Chapter 232 Just Like Her Mother 2
She blinked owlishly, not believing what she was seeing. Her eyes weren't deceiving her, right? How did they manage to fall asleep on the couch of all places?
Seeing the three in such an endearing position, sleeping peacefully next to each other, made Tang Moyu's heart flutter. Their breathing was even as their chests rose up and down steadily as they slept together.
'You're seriously delusional if you actually think that any man actually wants you for anything more than your beauty and face. I doubt forcing yourself on someone would ever make them want you.' Zhang Wuying had once told her.
Tang Moyu shook her head in an attempt to clear her mind. No… Zhang Wuying was wrong. The empress told herself. There were people who were capable of loving her unconditionally. She silently placed her bag down and shed her coat before taking a seat next to her loved ones, watching them in silence.
This was something Zhang Wuying would never understand. The love of her little buns and Feng Tianyi's support was something she cherished in her heart. Sometimes she wondered if this was too good to be true, if she deserved all of this.
Sometimes, she wished she could peer into Feng Tianyi's mind to know what he thought of her. Sometimes, she wished she could understand her desire to get to know him better.
How did he even manage to get under her skin in such a way that she couldn't imagine going back home not seeing him with her little buns? What kind of modern witchery was this love that had given her the courage to defy all the teachings her mother had imposed on her person?
Tang Moyu was a person who didn't want uncertainty and she wasn't sure how it would end up between her and Feng Tianyi. But perhaps, this was for the better. The three of them……the happiness she was feeling right now was absolute.
Feng Tianyi groaned and cracked his eyes open, seeing her sitting on the coffee table next to them.
"You're home." He said the obvious thing.
"You should have gone to bed with the twins." Tang Moyu said before picking up her sleeping daughter beside him.
"They fell asleep even before I could move." Feng Tianyi said in defense, watching her back as she retreated to the guest room, where her twins had successfully declared as their bedroom now. She came back later and did the same to her snoring handsome boy.
"I told you. You don't have to wait for me." Her eyes then caught the small plates that no doubt was used for eating something sweet after dinner. "And you are obviously spoiling them, allowing them to eat on the couch when I told them not to."
The devil scratched his nape, guilt written all over his face.
"I'm sorry. I'll try to say no next time."
Even for someone like him, it was hard to say no to the Tang twins when they beg him for something. It was hard, okay? What if they started crying? These little buns were good at emotional blackmail. Was Tang Moyu not aware of this?
When Tang Moyu was done tucking her twins in their bed and came back, Feng Tianyi had already moved himself from the couch to his wheelchair. She knew that he'd just resumed his therapy sessions and hated that she couldn't go with him for moral support.
Song Fengyan had taken it upon himself to document Tianyi's recovery, and she must admit that slowly, he was regaining the strength of his legs and could stand up longer than each previous session without writhing in pain.
Tang Moyu followed him to the kitchen as he took her dinner out from the fridge and reheated it in the microwave. She leaned her graceful figure against the countertop, a silver fork in one hand, pressed against her lips as she thought about her 'mother'.
It made sense to her why Zhang Wuying hated her, but why would she need to adopt her Wan Jie? Was her younger brother, Tang Beixuan adopted too? Ever since she was engaged to Feng Tianhua, Tang Beixuan was named the successor of the Tang Enterprise, that was until she came back and acquired the family business for herself.
The sharp beep of the microwave snapped her out of her thoughts, her hand reaching out for the steaming dish Feng Tianyi had made for her. She ate quietly while her eyes darted around the kitchen and the guest house, noticing the changes that had been made since Feng Tianyi moved here.
She hadn't any plans on the house itself and was ready to lend the place to Li Meili as her work space but now, the place was homier and comfier than the main house, which was dull and lifeless ever since her twins spent more time here with Feng Tianyi.
Toys were scattered in the living area, while books and papers filled the small table Feng Tianyi had placed in the corner. There was even a canvass set next to it, with a rough sketch of her little buns drawn on it.
Placing her fork and plate into the sink, she wondered where Feng Tianyi went before he appeared a minute later with another envelope in his hands, his eyes had a seriousness glint in them.
"What is it?" She asked as she took a seat on the couch and waited for him to follow.
"Your birth mother's bio," he replied.
