Chapter 53 Uncle Number 2 2
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Feng Tianyi frowned. He had no idea what He Lianchen was talking about. How did He Lianchen come up with such nonsense thoughts anyway?
"What?" He Lianchen said as if he could read what was in the devil's mind at the moment. "Look, you've never bothered with kids before, and certainly wouldn't volunteer to look after them. You also rarely cook meals for yourself and according to Fengyan, you've been doing it a lot lately. You even took the time to fix Tang Moyu's garden."
He Lianchen listed out Feng Tianyi's recent routine, which started ever since he moved in with the Tangs. At first, he didn't quite believe Song Fengyan's claim, but seeing it with his own eyes made He Lianchen wonder just what had happened to Feng Tianyi.
"Isn't that normal? How do you want me to treat those children anyway? Terrorize them so their mother would start to hate me too?" Feng Tianyi countered.
Still, He Lianchen felt that these sudden changes didn't make sense to him. Feng Tianyi was an arrogant man. He was a person who wouldn't bother to use sweet words or sugarcoat his opinion regardless of the person he was talking to was a woman or a child.
So what made the Tang twins special?
However, He Lianchen's thoughts were suddenly put on hold when he and Feng Tianyi heard the voices of the children, who appeared at the top of the stairs. Xiao Bao was holding his mother's hand like a little gentleman while Little Star helped their mommy hold the long tail of her evening dress.
"Little Star, watch your steps or you might trip." Tang Moyu's usual cold tone had a hint of warmth and affection for her children.
"Hai, hai. I understand, Mommy." The little girl responded with a laugh.
Feng Tianyi cast his eyes upwards towards the descending woman, his eyes slightly widening and jaws slacking at the sight. He'd always known that Tang Moyu was beautiful, but this time he couldn't help but admit that she was breathtaking.
He had seen countless beautiful women before, but Tang Moyu had something that could render him and He Lianchen speechless upon seeing her.
Her strapless dress interwoven with colors of light orange and gold hugged her body perfectly, while the silken and chiffon material flowed out behind her. The color blending beautifully against her pale skin and dark hair, as it cascaded down her back and around her face in large loose waves that curled at the tips.
Her delicate feet touched the wooden floor, the high heel of her shoes clicking on the dark mahogany.
"Ah, Mr. Qin, you're here." Tang Moyu greeted him as soon as she and her children reached the bottom of the stairs. Up close, Feng Tianyi could tell that she barely had any makeup on her face.
"I thought you've already left, but it seems that we are just in time to see you." He paused before glancing at He Lianchen. "Miss Tang, this is He Lianchen. He is my lawyer and financial manager at the same time." He introduced his friend to the empress.
Tang Moyu gave He Lianchen a slight nod.
"I didn't expect that Mr. Qin's friend is the second young master of the He family. Nice to meet you, Young Master He."
The He family was also popular within the city due to their massive wealth. Although He Lianchen was only the second young master, his achievements had easily surpassed his older brother's, making the rivalry between the two impossible to end.
"Pleasure to meet the empress. I also didn't expect Jiran would come across and be acquainted with you, Miss Tang." He Lianchen replied with a knowing smile, which was the truth.
Logically speaking, Feng Tianyi shouldn't get involved with Tang Moyu, but he ended up having a deal with her anyway. Poor Miss Tang. She wouldn't be able to avoid the pain of betrayal later once she found out the truth about Qin Jiran's identity.
At that moment, Li Meili decided to show up, grabbing everyone's attention. She was wearing a deep red halter evening dress and a pair of high heels.
"I just know you'll look good in that dress, Moyu. You look like a million bucks." She winked at her friend before turning her attention to the little buns. "Aww, Auntie Mei is sad. Where's my good luck kiss?" She pouted.
Little Star giggled before running towards Li Meili who lifted the girl from the ground, giving her chubby cheek a kiss.
"Say, did you miss me, Little Star?" She carried the girl with one arm and pinched Little Star's nose gently.
"Yes! I miss my pretty auntie! I keep thinking about you everyday." The little girl said with a laugh.
"That's more I like it! Give your mommy a good luck kiss too, okay?" Li Meili kissed the little princess again.
"Does mommy need a lot of luck tonight? Didn't you say mommy only needs to fight when she's at work?" Little Star tapped her chin as she gave it a good thought.
"Oh, darling. Even Mommy needs to fight with other women, regardless if she wants it or not." Li Meili placed the girl back on her feet and patted her head.
"Okay!" Little Star nodded her head. "I'll give Mommy lots of good luck kisses." She then paused as if she remembered something. "Does this mean Uncle Ji also need to give my Mommy a kiss?"
