Chapter 393 - Lan Yunru (1)
Their short trip ended too soon for everyone's liking. The a.d.u.l.ts were back to their usual routine while the Tang twins, who were starting to enjoy spending their time at school, were making new friends, especially Little Star.
Unlike her twin brother, who already had Huo Yunhao as a close friend, Little Star tried to befriend everyone. However, she hadn't met someone whom she could truly consider as her best friend. There was no spark or any special connection she could feel from anyone aside from her twin brother.
She sighed and crossed her arms on top of her desk and laid her head down. Since her last episode at the playground, Little Star had been forbidden by their teachers to run around and join their other classmates during playtime. Even though she didn't like it, she had to remind herself not to make her mommy worry about her again.
Now, she had no other choice but to watch them enjoy playing around while she sulked in the corner without any company, aside from her brother and Huo Yunhao, who seemed to have a world on their own since they don't usually participate in their classmates' playtime.
Right now, she was stuck sitting next to her twin brother in boredom as they waited for their class to start. Little Star had been enduring this for some time now and had been looking forward to doing something new.
This was one of?the rare times that she was envious of her brother for having a friend like Huo Yunhao. Although they rarely joined the fun with their classmates, Little Star noticed that they were never truly alone as her Yu Gege and Huo Yunhao were always together. She also wanted something like that, but none of their other classmates interested her at all.
She wanted something like what their mommy had with their Auntie Meili. Her mommy told Little Star that she met her Auntie Meili when they were younger, and since then, Little Star wondered if she could ever find a friend whom she could share a strong bond with.
The first day of school after their short trip was more boring than what Little Feiyu had anticipated. Why did Monday come too fast? He didn't like it. Why can't someone extend the weekend, even for just a day? He wondered.
Next to him, Huo Yunhao was playing the toy robot he brought with him today. Like the two little buns, Huo Yunhao spent his weekend with his mother, so he was in a better mood today.
"You better make sure you hide it before our teacher sees it." He heard Tang Feiyu say next to him.
Huo Yunhao only grinned and waved his toy robot in front of the elder Tang twin while Tang Feiyu tried not to roll his eyes.
"Don't worry, Feiyu. Didn't you say your Daddy bought you a new one? Let's play later. Of course I'm going to keep it away when the teacher comes. Mommy said I should listen to the teacher so I can learn more. In fact, she was the one who gave this to me." He said proudly.
Tang Feiyu cupped his chin and raised a brow at his friend. He knew that Huo Yunhao wasn't living with his mommy at the moment. There was an issue between his mother and Huo Yunhao's grandfather that neither of them were aware of.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Mommy said she's working hard these days. Do you think my grandpa would allow her to come home soon?" Huo Yunhao asked.
"I don't know…" Tang Feiyu couldn't understand some a.d.u.l.ts no matter how hard he tried to comprehend their reasons. Why do a.d.u.l.ts like to complicate things anyway? At least his and Little Star's mommy and daddy were talking to each other even if they had disagreements like the rest.
"Have they talked? My mommy said talking to each other is a good way to avoid misunderstandings." He told Huo Yunhao, who furrowed his brows in confusion.
Huo Yunhao wasn't even sure why his mommy allowed him to live with his grandpa without her. Were they fighting? But young Huo Yunhao couldn't remember a time that he'd seen his mommy argue with someone. In fact, his mommy was a soft-spoken woman and easily got intimidated by anyone, including his grandpa.
"I'm not sure… Grandpa avoids seeing my mommy whenever she comes for a visit." Huo Yunhao told his best friend.
Before Tang Feiyu could say more, their teacher walked in and cleared her throat to get everyone's attention. The children fell silent at once, their attention zeroed on their teacher. There was something different about how she stood in front of them, her eyes occasionally glancing at the open door.
"We have a new student joining us today. She enrolled a little late, but I hope you will be nice to her." She then gestured for someone to come in, and everyone in the classroom watched silently as a small girl, as tall as Little Star, walked in shyly, her head bowed and her eyes avoiding everyone's gaze.
Little Star's eyes were practically glued on the new girl joining their class. A new classmate? Perhaps she would be able to make friends with their new classmate. She couldn't wait to talk to her later and hoped that they could be good friends.
From what everyone could see, the new girl was wearing the same school uniform that everyone was wearing. She had a wavy, midnight hair that reached her shoulders, some of it pinned to the back of her head with a ribbon. Her small dainty hands clutched her pink shirt in nervousness before she took in a deep breath to steady her nerves to face everyone.
With large brown eyes that seemed to sparkle and paired with a smile that could be described as bright and shy at the same time, the new girl spoke in a cheerful voice.
"Hi, my name is Lan Yunru. Nice to meet you."
