Chapter 59 Miss Tang, Please Behave Yourself! 1
"I'm sure she didn't mean it." Feng Tianyi reassured her.
"R-right…" She could only agree, hoping that that would be the end of it. "Anyway, I hope they aren't giving you any problems."
Qin Jiran laughed on the other end of the line and Tang Moyu heard him moving away, telling Song Fengyan to play nice with the children.
"They've been good. Nothing's broken so far." He told her with a hint of amusement in his voice.
"I see. Please try to get them to sleep on time and don't allow them to eat sweets tonight."
When Qin Jiran didn't say anything in return, Tang Moyu wondered if he cut the line or what.
"Uhm, it's too late for the warning, Miss Tang. They just finished a pint of ice cream before you called." He confessed.
"You spoil them, Mr. Qin." Tang Moyu sighed.
"I know, I know. It's my fault alright. I didn't think that they would be like this with the sugar rush. Fengyan and Lian couldn't even keep up with them. We'll try to get them to sleep, so don't worry and enjoy your time with your friends."
While Tang Moyu didn't believe in the sugar rush myth, she had taught her children not to eat excessive sweets at night so they wouldn't have a hard time digesting their dinner and could sleep well.
Her twins might be overly excited to spend some time with Qin Jiran and their newly dubbed uncles. She was aware that her children didn't interact well with fellow children, but were comfortable enough talking to adults.
"Alright. I just called to make sure they're okay." Tang Moyu muttered before glancing back inside the banquet hall, seeing Li Meili waving a hand to get her attention. "I should go, Mr. Qin. Thank you for taking care of the twins tonight."
"Sure thing. Well, I'll let you get back to your night. Please enjoy and don't worry about them."
Tang Moyu returned to her seat and saw that the waiters had served the desserts. She started eating her share while Li Meili looked at her with suspicion.
"Say, Moyu. What do you think about Mr. Qin?" She asked out of the blue.
Tang Moyu stopped eating midway and frowned at her best friend's question. What was she up to again? She wondered.
"Li Meili." She warned her.
"What? I'm just curious. Look, even Qian is curious about what he looks like." Li Meili defended. "As a woman, how do you find him?" She grinned widely with a hand pretending to hold a mic, as if interviewing her.
As a woman, huh. Tang Moyu inwardly scoffed at that. Anyway, she would allow Li Meili to indulge in her curiosity this once.
"Which you are not!" Li Meili burst into laughter. Of course, she knew about Jiang Yunan's narcissistic streak.
"R-right… so…" she paused, trying to think about the crippled man currently living in her guesthouse. "I guess, he's a good man. He likes Xiao Bao and Little Star and he has never been disrespectful to me ever since we met each other." Tang Moyu added.
Li Meili hummed. It was good that Qin Jiran liked the little buns and the man wasn't bad himself. In fact, Tang Moyu was right. Qin Jiran's face was definitely more attractive than Jiang Yunan, who was one of the most popular actors these days. Come to think of it, they hadn't seen Jiang Yunan these days.
"So, has he told you if he was crippled since birth or was it an accident? I've been curious since I met him. He didn't seem like he was impoverished, considering his books sell like hot cakes. Didn't he consider getting therapy so he could walk again?" She asked.
"That's rude, Meili." Tang Moyu finished her dessert and sighed. Truth to be told, she wasn't satisfied with their dinner. She wondered what Qin Jiran had made tonight for her little buns. It was probably better than what she'd eaten here.
"There's no need for me to probe into his private life. Whether he was crippled since birth or not, it doesn't have to do with anyone, especially me. I never questioned him out of respect, not because I'm not interested to know the reason." She paused. "He must have suffered a lot to be able to deny treatments for himself. Each of us has our own inner demons to fight."
Li Meili decided to drop the topic right then. She was hoping to get more information from Tang Moyu about Qin Jiran, because honestly, she wanted to help the little buns with their mission to get Moyu a good husband.
How could they waste their chance when there's one hot, handsome author living next door?
Hours had passed and now it was time for the three to go home. Since Li Meili was the one who'll drive, she made sure not to drink much. Lin Qianrou also avoided anything alcoholic and enjoyed the night conversing with her new friend.
However, once they reached the exit of the hotel. They saw a small crowd outside, most of them women.
"Did some kind of hottie arrive?" Li Meili asked while Lin Qianrou shrugged.
It was rare to see women flocked around like this though. Surely, someone had arrived to get this much attention from everyone.
"Oh my gosh, it's Young Master Feng!"
"Is he romantic? He's here to pick up his wife!"
"I'm curious. Does he know that Tang Moyu would be here too, so he came to see her himself?"
Someone scoffed at that question.
"Why would he bother?"
