Chapter 85 Moyu Doesn’t Hate You 1
He couldn't concentrate on his writing because every minute he was awake, he was reminded of a certain woman who avoided him like he was an anathema to her. Was this her way to inform him that she truly didn't want to have anything with him, or was there something else he didn't know?
"Mr. Qin? Are you alright? You are spacing out."
Feng Tianyi wasn't sure when Auntie Lu appeared next to him under the weeping cherry tree. He was actually there to watch over the twins as they played with a new puppy he'd given them. It was a Siberian husky that he received from his mother to accompany him, but instead, he gave it to the little buns who fell in love with the pup the moment Song Fengyan brought him in.
"Am I? I was just thinking, Auntie Lu. I barely see Moyu these days. Do you think she hates me?" He asked the old woman.
Feng Tianyi knew he shouldn't be asking this, but for the love of God, he really had no idea what was going on in Tang Moyu's mind, and there was no way he could find out.
Auntie Lu let out a low laugh, as if he'd just told her a joke.
"Moyu? Knowing that child, I assure you, Mr. Qin. Moyu doesn't hate you."
She'd been with Tang Moyu for a long time. How can she not know what her Miss was thinking? Even after their return, Auntie Lu knew Tang Moyu better than anyone because she was practically the one who raised Tang Moyu like her own.
Auntie Lu was also aware of how unusually close Tang Moyu and her children were to Qin Jiran. At first, she couldn't understand why the handsome crippled man had to live with them, but as Auntie Lu continued to watch them interact with each other, it felt like it was the most natural thing to see like Qin Jiran with them. He had easily fit in with the family of three.
"Then why do I feel like she is avoiding me?" Feng Tianyi rubbed his temple as he felt another headache coming his way. He hoped that he could understand what was going on between him and Tang Moyu.
"Even if you feel like she's avoiding you, I don't think Moyu hates you, Mr. Qin. In fact, I think she's comfortable being with you. I haven't seen her being close to another person like that. She looks calmer when she's with you. Perhaps, there's a lot of things going on with her mind, Mr. Qin." The old woman explained.
Feng Tianyi took a moment to let her words sink in his mind. Perhaps, Auntie Lu was right. Tang Enterprise was in a critical situation right now and Tang Moyu couldn't afford to make a mistake or else everything she had worked hard for since she came back would be for naught.
"I hope you're right, Auntie Lu. Perhaps, I'm overthinking." He conceded.
"Do you know that the resemblance Young Miss has to Miss Moyu is uncanny? The first time I saw Young Miss, I thought I was seeing Miss Moyu as a toddler once again." She started. "I just lost my husband from an accident and had no family left when the Tang family hired me as a nanny for Miss Moyu."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Feng Tianyi said but Auntie Lu shook her head, brushing off his apology.
"It's okay, Mr. Qin. It's all in the past. I still think about my husband once in a while, but I know my life now is with Miss Moyu. You are probably wondering why I stuck around even though I should have retired and gone to live with my family."
When Feng Tianyi nodded, she gave him a smile.
"Miss Moyu is the only family I have now. When her mother gave Moyu to me to care for, I felt like she and I were the same. I was alone and didn't have a family. She has a family, yet she was no better than an abandoned kitten. Her mother despised her for whatever reason, I couldn't understand. No matter how bad her verbal abuse towards Moyu was, I could only watch on the sidelines, clenching my fists behind me and watch how Moyu became more and more distant from everyone with each passing day……"
So he was right. Feng Tianyi thought to himself. Tang Moyu suffered the same way he had with his father.
"But what people didn't know is that the Empress still had a heart that she hid from everyone. She's still a woman, a human who?still had feelings." Auntie Lu paused, remembering the old days.
"I remember when she was five years old, she ran away from home because of her mother. It had been raining the whole day because of a bad storm. When we found her, she was with a ten-year-old boy, holding her hand, hiding under one of the slides at the park. She told me that the boy told her that it was okay to cry, especially when no one is around. She even told me that she wanted to marry him and she decided to grow up to become a smart woman who could help him earn more money someday."
Feng Tianyi's jaws dropped at that. What? Tang Moyu had a puppy love whom she intended to marry, but it never happened? He couldn't imagine. Did she even remember about it?
"So Mr. Qin, I assure you she likes you. You wouldn't be living here if she doesn't."
