Chapter 221 Not a Damsel in Distress 1
"You also made our daughter cry. How dare you make our little girl cry, huh?" Feng Tianyi's eyes twitched in annoyance. Ever since he found out about Little Star's condition, he and Tang Moyu had been careful not to upset their little girl.
It was already a struggle to finish planting the new crops and now they would have to do it all over again because Han Shaohui had ruined all of it. He would also need to ask Auntie Lu and the maids to see if there were any other damages within the Tang household so he can charge the Han family tenfold for them.
"Want to hurt and destroy my Moyu? Heh. Will your family be strong enough to survive the calamity that is about to hit all of you? Han Shaohui, you've wronged Tang Wanyu and dared to mess with my woman. See, if you and your family can escape from this devil."
Han Shaohui was a lucky bastard. If he wasn't bound to his wheelchair and still had his former strength before the accident, he would be worse than this. For Tang Moyu to be forced to protect her sister and her little buns like this, Feng Tianyi couldn't help but be more disappointed in himself.
He didn't like being incompetent when it comes to protecting Moyu and her loved ones, although she never asked him to. He didn't feel like what he'd done so far was enough to help her.
Han Shaohui opened his mouth in shock. The color in his face drained the moment recognition dawned on him. The devil he says…
Song Fengyan took Han Shaohui away while He Lianchen and Gu Yuyao also left to file the divorce papers before the civil registry closed, leaving the Tang siblings with Li Meili and Feng Tianyi.
Auntie Lu came outside with the twins and ordered the nursemaid to fetch the first aid kit for Miss Moyu.
"Mommy, are you hurt?" Xiao Bai clung and tugged on her shirt, looking up worriedly to his mother. "Have the bad guys left?" He asked.
His twin sister went to their Daddy Ji and hugged him.
"Daddy Ji, my baby carrots… wahhh… they are gone now." She complained to him. It hadn't even been one week but her hard work was already gone, before it could start to grow.
"Hush now, darling. We'll just have to plant more. The important thing is that you and your brother are safe." Feng Tianyi consoled the crying girl, his mind thinking of ways to make Han Shaohui's life more miserable than it already was for making Little Star cry.
They all moved back to the porch where Feng Tianyi cleaned and treated Tang Moyu's knuckles. She flinched when he sprayed antiseptic on her bruised knuckles, obviously red from the amount of force she exerted today.
Tang Moyu hummed and glanced at her little buns, who were both busy trying to annoy their sleeping dog at the corner of the porch as if they'd already forgotten what had transpired earlier. Little Star had also calmed down, much to her relief.
Meanwhile, her best friend was busy raiding Feng Tianyi's fridge, looking for something to eat as they waited for their other friends' return.
"It's not that I don't need your help, Tianyi. I just knew that I could deal with the problem on my own." She replied.
Feng Tianyi's face scrunched. He already knew this, but he still couldn't help but be disappointed.
"I've been fine all this while and am too used to being alone, Tianyi. You have to understand." Her eyes tried to hold his gaze. "For the longest time, I had to endure everything alone. Please don't expect to lower my guard just because you are here to protect me."
The devil held her hands gently in his own. Of course, he was aware of it. She had a useless family who couldn't even take care of her. It was only natural for Tang Moyu to fend for herself.
She was independent and strong-willed by nature and was simply not going to marry someone who expected her to worship and obey them. This, Feng Tianyi was already aware of. Furthermore, she was smart and confident in her intellectual abilities. She was a catch.
Any man would be happy to have her. Or would they? Feng Tianyi wondered.
"Do you think I am a damsel in distress like others? If I could solve the problem on my own, why would I need to trouble other people to help me?" Tang Moyu added.
Even when she was still engaged with Feng Tianhua, she had never expected him to stand up for her and protect her. In fact, it was the opposite. Aside from the rude and sharp words she received from him, Feng Tianhua had always made her doubt her capabilities.
She was confused when he seemed to want to see her fail in her goal of closing the deals between Feng Conglomerates and their other partners when they just overtook the management after his father's death.
It soon became apparent to Tang Moyu that he and his mother wanted nothing more than someone who would do whatever he wanted, when he wanted it. He didn't want an equal partner. He wanted a Stepford wife, something that Tang Moyu could never be.
Tang Moyu thought that she had learned her lessons from her experience with him and had resigned to accept that she could never be with anyone, that is until she met Feng Tianyi, who defied all her logical reasons.
