Chapter 151 Lu Tianxins Grievances 1
Her cousin had been silent for so long about her son's father, and now, she was confessing that the boy wasn't even hers in the first place? Just what the hell happened to Lu Tianxin and Ye Yimei eight years ago?
Lu Tianxin lowered her head and sobbed, hot tears streaming down her face. She wiped it with the back of her hand and sniffed. For the longest time, she'd hidden the truth from everyone, for fear that the Ye family would take Luo Luo away from her.
Luo Luo might not have come from her, but he was her son. The only reason she kept going even though life was hard for a single mother like her. People always had something to say about her raising a child alone without knowing the truth.
She decided to share this with Tang Moyu and her friends now because she knew she might need help. There's no point keeping it to herself. She can never hide it forever anyway. Her reunion with Ye Xiaozu wasn't something she was prepared for and she didn't know how to explain the circumstance to him without making him feel bad about it.
"That's right. He's my son, but he didn't come from me." Her lips quivered as she remembered those painful memories that brought her and Luo Luo together. "Luo Luo is Sister Yimei's child, but I am his mother on legal papers."
Tang Moyu considered the situation. If what Feng Tianyi said about Ye Xiaoting was true, Luo Luo's life would be at risk if he lived under his grandfather's custody. The empress's eyes hardened, mouth flattened at the thought.
"Bastard," she muttered to herself.
"Ye Yimei gave her child for you to raise? Who else knows of this?" She asked. Was this the reason why Tianxin wasn't comfortable about meeting Ye Xiaozu?
Tang Moyu initially suspected that Ye Xiaozu fathered Lu Tianxin's son, but she never imagined that the boy her cousin was raising wasn't even her own flesh and blood. Lu Tianxin faced her whole family's ire when she suddenly came home with a child, keeping mum about the father of her baby, even to her parents.
Lu Tianxin then slowly narrated the events that happened eight years ago. From the moment she found out that she could never conceive a child of her own to how she took Yi Yimei in after her father kicked her out of the family.
Ye Xiaoting wanted his daughter to abort the child, but Ye Yimei wasn't willing. Ye Yimei left her family and stayed with Lu Tianxin for a few weeks before another bomb was dropped on them.
"Miss Ye, you need to abort this pregnancy so we can start your chemotherapy. If you delay this any further, you won't last long." The doctor warned Ye Yimei, but the woman insisted on keeping her pregnancy until her baby reached a safe stage to be born without complications.
"He's beautiful, Sister Yimei." She muttered to the woman who was still lying on the operating table as the doctors were busy preparing her for another surgery to remove the cancer cells that were already spreading to her internal organs.
"Please take care of him for me, Tianxin." Ye Yimei teared up as she stretched one hand out to touch the head of her newborn child. Luo Luo was only born at 25 weeks and would need to spend time in an incubator for the following weeks.
"Don't let my father know that my baby is alive. I can't let my baby suffer the same fate Xiaozu and I faced." She told Lu Tianxin.
"What about Xiaozu? Shouldn't your brother know about this?" Lu Tianxin asked.
She had rejected Ye Xiaozu's request to be with him because she chose to stay with his pregnant sister. It was hard for her at that time, but she had no other choice but to chose Ye Yimei over her love for Ye Xiaozu.
Lu Tianxin couldn't understand why Ye Yimei was keeping the truth from her brother. He was her only sibling, one who really dotes on her. She shouldn't hide this matter from him.
"No, you shouldn't tell him, please." Ye Yimei begged her. "Don't tell him about the child until everything is calm again."
Lu Tianxin wanted to refuse, but what option did she have, other than to respect her dear friend's wishes. However, Ye Yimei wanted her to raise her son? Wouldn't it be too much for her?
Fate had taken away her dreams to have a family of her own, but with Ye Yimei's son, she had a chance to become a mother. Breaking up with Ye Xiaozu was hard for her, but it was for his own good. He wouldn't need to suffer with her in this life knowing that she could never bear him a child.
It also didn't help that Ye Xiaoting, Xiaozu and Yimei's father, was a violent man. Perhaps, her Sister Yimei had made the right decision of keeping her son away from her problematic family. With Lu Tianxin, the boy would grow up knowing that he was loved and cherished by his mother.
However, Ye Yimei didn't live long after giving birth to her premature baby. Three days after her surgery, she died from various complications and Lu Tianxin had to quickly move Luo Luo to another hospital discreetly before Ye Xiaoting found out about his existence.
If there was something Lu Tianxin regretted, it was that she wasn't able to send her dear friend off at her funeral. Ye Yimei granted her life wish to have a child and she would be forever grateful for it.
