Chapter 385 - About Time You Tell the Truth (1)
"You've got to be kidding me." Gu Yuyao looked at Tang Moyu in shock while Li Meili's eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing what her best friend said. "Moyu, are you serious? You aren't pulling our legs, right?"
"Yes, I'm certain of this, Yaoyao. I've seen the paternity test result myself and I know it is impossible to tamper or falsify it. The results proved that Feng Tianyi was the man I spent the night with five years ago." Tang Moyu told her friends.
Even now, her mind couldn't fully comprehend how it was even possible and hadn't fully accepted the truth about her little buns' father.
"He is their father?" The pieces were starting to fall in their right place, giving Gu Yuyao a clear understanding of what had happened. Since the Gu family was a relative of the Songs, she was naturally aware of the rare blood type that runs through the Song lineage.
"Say, your little buns… do they happen to have the rare blood type? You know… what the medical society calls the golden blood?" She confronted Tang Moyu.
Seeing the surprised expression on both the empress and Li Meili, her suspicions over the matter was pretty much confirmed.
"I am right?" She asked again. This time, Tang Moyu only gave her a nod, confirming her assumptions.
Gu Yuyao couldn't think of any reason why the devil would do such a thing unless the rare golden blood of the Song family was passed on from him to Moyu's little buns. She knew that in this generation, only Feng Tianyi and Song Fengyan had the Song family's rare blood and it had been years and none of the newborns of the Songs had the same blood type.
The Song family was very strict with this requirement on their newborns. Whether the child was from the main or branch family, they needed to run blood tests to confirm whether or not they had the rare blood type running through their veins.
"How come you know about it, Yaoyao?" Li Meili asked on Tang Moyu's behalf. Only she was aware of the rare blood type the Tang twins had and she swore to the empress not to disclose about it to anyone for their safety.
"Meili, in case you are forgetting, the Gu family and the Songs are distant relatives." She pointed out.
"Only a few people knew about the golden blood and most of them are the elders. I mistakenly overheard my grandpa talking about it when my brother was still alive. I thought they were just making a big deal out of it until Fengyan told me recently how Tianyi almost lost his own life due to blood loss." The Gu heiress explained. She then paused as if she remembered something.
"Shit!" She cursed lowly, glad that the little buns weren't around to hear her. "Was that why you brought Baobao to Europe years ago? You were looking for the blood bags for him?"
How could Gu Yuyao forget? During that time, Tang Moyu was about to finish her masters at Wharton when she suddenly flew to Europe with Xiao Bao after his accident, leaving her young daughter in Li Meili's care for weeks.
Li Meili had been mum about the reason for Tang Moyu's sudden departure with her son even though the accident the boy had gotten into wasn't so serious in the first place. Xiao Bao needed some blood transfusion, but Gu Yuyao couldn't understand back then why the empress needed to fly to another continent just to get blood bags for her son.
"Yes." Tang Moyu returned her attention to her little buns, not daring to let them out of her sight. "I needed to. I was desperate back then and I blamed myself for being incompetent. I should have known better than to be careless when I knew how dangerous it would be for the two of them if an accident ever happened."
"So that same blood… they got it from Tianyi? That's surprising. I thought it usually skips a generation or two before another child with the same blood is born." Gu Yuyao muttered to herself.
Tang Moyu furrowed her brows and looked at her friend.
"What do you mean they got it from Tianyi?" What else has Feng Tianyi not inform her? She wondered.
"What?" It was Gu Yuyao's turn to be confused this time. "Tianyi, hasn't told you?"
"Tell me what?" The empress asked back.
"That he also has the same blood type, what else?" Gu Yuyao scoffed before shaking her head. "Of all the things, he forgot to mention to you that vital detail? He hasn't told you that the reason he almost lost his life was not because of the accident, but because there was a scarcity of blood donors with the same blood type years ago."
"No, he didn't tell me…"
Perhaps Feng Tianyi hadn't told her because she was a crying mess last night and her logical mind was failing her.
"Moyu, I'm telling you, it's a miracle that he's still alive and with us today. According to Fengyan, the seriousness of Tianyi's injuries was enough to kill him, but his body fought hard even though he was in a coma."
Tang Moyu looked away, but her fists balled on her l.a.p. Did he not trust her enough to confide such details to her?
Why hadn't Feng Tianyi told her any of these? Did he think it wasn't important for her to know everything about his condition back then? She had thought that what they had right now was enough to understand each other, but Tang Moyu realized how wrong she was.
There were still things that they didn't know about each other, but she wasn't rushing things with him. And although she already shared the bed with him, Tang Moyu knew that this relationship needed a lot of work.
However, she hadn't failed to notice that he wasn't comfortable talking about what happened during and after his accident, much like how she didn't want to talk about who fathered her little buns until now.
