Chapter 259 - While Forcing A Kiss (1)
Zhao Youxi was delighted when Mu Tingfeng stopped them. She thought he had changed his mind. Little did she know the moment she looked up at him, she met his incredibly cold and sharp gaze.
Zhao Youxi’s heart clenched. A sense of bone-chilling feeling crept down her body, and she instinctively moved back.
“P-President Mu…”
Mu Tingfeng ignored Zhao Youxi’s trembling plea. He lifted the quilt from his body with his uninjured hand, and walked toward Zhao Youxi.
The man wore an ordinary patient gown. He looked especially pale as a result of blood loss, and after spending an entire night in delirious pain.
As he was approaching her, one felt an imposing and innate aura that naturally came from a man, who undoubtedly was standing at the highest end of the world.
Zhao Youxi looked at the man obsessively as he approached her. The bodyguards seemed to have gotten Mu Tingfeng’s hint from his gaze, and they let go of Zhao Youxi.
“President Mu…” Zhao Youxi was so happy that she wanted to lunge at Mu Tingfeng. However, the next moment, she felt a tightness in her throat. She widened her eyes so big, and looked at the person in front of her incredulously.
“Did you just mention something about… the elevator?” Mu Tingfeng was clutching Zhao Youxi’s throat expressionlessly. His tone was so calm that no one could identify any hints of emotion from it. Yet, the increasing force exerted from his hand had expressed how furious he was.
Zhao Youxi’s expression changed. Only then did she realize she had unwittingly… made a slip of her tongue!
“No…nothing… I didn’t say anything… Cough…” Before Zhao Youxi finished speaking, she was interrupted by the increasing force exerted on her neck.
Zhao Youxi avoided Mu Tingfeng’s gaze. He already knew the answer.
Regarding the elevator accident, he used to suspect the person before him. Zhao Youxi was kicked out of Zhao Enterprise by Zhao Youlin soon after the accident which happened to be a coincidence, yet strange.
As such, he had asked Xia Zhetao to conduct the investigation. However, many things had happened as of late. Therefore, even though there were some clues about the accident, he had not come to a conclusion about it.
He never thought that even though he had not investigated the matter thoroughly, someone could not wait to come to him and confess her sins.
The force exerted by Mu Tingfeng grew stronger, and Zhao Youxi was breathing with increasingly more difficulty. Her legs gradually separated from the ground. She held onto My Tingfeng’s hand, the hand that he was using to clutch her neck, by all means. She could not even cry for help.
Mu Tingfeng’s abrupt actions had caught everyone by surprise. Zhao Youlin froze for some time before she recovered her senses. By that time, Zhao Youxi was already rolling her eyes, gasping for air.
“Mu Tingfeng, stop!” Without giving a second thought, Zhao Youlin dashed forward, pulled Mu Tingfeng’s hand away, and dragged him back.
Without his support, Zhao Youxi fell to the ground with a thud. She kept touching her neck and coughing.
“Let go of me!” Mu Tingfeng’s expression was so dark that it looked fearful. There was a storm in his eyes, and his gaze was filled with hostility.
No doubt, if Zhao Youlin had not reacted to this, Zhao Youxi would have been a corpse by now.
“What are you guys standing there for? Toss her out now! Do you really want to see someone get killed?!”
She did not care if Zhao Youxi was alive or dead. However, it would be very troublesome if her so-called sister were to die in this place.
Of course, Zhao Youlin hated to admit that another major reason she did so was because she subconsciously did not want the man’s hand to be covered in blood, especially not for Zhao Youxi. It was unworthy of him to do so.
The black-clad bodyguards were snapped out of their dazes upon hearing Zhao Youlin’s shout. They stood in place, took a look at Zhao Youxi, and another look at Mu Tingfeng, who was being held back by Zhao Youlin. They did not know what to do at that moment.
The person who wanted to strangle the woman to death was someone who provided for their bread and butter. However, the person who wanted them to toss the woman outside was someone whom their provider had taken great pains to curry favor with. Besides, they also did not want anyone get killed.
After weighing out the pros and cons, the bodyguards locked gazes with each other. They decided to toss the woman out first.
Zhao Youlin heaved a sigh of relief when the bodyguards dragged Zhao Youxi out of the ward. By the time she turned back, she met Mu Tingfeng’s deep gaze.
Zhao Youlin froze and was about to say something. Mu Tingfeng blurted out, “Can you let go of me… now?”
‘Let go of you?’ Zhao Youlin frowned in doubt. She gradually looked down, only to find… her hands had wrapped around Mu Tingfeng’s body without knowing when. She was hugging his waist very tightly.
Zhao Youlin fell speechless.
She pulled her hands back in embarrassment. She looked away, choosing to look at the window or the sky and scenery outside than meeting Mu Tingfeng’s gaze.
Mu Tingfeng did not seem to be bothered by this accident. He passed by Zhao Youlin, and walked out. He looked as if he wanted to go out and find Zhao Youxi, not willing to spare her until she was dead.
“Eh, what’re you doing?” Zhao Youlin noticed the situation did not look good. She could not care much less about her own embarrassment, and dashed over to Mu Tingfeng’s front, blocking his way. “She’s gone. Why do you have to follow her?! You won’t feel good unless she’s dead, huh?”
Mu Tingfeng paused mid-stride. He looked into Zhao Youlin’s eyes sharply. His gaze was filled with shocking, murderous intent.
Zhao Youlin looked up and met his gaze fearlessly. There was no sign of retreating from her.
The atmosphere inside the ward turned hostile, once again. After some time, only then did Mu Tingfeng snort with a gloomy face, “The elevator accident was related to her.”
Zhao Youlin froze, “I know.”
Upon hearing the two words from her, Mu Tingfeng’s expression grew increasingly dark. His expression was darker than night. He tried hard to hold back his anger as he said, “She tried to kill you.”
Although Mu Tingfeng had tried his best to hold back his fury, Zhao Youlin vividly felt his monstrous anger. This was her first time seeing Mu Tingfeng getting so angry. He looked scary.
Looking at Mu Tingfeng, an old saying about an emperor’s wrath that could get millions of people killed inevitably appeared in Zhao Youlin’s mind.
The saying was referring to a brute. Yet, she did not feel scared nor cowed at that moment. Instead, she felt an inexplicable feeling, ‘Perhaps, the reason why he’s so angry is because… of me?’
She tried hard to disregard the feeling of glee sprouting from her heart. Zhao Youlin faked a cough and said something which was against her own thought, ‘Even if this was the fact, it’s all about me, and has nothing to do with you. Why are you so angry… Mhm…”
Before Zhao Youlin finished speaking, she felt a sudden tightness around her waist. She swallowed her remaining words when the person abruptly bent down and pressed against her.
Zhao Youlin’s pupils shrank. Looking at his eyes, like a preying eagle staring at her, about to swallow her. Her heart tensed up. For a moment, she forgot to fight back.
