Chapter 253 It Isn’t Nice to Be Caged at All 2
The conflicting feelings he had for Tang Moyu had blinded him, pushing the woman he wanted away from him instead. He regretted not paying more attention to her. Perhaps if he became a better fiance to her, Tang Moyu would consider to truly accept him as her husband, not just because her family asked her to.
Alas, he was already too late. He'd let his ego get the best of him and blamed Tang Moyu instead. When everything calmed down and Tang Moyu had left the country with Li Meili, it only dawned on him the foolishness of his actions. He shouldn't have believed Xing Yiyue's words back then.
In an attempt to keep his sanity when he lost Tang Moyu, he moved to her old office and stayed there for days, leaving his newly wedded wife at home. As the years passed by, the way things were unfolding simply solidified the fact that he and the Feng Conglomerate cannot be without her.
Their partners, as well as their investors doubted his capabilities to lead the company and preferred to work with Tang Moyu instead. This shouldn't surprise him, right?
After all, the hard work of reestablishing their connections was mostly done by Tang Moyu herself. If it wasn't because their partners and investors believed in the empress, they wouldn't even bother to give Feng Conglomerate a glance.
Tang Moyu, who had been growing in popularity as the 'Empress of the Business World' had threatened his position in the company. Even his mother believed that his fiancée was starting to become a threat to his position.
She was to be his wife, and yet wherever Feng Tianhua went, everyone only talked about her, singing praises for her. Some even went as far as comparing the two of them, making him feel useless. In the end, he was the one who burned the empress's reputation in public, reducing her to nothing.
He'd initially thought that she would beg on her knees, asking for his forgiveness, but none of it happened as Tang Moyu decided to keep the bastard in her womb and fled the country with her best friend.
Feng Tianhua shut his eyes, forcing himself to rein over his troubled emotions before he left his office and went to the board meeting. His mind was still preoccupied with thoughts about Tang Moyu and how he fucked up his chance to be with her.
The meeting continued with him not saying anything throughout the whole session, listening, but tuning out the others. That was until someone mentioned his older brother, Feng Tianyi.
"I heard Master Tianyi came back. I haven't seen him yet."
Feng Tianhua raised his head, his eyes turning into slits. Yes, he also heard that his older brother was back. Wasn't he the one who gave him trouble a few months ago, informing him of his return?
"Someone spotted him visiting Qing Tian Group three months ago with a young boy who looks like him. Do you think he got married secretly?"
"Ah, who cares. At least he already has an heir who could name in the future. That is, if that boy is truly his." The older man replied, glancing at Feng Tianhua's way with a meaningful look.
Who hadn't known that Feng Tianhua had been married to the popular actress, Xing Yiyue for about five years now. Yet the woman hadn't bore him any child in all those years. Who knew, maybe he married a barren woman or she truly didn't want to sacrifice her popularity in show business to give her husband a child.
How responsible can Xing Yiyue be? If the empress hadn't gotten pregnant with a bastard's child, perhaps by now, she and Feng Tianhua would've already been married and Feng Conglomerate would be prospering under their lead.
However, the board members knew that it was just wishful thinking. There was no empress to rely on right now, who would've been able to help Feng Tianhua, to make sure that the company wouldn't crumble into shambles.
"Perhaps it's time for Master Tianyi to join us here. What do you think?" Another middle aged man commented, rubbing his chin as he pondered about it. "I think it's time for the Feng brothers to cast their differences aside and help each other save the legacy their father left them."
Feng Tianhua's jaws hardened as he threw glaring daggers at the man for his audacity to talk about his older brother. Impossible. Just impossible.
He and Feng Tianyi could never be in the same place without aiming for each other's throats. His brother had been an ass to him as far as he could remember. The man never wasted any chance to rub that he was nothing but a bastard child from his father's mistress, that he didn't deserve to breathe the same air he was breathing.
Just the thought of his older brother was enough for Feng Tianhua's mood to turn sour. If his mother hadn't convinced his father to arrange his engagement with Tang Moyu, there would be no doubt that she would become the devil's woman.
Handing over the management of the company to Feng Tianyi? Never. There was no way in hell he would be willing to work with his half brother.
"Ahh, I doubt Master Tianyi would have time to spare time for old farts like us." The oldest member of the board chuckled. "Haven't you heard? He just started a diamond company and has successfully signed a joint venture with an american firm in under two months? Even I was surprised that he'd managed to pull off such a feat. Han Corporation lost their chances, placing them in great disadvantage instead."
Feng Tianhua raised his brow at that. Since when did his brother become business savvy?
