Chapter 353 - You Must Apologize to Daddy (1)
It was already past eight in the evening when Tang Moyu, Feng Tianyi and Meng Yanran reached Shezhen. However, instead of driving straight to Peach Blossom Garden where their little buns were probably still up, waiting for their return, Tang Moyu and Feng Tianyi dropped Meng Yanran at one of the hotels owned by the Song family.
They pulled up in the private parking space for VIP guests and were welcomed by the hotel's manager and a few staff. Feng Tianyi climbed out the car before the empress did and was followed by Meng Yanran whose car stopped right behind them.
They were stunned when they saw their young master alight from the same car as Tang Moyu. Were they a couple? These thoughts came into their minds. But how was it even possible?
Because they were working in a five star hotel, it was natural for them to recognize the empress at a glance. It was just that they were surprised that the devil and the fallen empress of Shenzhen were acquainted with each other.
"Young Master, it's been a while…" The manager greeted, but the devil raised a hand, stopping him midway.
Feng Tianyi didn't have enough energy left to waste and gestured towards Meng Yanran.
"This is the guest I called about earlier. You better make sure that you provide everything she may need during her stay. Don't worry about the expenses. The bill is already covered by someone." He told the manager.
Meng Yanran furrowed her brows. Just who was this 'someone' Mr. Qin was talking about? Didn't Tang Moyu say that her living arrangement will be covered by the company? Had she somehow misunderstood the empress's words? She wondered.
"Yes, Young Master. We understand." The manager agreed easily.
The bellhop took Meng Yanran's suitcase and she was escorted inside by one of the staff. Behind her, she could hear the manager and Tang Moyu conversing in low voices as they followed them.
They stopped at the desk clerk, who gave them a polite smile.
"Welcome to Royal Crown Hotel, Miss Meng. Here are your room keys. We hope you will enjoy your stay with us." She told Meng Yanran.
Meng Yanran thanked her before she was led to the elevator. Tang Moyu and Feng Tianyi joined them shortly, without the hotel manager.
"I think you've done more than enough for me. Don't you think it's time for you to go home?" She asked them curiously. There was really no need for them to trouble themselves to make sure she settled in.
"No, it's fine. We're just making sure you're settled in. Don't worry, we'll be out of your hair before you know it." Tang Moyu replied.
Meng Yanran then chose to stop asking questions. The determined look on the empress's face told her she wouldn't be able to sway their decision and that Tang Moyu would do as she pleased.
What did they want from her anyway? Meng Yanran didn't think that Tang Moyu was helping her out of kindness, but she didn't care. She would eventually get something from the deal she made with the empress. So long as they would each gain something from it, Meng Yanran would turn a blind eye on the empress's motive.
Still, she couldn't help but be curious as to who was going to pay for her two weeks living arrangement in this five star hotel. Qin Jiran might have made a slight slip earlier, when he was talking to the manager.
Meng Yanran hoped that it wasn't her ex-husband because she wouldn't be able to accept any help coming from that bastard. After all that he'd done to her, she didn't want to see his face ever again.
Or perhaps it was her cousin, Lin Qianrou. Did Qian hear about her from Tang Moyu and had volunteered to look after her?
After all, unlike her, Qian had married a decent man who also happened to be a filthy rich businessman in Shenzhen. She's practically sleeping on a bed of money and could afford to pay her living arrangement in a five star hotel for two weeks.
If she didn't foolishly decline Xu Wenyang's marriage proposal, she should be the one in Lin Qianrou's position right now.
Meng Yanran pushed these kinds of nasty thoughts out of her mind. She knew deep down that Xu Wenyang and her weren't meant to be together. They were only together in the past for public appearances. They only dated for a few months and hadn't even passed holding hands and kissing.
She should be happy that Qian had managed to find a man who could truly love her. Maybe one day, Meng Yanran would be able to find one for herself, but right now, her priority was getting back on her own feet, proving to her mother that she was more than a pretty face.
The elevator ride was too long for her liking. If there's something she hated the most, it would be being confined in a cramped space, which would hinder her movement. Suddenly, she felt herself breaking into cold sweat. As soon as the elevator doors opened, Meng Yanran heaved a sigh and stepped out before anyone else could.
"Are you alright? You look pale, Miss Meng." Tang Moyu held her elbow, trying to steady her.
"I'm fine. Just a little tired from long hours of driving, I guess." she replied.
"Thank you again, Miss Tang, Mr. Qin."
"It's our p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to help you." The empress replied before pulling out a business card and jotting something on the back. "I wrote down Qian's number. Just in case you want to catch up with her and meet your new nephew. She's just given birth, Miss Meng. I'm sure she would be happy to hear from you."
And with that, the empress and the devil walked away and left.
