Chapter 123 Is It Just in Your Mind, Qin Jiran? 1
However, as she took a seat across the devil and the empress in the private jet owned by the Song family, the reality of going back to Shenzhen started to sink in her mind.
"What kind of deal did you offer my grandfather?" She asked the devil as soon as he settled next to Tang Moyu, who was busy checking her emails on her laptop. The ever workaholic empress was still the same. She couldn't even leave the company entirely to Lu Tianxin at this critical time.
Gu Yuyao felt guilty for troubling her friend and made a mental note to go back to work as soon as her time allowed her to do so. While Lu Tianxin was a big help for Tang Moyu over the management of their employees and dealing with Tang Enterprise's clients, Tang Moyu still needed to oversee everything, making sure that their losses would be at a minimum.
"Nothing that you should be worried about, but maybe you should give your grandfather a call and let him tell you the details himself." The devil replied before cupping his face with one hand, his eyes staring intently at the woman who was obviously ignoring him.
He Lianchen looked at them before taking the eyemask from his side.
"I'm going to take a nap. I suggest you do it too, Yaoyao. Unless you want to be blinded by these two." He muttered beside Gu Yuyao with annoyance. It still didn't sit well with him to watch the devil being affectionate with the cold empress.
Gu Yuyao frowned, not understanding what he meant. "Why?"
What about Feng Tianyi and Tang Moyu?
But instead of answering, He Lianchen shrugged, turned to his side and started napping. Their flight back to Shenzhen would be at least three hours long and he would rather sleep than witness the devil's failed attempts to flirt with the empress.
It took Gu Yuyao an hour before she understood what He Lianchen meant. By the looks of it, it seemed like Feng Tianyi was obviously smitten by her friend while Tang Moyu was having a hard time dealing with him.
"Pfft," she covered her mouth as Feng Tianyi glared at her. He still couldn't forget how the old man tried to set them up together, almost causing a problem between him and Tang Moyu.
"What?" He barked back at Gu Yuyao.
"Are you really a couple now, or is it just in your mind, Qin Jiran?" Gu Yuyao said, purposely using Feng Tianyi's pen name. Her voice filled with mockery.
"Hey!" Feng Tianyi scowled at her before turning to the empress who had just shut her laptop off and closed its lid. Finally, after an hour of focusing on answering her emails, she was done with work. "Moyu, you tell her."
"Tell her what?" She responded.
"Oh my, gosh! Just look at Sister Moyu's face. She definitely doesn't have an idea that you two were a couple!" Gu Yuyao burst into laughter until her sides hurt from too much laughter as Feng Tianyi's frown deepened in annoyance.
"Shut your mouth, Gu Yuyao. I don't care if I'm trapped on this wheelchair. I'll definitely find a way to kick you out of the plane if I have to." He threatened her.
"Moyu, you heard what Qin Jiran said right? If you want to date someone, you shouldn't choose him of all people!" Gu Yuyao said dramatically.
"Well, I wasn't even aware that you knew each other. Distant cousins on top of that. If Song Fengyan didn't tell me that you are his cousin, I wouldn't have figured out that you were actually familiar with each other." Tang Moyu ran her long fingers over her thick mane, allowing her long tresses to tumble behind her back in soft waves.
Gu Yuyao bit her inner cheek. She was guilty as charged. She should have told Tang Moyu much earlier.
"It's not that I want to keep it a secret from you, Moyu, but Qin Jiran and I just don't get along since we were young." She tried to explain, though she knew it was too late.
"And the reason for it is because?" Tang Moyu removed her outer black coat and folded her long sleeves up to her elbows. Looking at her, Gu Yuyao realized why some men couldn't stop themselves from looking at the empress. She was truly an enthralling person.
"Because according to her, I beheaded the toy robot she brought to school once." Feng Tianyi snorted upon remembering that particular memory of their childhood days.
He and Gu Yuyao once attended the same grade school in Beijing. At the time, he lived in Beijing for a few months with his mother when she had work to do there. She thought it'd be best to bring him along as his cousins were there. Being close to both Gu Yuyao and Song Fengyan as kids, he naturally became aware of Gu Zihao's death when it happened.
"What?" Tang Moyu asked incredulously. They were at each other's throats since their first meeting just because of an old argument they had when they were kids?
"Hey! In my defense that was a toy robot that I got from my brother, you dimwit!" Gu Yuyao hissed back at the devil. "He had a hard time getting one of those because it was a limited edition and your stupid ass took it from under my desk and let that chubby friend of yours ruin it!"
Feng Tianyi rolled his eyes.
"Come on, Gu Yuyao. I wasn't the one who found it, and in case you haven't realized, that fatty friend you were talking about was Song Fengyan. So please, can you annoy him instead of breathing down my neck?"
"……" Tang Moyu was rendered speechless on her seat. She pinched the bridge of her nose. Yes, she was definitely babysitting two immature beings right now.
