Chapter 472 - Crossed Paths with Someone (2)
Ye Yan paused for a moment before he answered in a low voice, “At that time, Ms. Su had told me that Ms. Zhao had to leave due to unforeseen circumstances. She left before she even had time to bid farewell to her blind date. Therefore, Ms. Zhao had someone to explain on her behalf in order to avoid her blind date from waiting any longer.”
Mu Tingfeng did not say anything. In his heart, he already confirmed that the person whom Su He had gone through so much trouble and used Zhao Youlin to draw close to was right before him.
Back at that time when he received the news from Su He, he had immediately rushed over to stop Zhao Youlin from attending her blind date. When he took Zhao Youlin and left the restaurant, he saw Ye Yan had arrived closely behind them. He was unhappy about it. Therefore, he had asked Xia Zhetao to think of a way to get rid of that annoying man.
At that time, he had not given clear instructions to Xia Zhetao. He had allowed the mighty secretary make his own decision.
Little did he know that Xia Zhetao’s solution to handle the issue was to call Su He and ask her to meet Ye Yan. As such, this had made her dream come true!
If Mu Tingfeng had speculated correctly and that Su He’s actual target was truly Ye Yan, could it be that Xia Zhetao had long learned about this?
Mu Tingfeng’s mind raced. However, he did not show his excitement on his face.
Seeing that Mu Tingfeng did not respond to him after some time, Ye Yan grew more anxious. He could no longer hold himself back and took the initiative to return to the topic, “President Mu, did you recall anything else?”
Mu Tingfeng recovered his senses. He looked at the anxious young man and said in a low voice, “President Ye, did you come here to meet me only for the sake of finding out why you have such a strange obsession over me?”
Ye Yan was stunned before he nodded affirmatively.
Ever since he heard Zhao Youlin’s analysis about the strange relationships among him, her and Miu Tingfeng, Ye Yan felt like something was obstructing his chest. He tried to breathe it out but it never came out. He felt very suffocated and annoyed.
At such crucial moments, he should be spending more time thinking about how to use various benefits on hand to strengthen his position in Ye Group which he had taken great pains to secure.
However, a voice in his heart kept reminding him that he had to… he had to figure out why he was so particular about Mu Tingfeng, or why he cared so much about certain things that were related to Mu Tingfeng.
If… If he did not make haste in finding out all these, he might be missing something that was very important to him. Something that he would regret for the rest of his life.
He instinctively felt that this time, he had to trust himself. He had to trust his own instincts.
Looking at the determination in Ye Yan’s eyes as well as his subconscious clenching fists dangling by his sides, Mu Tingfeng’s eyes flashed. He finally blurted out the main point, “If that’s the case, you should look for Su He.”
“Look for Ms. Su?”
Mu Tingfeng lightly responded to him. “If you’re truly the child in the photo, then we did meet each other a long time ago. However…”
“However what?”
“However, at that time, the person who had truly crossed paths with you was not me, but… Su He.”
“What?!” Ye Yan’s pupils shrank and stared at Mu Tingfeng dumbfoundedly. He looked in great disbelief.
He… He knew Su He? And had even crossed paths with her? Why did he not remember anything at all? Why…?
When Mu Tingfeng noticed Ye Yan’s very much shocked expression, this was his first time ever doubting his own decision. He was unsure if he had done the right thing in telling the matter to Ye Yan.
President Ye looked like he had some feelings for Xiao He.
If what he had speculated held true, then Su He obviously cared a lot about Mr. Ye as well.
As he thought it over, if Ye Yan were to stay together with Su He, they would have certainly made a good match of similar status judging from their looks and family background. At the same time, them being together could solve his problem and completely get rid of his potential love rival.
However, would things ever run so smoothly? In his heart, Mu Tingfeng dimly felt restless. He thought that things might not be as simple as they appeared to be.
Zhao Youming was strolling aimlessly on the empty corridor. Zhao Youlin’s words kept echoing in his mind. His eyes had lost their focus. They slowly turned red and were tinged with a hint of madness.
Just when Zhao Youming was about to lose control of the raging hatred in his heart and descend into madness, suddenly, he heard a commotion not far away from him along with an all too familiar voice.
“Get lost! All of you, get out of here now! I don’t want to see anyone now! Get the f*ck out!”
The young man’s angry shriek had caused Zhao Youming to pause mid-stride. He snapped out of his confused state. After he hesitated for a brief moment, he decided to walk in the direction of the chaotic noise.
“Yifei, don’t get so worked up, I’m just changing your clothes. Look, your clothes are soaked. You must be feeling sweaty and uncomfortable now.” Sun Fengzi’s flattering voice was heard. However, her condescending manner failed to achieve any substantial effect.
“Changing my clothes? Do I look like a handicapped to you? Do you need such a large group of people helping to change my clothes?! Get out now! Get lost!”
The loud clattering sound rose along with Zhao Yifei’s angry shout. A piece of expensive vase had miserably ended up as the certain dude’s punchbag.
Many people inside the house were scared out of their wits upon facing Zhao Yifei’s hot temper. They drew in cold breaths and subconsciously took a few steps back, including Sun Fengzi.
“Well, Yifei, don’t be so agitated. I won’t go near you, then. Okay, I won’t go near you. I’ll ask the rest to leave the room and let you change on your own. Don’t get worked up, stay calm.” As Sun Fengzi was saying this, she shot a glance at the servants.
The servants had their eyes wide open and looking at a loss. They did not understand what Sun Fengzi was trying to hint at them.
After all, the servants had a better understanding with Zhao Youlin, who lived in the main residence, compared to the so-called Third Madam who hardly appeared in the residence.
Sun Fengzi’s expression grew dark. She said sulkily, “Put the young master’s clothes over here. The rest of you, follow me and go out now.”
Only then did the servants snap out of their dazes. They put the clean clothes on the bedside in a flurry of motion before they returned to their positions. They were afraid that Zhao Yifei might throw his tantrum again and hurt more innocent bystanders.
“Yifei… Take your time to change. After you finish changing, take a good rest. I’ll go out now.”
“Get lost already!” Right after Sun Fengzi spoke, Zhao Yifei had already interrupted her impatiently.
Sun Fengzi was rendered speechless. A hint of embarrassment appeared on her face. She opened her mouth but in the end, she did not say anything. She took the rest of the servants and walked out of the room reluctantly.
