Chapter 192 Is It So Wrong for Me to Want You? 2
Not only did he admit it, but he also didn't force her to cooperate in seeking revenge on Feng Tianhua. On the contrary, he had encouraged her to do whatever she wanted by helping her secure her position at Tang Enterprise.
Her acquisition of the company was made possible by him, and Tang Moyu knew this. If it wasn't for his help, she was sure that it would take longer for her to secure her position in the company.
However, the fact that he was Feng Tianhua's brother and his attempt to hide himself as Qin Jiran to get close to her and her children made her wary of him. Whatever his reason was, it won't change the fact that he'd hide this information from her.
What if he had other intentions? For someone who hadn't experienced any romantic relationship, the empress was left confused and frustrated about how she should deal with him.
"I really like you, Moyu. I understand that you might not be ready, but I won't give you up so easily." Feng Tianyi told her the other night. "I know this isn't easy for you, but you have to have some faith in me, Moyu."
He took her hand in his, liking the way her hand seemed to fit his like a mold.
"Asking for my help doesn't make you weak. Don't you know that I'm willing to help you even if you don't ask me to? Is it so wrong for me to want you? To hold you like this?" His clear, bright eyes stared back at her.
"How do I know I can trust you?" Tang Moyu asked back.
"What else do I need to do to gain your trust?" He retorted back.
"Say, Moyu. If I wasn't Tianhua's brother, would you be able to accept me?" He asked her straightforwardly, a question that she couldn't seem to answer at all.
Tang Moyu had neither considered nor thought about it. Indeed, if he wasn't blood-related to her ex-fiance, perhaps it would be easier for her to accept his feelings.
However, that wasn't the case right now and her hesitation to accept him and admit that her feelings for Qin Jiran were the same feelings she had for Feng Tianyi. He told her himself, that aside from hiding his real identity as Feng Tianyi, whatever they had from the start were genuine.
"Moyu, I think you already know the answer. You are just afraid to be proven wrong, right?" Li Meili questioned her.
Tang Moyu sighed. Of all people, Li Meili was the one who knew her best, not even her parents were aware of what she wanted or how her mind worked.
Indeed, she was afraid that it might be a mistake to accept Feng Tianyi in her life. She didn't want to give anyone a chance to break her and to hurt her little buns. However, it was already kind of too late, wasn't it?
She only needed to take that one step forward and meet Feng Tianyi midway, but she was hesitating.
The afternoon breeze had started to feel warmer these days as summer was approaching. While Tang Moyu spent the day with her friend, Feng Tianyi was probably spending his day with her little buns back at home while monitoring the construction of the pond in their garden.
Was this the reason why Lady Song advised her as she did? For her to be able to face her fears and accept whatever consequences of her decision?
She hated being uncertain. She hated that her past was still able to stop her from moving forward. However, Tang Moyu knew she cannot drag this any longer. Eventually, she would need to give Feng Tianyi a definite answer.
"So you think I should take this chance?" She asked Li Meili.
"Well…" Li Meili took a sip of her drink, allowing the cold beer to quench her thirst.
"I don't see what's stopping you aside from your fear that he might betray you like Feng Tianhua did. But you have to understand, Moyu. They are two different persons. Hadn't you wasted enough years with Feng Tianhua? Now, you have your chance to know what being loved feels like, so why waste the chance?"
Love? It was a foreign emotion for Tang Moyu. The only love she knew was the unconditional love she had for her children. To accept Feng Tianyi meant putting her trust in the man. Something she hadn't done for a long time on a personal level.
She let out a sigh of frustration.
No wonder Gu Yuyao had once told her that dating and love could be troublesome. You allow yourself to be vulnerable for another person, hoping he or she wouldn't break your heart. And for someone like Tang Moyu, who hated uncertainty, accepting him would be like a gamble on her part.
Before Tang Moyu could answer Li Meili's question, her phone rang, catching her attention. It was a call from Auntie Lu, who she had left at home with her little buns and Feng Tianyi.
"Auntie Lu? What's wrong? Why is it too noisy there?" She asked, slightly pulling her phone away from her ear.
"Miss Moyu! You have to come back! Mr. Qin and the Young Master had an accident in the garden. Mr. Song and I brought the Young Master to the ER. Mr. Qin will follow shortly with Miss Yuyao."
The beer can in Tang Moyu's hand fell on the floor as she staggered backward, fortunately stopped by the railing behind her.
