Chapter 304 - If You Aren’t Our Daddy (2)
This was the scene that Tang Moyu found her children in when she arrived home. The twins were sleeping on the floor in the living area and Feng Tianyi was sitting next to them, reading a book in one hand while the other gently patting her daughter's back as she slept on her side.
Feng Tianyi lifted his gaze from the book he was reading to Tang Moyu when he heard her footsteps in the hallway.
The empress placed her bag down and removed her coat before circling the couch to sit next to him. She was wearing a three piece gray suit with her hair pinned in a low ponytail.
Out of habit, she gave Feng Tianyi a quick peck on his lips before sitting next to him.
"You are early today." Feng Tianyi commented, returning his attention to the book he was reading.
Tang Moyu hummed and leaned her head against his arm, something Feng Tianyi had gotten used to. The empress wasn't a touchy woman. In fact, it took some time for her to get used to being held and kissed by him.
"We finished early. Cheng Ning said the rest could wait till tomorrow, so I came home." She responded before a long silence engulfed them.
Feng Tianyi continued to read in silence and felt her starting to doze off like her little buns.
"Lie down, Moyu. Take a nap. There's still enough time before dinner is ready." He murmured at her. Sleep was something Tang Moyu rarely enjoyed, considering how busy she was at work.
Now that Little Star had fully recovered, Feng Tianyi had to remind Tang Moyu to cut back from her excessive work. When she was done with work, Tang Moyu had returned home at once.
Tang Moyu didn't argue and did what she was told. She laid down next to him and shut her eyes close. A little nap sounded so enticing in her ears.
Feng Tianyi didn't need to wait for too long. Eventually, the empress had dozed off and her breathing started to become even as she slept along with her little buns. The devil watched his little family sleep in the comfort of their home. It might not be as grand as the homes of other wealthy families, but this was more than enough for him.
So long as he could be with Tang Moyu and her twins, Feng Tianyi didn't care about the trivial matters around them. He decided to cherish each memory he had with them in his heart.
To be able to have a family of his own, Feng Tianyi had never thought it was possible. Because of unfair treatment he suffered from his father and the betrayal Song Huifen had endured during their marriage, Feng Tianyi's impression of love and family was ruined.
Still, he hadn't thought of the perfect way to break the news to Tang Moyu. He realized that this was harder for him to do than confessing that he was Feng Tianyi to her.
Feng Tianyi didn't want them to grow apart once she knew about the possibility of him fathering her twins. It wouldn't be easy for Tang Moyu to accept that he was the reason why she'd lost everything. If their paths never crossed that night, Tang Moyu wouldn't suffer the humiliation her pregnancy had brought her.
But then again, it still wouldn't guarantee that Feng Tianhua and the Tang family would treat her any better. Perhaps, it happened for a reason. He and Tang Moyu had to lose everything to become a better person, to see the reality of their lives and those people around them.
Feng Tianyi ran his fingers over the empress's thick mane. Her hair had gotten longer. She didn't even bother to trim it, but he liked it nevertheless. More than half a year had passed since he first met her little buns. He never thought he would find himself in this situation.
Before he came back to Shenzhen, he was sure that there wasn't anything that could entice him to stay in this city. His memories of this city were ones filled with hate and disgust towards his own father, but meeting the little buns and the empress had slowly dissipated those unwanted memories, replacing them with new ones, with them in his life.
His lips curled into a slight smile as Little Star rolled on the opposite side and scooted closer to her mother.
Feng Tianyi sighed and closed the book in his hand, setting it aside in favor of touching Tang Moyu's hair. He would be damned if Tang Moyu grew to hate him once she found out the truth.
He leaned forward and kissed her temple as she slept. It cannot be avoided. Feng Tianyi can only suck it up and accept the empress's ire once the truth is revealed.
"Moyu, can you trust me? Please don't hate me." He whispered, unaware that the empress was still aware of her surroundings and had heard him.
She was confused by what he meant with those words. Ever since that night when she told her about the twins' condition, Feng Tianyi's mind had been preoccupied.
Tang Moyu wasn't sure what he was thinking about and why he'd uttered those words to her today. She was puzzled by his words. It wasn't like she didn't trust him, but she needed to know what was going on before she decided. Since when did she become an unreasonable person, that Feng Tianyi feared that she wouldn't trust him?
After a careful thought, Tang Moyu decided to pay attention to what he says and does. Perhaps it would be able to give her some answers to what Feng Tianyi wasn't willing to reveal yet.
