Chapter 164 The Black Nightingale 2
Tang Moyu didn't need to wait for too long for her friend to answer. The empress put the call on loudspeaker, allowing everyone around her to hear what Li Meili had to say.
"Hey, remember the Cosmic red dress you gave me three years ago? Say, did you make another one of it? Because someone here is claiming that she's wearing the Cosmic red dress you gave me. How is it possible?" She questioned her best friend, purposely avoiding mentioning Li Meili's name since The Black Nightingale hated being stalked by the media.
"What bullshit are you talking about, Moyu? You know that I only make one dress and never replicate or reproduce them." Li Meili's voice now was filled with indignation. She was disturbed from slumber just because someone bragged about her craft which ended up being fake?
Tang Moyu hummed before casting a look at Xia An and Xing Yiyue, whose faces had instantly blanched upon hearing that the empress was talking to The Black Nightingale herself.
How was it possible that Tang Moyu knew such an impressive and influential designer that most people couldn't even get in touch with? Xing Yiyue wondered.
"I see." Tang Moyu's fingers moved over the screen of her phone and sent the photo she took earlier to Li Meili.
"I sent you a photo just now. The person who's claiming that it's your Cosmic red dress is Miss Xia An. Take a look at it and see if it's yours, because I'm pretty sure that the Cosmic red dress you gave me is still in my wardrobe and hasn't been touched since your birthday last year."
There was a moment of silence on Li Meili's side before a loud gasp was heard from her.
"This is definitely not mine, Moyu! I can't believe people would walk around wearing something like this and make blasphemous claims that I made this!" Li Meili exclaimed in rage.
She was aware that some people dared to copy her styles and imitate her creations, but to actually hear one right from the empress's lips? It was enough to piss her off.
The fabulous Cosmic dress she made for Tang Moyu was a dress with fitted bodice and circle A-line skirt. It had a red underlayer with a glittery stars infused tulle over layer. Shoulder straps with tulle over layer and a flattering V-neckline. Fitted and flattering in shape, this dress could be paired with a petticoat for full effect. She'd gifted the dress to the empress three years ago and was sure that there was no other copy of it.
Xia An refused to believe what she was hearing right then. She refused to believe that the voice they were hearing was from The Black Nightingale herself. In her mind, these three women were just trying to make a fool out of her.
"This… you are lying! Don't throw false accusations around! I will sue you!" She yelled back to Tang Moyu.
"Did you just say her name is Xia An?" Li Meili said with sarcasm. "Good. Very good. I'll make sure my lawyer contacts her soon. Thank you for informing me about this, Moyu. I owe you one." She said before hanging up on call.
"Sister Tang… I think this is just a misunderstanding, don't you think? Xia An might have wrongly assumed she's wearing your Cosmic dress." Xing Yiyue suddenly took a turn to save herself from being dragged into Xia An's issue.
It would be bad if she got implicated on Xia An's case if The Black Nightingale really decided to sue her. She could only try to convince Tang Moyu to pacify the mysterious designer.
"Really?" The empress chuckled. "She was ready to pounce and humiliate this woman here over some trivial matters which she caused herself, and now you want us to overlook her false claim? I'm sorry, Young Madam Feng, I think I'm not the one whom you should convince against pursuing legal actions."
Lu Tianxin let out a laugh before taking the hand of the foreign woman behind.
"It's alright now. I guess that should teach her a lesson not to mess with anyone." She winked at Elaine Wu.
Elaine Wu smiled and nodded in return. She owed this woman and the cold beauty a great one for saving her tonight.
"Let's go, Tianxin. Luo Luo must be waiting for your return." Tang Moyu said as she turned her back on Xia An and Xing Yiyue, leading the way out of the club.
Lu Tianxin nodded and followed her lead, taking the foreign woman with them. Once they stepped outside, she released a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"I'm really sorry, Moyu. I shouldn't have done that." She told her cousin.
Tang Moyu shrugged, clearly not bothered by her cousin's actions. As long as they were able to leave unscathed from Xing Yiyue's devious scheme then it should be alright.
"Just don't jump into the first sign of trouble, Tianxin. I know you are concerned, but you have to give it a thought or two before getting involved in someone else's problem." She glanced at Elaine Wu's way, who was flustered for causing them trouble.
"What if you encountered one of the Ye family members? I cannot guarantee I can help you get away easily." The empress added.
Lu Tianxin then truly understood how careless she'd been back there.
Tang Moyu then faced Elaine Wu.
"Are you alright? You shouldn't come to places like this alone." She told her.
Elaine Wu nibbled her lip and nodded.
"I-I had company earlier but he left… Thank you so much for saving me back there. I wouldn't know what to do if you hadn't arrived to help me." She exhaled.
