Chapter 368 - Take a Break (2)
Tang Moyu pulled away, her brows furrowed in confusion at his suggestion. Of all the things he could possibly suggest, why was he asking her out for a date all of the sudden? She didn't think this was the good time for that, but looking at his face, she couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt over her absence these days.
What was worse than being physically there for them but mentally and emotionally absent when she was around anyway?
She knew that she had been neglecting her responsibilities as a mother to her little buns and being a girlfriend to Feng Tianyi lately, but she had a company to run. There were people who were relying on her and she cannot slow down even for a moment.
"I don't think that is a good idea, Tianyi." She ran her both hands over her face in frustration.
Feng Tianyi shrugged and let himself fall on the bed, staring at the ceiling above him.
"You need to slow down Moyu, or you would miss a lot of things that might never happen again. Think about Baobao and Little Star. I know you need to run Tang Enterprise, but if you have to choose between us and the company, what would you choose?" He asked her.
He heard Tang Moyu groan beside him.
"What kind of question is this, Tianyi? I thought you know me better." She gave him a pointed look but he only smiled at her with a grin.
He pulled her arm, letting her lay down on the bed next to him. He rolled on his side, propping his head up with one hand while the other one played with her long hair.
"That's why I'm telling you to take a break. It's just one night, Moyu. I promise it would be all worth it."
Tang Moyu didn't say anything for a moment as she pondered her choices. Indeed, one night off wouldn't hurt. Perhaps she had spent enough time working and she needed to remind herself to set her priorities straight.
"All I wanted is to spend some time with you, Moyu. I'm pretty sure Baobao and Little Star feel the same way. So could you please slow down? If you need help you know who to ask." He offered.
"Fine. But just this once. I'll ask Cheng Ning to clear my schedule this weekend." Tang Moyu conceded.
One night won't be enough. She decided to take the weekend off. She too wanted to spend some time with Baobao and Little Star before they started to doubt her love for them.
Feng Tianyi smiled triumphantly. Great. Now he only needed to make a phone call to Li Yuanyi to reserve the whole restaurant for him and Tang Moyu.
"A whole weekend with you? Hmm…" He rubbed his chin, as he lazily lay down beside the empress. "What about a little vacation trip with Baobao and Little Star? Don't worry. Me and Auntie Lu will make the arrangements."
"To where?" Tang Moyu asked. She was curious about what he had on his mind.
Feng Tianyi hummed.
"What about going to the beach? I think this is the perfect time for sightseeing. Have the twins been to a beach before?"
"No, not yet." Tang Moyu was then reminded that she had once promised her little buns that she'll allow them to see the sea or the ocean when they got the chance. Maybe this would be a good idea.
"I'll leave the preparations to you then." Her eyes then caught the business suit hanging next to his dresser. "You're going somewhere?" She asked.
"Hn, there's a board meeting at Feng Conglomerate tomorrow. I guess the old farts caught wind that I'm back and wanted to hear from me. As much as I don't want to see my little brother's face, I need to endure seeing him for at least two hours."
"Well, that's understandable. It's surprising that he managed to keep the company going at this rate." The empress said before crawling to the other side of the bed where she usually sleeps.
Feng Tianyi followed her lead and settled next to her.
"What do you mean?" He asked curiously. "I don't understand, Moyu."
"Ah, you don't know do you? I made a five year plan for the Feng Conglomerate before I was ousted. Your brother got his hands on the draft I made." The empress explained and chuckled with sarcasm.
"I did all the hard work when he was busy playing around elsewhere. To actually kick me out and steal my idea to keep the company afloat? Bastard." The devil could sense her annoyance over the matter. "Anyway, too bad he wouldn't be able to keep it going any longer."
"Why? You've decided to avenge yourself now?" He questioned.
Feng Tianyi was starting to get used to having her on his side, it started to scare him how attached he was to this woman. He had never been attuned to anyone.
Hadn't she told him before that revenge would never be her path in this lifetime? That she would rather turn a blind eye on it for their children's sake?
Tang Moyu laughed before taking a deep breath. Her eyes started to droop as exhaustion caught up with her.
"No, Tianyi. I'm not. I won't retaliate against anyone unless they touch my bottom line. As for your brother and Xing Yiyue, they should be able to see it coming their way. It's not revenge when they were the ones who put themselves in the path of self destruction. They made the choice, didn't they? So they must accept the consequences, whatever it would be."
Feng Tianyi wasn't sure, but he felt an unusual coldness in her voice that sent shivers down his spine. It was as if the empress could predict what would happen to Feng Tianhua, his wife and to the Feng Conglomerate soon.
"Want me to teach my little brother a lesson?" He asked.
"Sure. Just remind him of his place. If you don't mind." Tang Moyu said before she dozed off.
