Chapter 158 Saving the Deal With Ye Corporation 2
Ever since the old man met the fallen empress of Shenzhen, he'd been trying to convince her to be his apprentice. Elder Gu wanted to take her under his wing, much to Feng Tianyi and Gu Yuyao's chagrin.
"Hey, you can't ignore a hidden gem when you stumble into one." Elder Gu had defended himself before Gu Yuyao flew back to Shenzhen with her friends. "Miss Tang is one of the rarest prodigies I've seen in my long life." He chuckled.
Feng Tianyi scowled at that.
"There's no need for that, Grandpa Gu. I can help Moyu myself." The devil rejected the offer.
Being trained under Elder Gu meant that Tang Moyu would have to spend more time away from him and the little buns, which he didn't like at all.
However, for Elder Gu, the fallen empress of Shenzhen was a rare jewel that needed a lot of polishing. A woman who could compete in an industry dominated by men was something to be proud of. Tang Moyu had never allowed her gender to be used against her and had faced every challenge head-on.
"What?" Gu Yuyao laughed at her friend. "My gramps promised us that he would willingly help us if we needed it. We can't waste our resources because of pride, Moyu."
"It's not that I don't want his help, Yaoyao but I don't want the Gu family to be implicated and dragged into the issue I have with Feng Conglomerate." Tang Moyu's lips pressed into a hard line.
"Nonsense. Do you think that Feng Tianhua is strong enough to antagonize the Gu family? He would need a million years before he can actually compete with us." The Gu heiress bragged before dialing her grandfather's number. She put the call on a loudspeaker.
Lu Tianxin cast her an anxious look while Tang Moyu rubbed her temple.
After three rings, the old man answered Gu Yuyao's call.
"Hey gramps!" Gu Yuyao greeted her grandfather casually.
"Yao'er? What is it? Is there a problem with the designs for your wedding dress? Don't you like any of them?" The old man asked. His voice was one filled with concern and love, one that Gu Yuyao still wasn't used to. Ever since she'd made peace with her family, her grandfather didn't waste any chance to spoil and pamper her, even though she was living in a different city.
"Nope, nothing's wrong with my dress. I decided to work with Li Meili for the design. Anyway, that isn't the reason why I called," she replied to her grandfather.
"Then what's up?" He asked in confusion.
Gu Yuyao gestured to Tang Moyu. The empress cleared her throat before greeting the old man.
"Grandpa Gu, this is Moyu."
"Oohh, my other granddaughter! Yao'er, you should have told me that Moyu is there with you." The old man replied.
Tang Moyu let out a low laugh. She still couldn't understand why the old man took an interest in her.
"We're sorry to disturb you at this time, Grandpa Gu, but I wonder if your offer to help still stands."
"Oh, yes, of course, Moyu. Do you need help on funding another project or did someone cause you trouble?"
"It's nothing to be worried about, Grandpa Gu. But we're quite on a tight schedule and would need an expert to oversee one of the delicate projects we have at the moment. Yaoyao mentioned that you knew the perfect person for the job." Tang Moyu said.
Elder Gu took a deep breath on the other end of the line.
"Moyu, you don't have to be worried. My offer still stands. You only need to ask. As for the issue with your site project, Yao'er has already mentioned the problem to me last week. I offered her a solution, but she insisted that you should be the one to make any decision on it. I'm glad that you considered this old man's help."
"Don't worry, I'll send one of my people there as soon as possible. You don't have to worry about his bills as he's exclusively working for the Gu family."
"Okay," Tang Moyu sighed in relief. This should be able to save them some time that could be allocated on other more important matters. "We appreciate your help, Grandpa Gu."
"No problem, Moyu. All you need to do is ask if you're facing any trouble dealing with those issues out there. You are part of the Gu family now, whether you like it or not." Elder Gu laughed. "Of course, Yao'er is still my number one," he added.
Gu Yuyao harrumphed at his words.
"If I didn't know that I was your granddaughter by blood, Gramps, I would've assumed that Moyu is your real granddaughter."
"Now, now, Yao'er. You don't have to be jealous of Moyu. I treat the two of you fairly, don't I? By the way, if you could tell Lianchen to pay a visit here for a while to help sort out the pending contracts that I haven't approved yet, that would be great. Now, if you'll excuse me, I still have a conference to attend, you two shouldn't worry too much."
He hung up and Lu Tianxin sighed in relief. At least, one of their major problems was solved with Elder Gu's help. She was also surprised to know that her cousin was acquainted with one of the wealthiest families in Beijing.
Gu Yuyao snorted before yawning behind her hand.
"He's really overbearing, isn't he? He seems to have really taken a liking to you, Moyu. I'm surprised that your surname hasn't changed to Gu yet." She commented. Tang Moyu simply shrugged in return.
