son greeted warmly by so many children when he just joined the kindergarten. She smiled as she said, “In the future, Joy would count on you all. We have to go back home now. Joy, say goodbye to your new friends.”
Joy was a little embarrassed over the issue just now. Even so, he obediently heeded Zhao Youlin’s advice, and he bid farewell to the people. He said, “See you all tomorrow.” Then, he happily held Zhao Youlin’s hand, and they left the kindergarten.
Unbeknownst to Zhao Youlin, right after she took Joy and left the kindergarten, among Joy’s new friends who grouped together just now, a young girl lunged in the opposite direction clumsily.
“Ling Yuemei, how many times do I have to repeat myself? As a girl, when you stand, you have to stand properly, when you sit, you have to sit properly, and even when you walk, you also have to walk properly. Look at you, you walk like a female bandit!” A sloppy-looking and thin young man came down from a luxurious BMW sedan. He was looking in the direction where the girl was pouncing onto him. He sighed a few times, looking disappointed because the girl had failed to reach his expectations.
The girl’s action of lunching at the young man froze upon hearing his words. She stood in place, and she rolled her eyes at him in a graceful manner. She sneered, “If I’m a female bandit, how about you, Uncle? Are you the great bandit, or a bandit leader?”
Ling Ran choked. He looked at his niece seriously, and he said solemnly, “I think I should go back and discuss with Big Brother and sister-in-law about your philosophy in life.”
“And you would realize you’ve lived your last few decades for nothing.”
Ling Ran thought to himself, ‘Is this lass becoming the spirit of this art?’
The second master of the Ling family knew very well that he could never gain the demon king’s favor, so he shut his mouth up. He went over, took down the young lady of the third generation’s school bag, and he asked her routinely, “Anything interesting happened at school today?”
Ling Ran casually asked the question. Little did he expect Ling Yuemei to answer him, “Yes, there is. A very adorable boy came to our class today. Many children fought to play with him. I also played with him, and I even pinched his face. Mhm… not bad. His cheeks are soft. They are just as good as I’ve imagined.”
Ling Ran jerked his hand motion. He looked at his niece, who was telling him, like an adult, how she had molested a boy as well as the entire crime that she had committed. He felt his heart sinking.
‘My goodness! My dear little niece, what’s going on with that lewd tone of speaking as if you’re a dude who just molested a virtuous (wo)man? Don’t forget, you’re only a four-year-old child. Besides, the roles should be reversed, right?!’
