Chapter 394 - Lan Yunru (2)
Little Star waited in anticipation as the new girl was introduced to them. She simply couldn't take her eyes off the girl. The teacher was still talking, but she had already tuned it out and looked around, deciding to invite the new girl to accompany her today, in case she was too shy to talk to their classmates.
The girl named Lan Yunru attentively looked around the classroom, wanting to see what her new classmates looked like. This was her first time attending a school and since this was the closest one to where she and her Mommy resided, Lan Yunru was enrolled here.
Her eyes then made contact with one of the prettiest girls she had seen in her life. Lan Yunru, who had only turned four last week was enthralled to see a girl with doll-like features in the same class as she was.
The girl seemed to be the same age as herself. She had long wavy black hair, a pair of round brown eyes with long eyelashes, and skin so smooth and pale that reminded Lan Yunru of the expensive dolls she used to see whenever her nanny brought her to do some shopping.
The girl beamed her a wide smile and waved at her, making Lan Yunru blush a little. She smiled and waved back at the doll-like girl. Lan Yunru thought the girl was just too pretty. Would she like her to be her friend too? She wondered.
Lan Yunru didn't have friends because most of the time, she would stay in their apartment with a nanny, playing all by herself, waiting for her Mommy to come home from work. Her daily life was boring and repetitive. She couldn't even have a pet of her own because their landlord didn't allow pets in their apartment.
This was the first time she had seen so many children her age and was a little scared. She didn't know how to talk to them. She was hoping that she'd be able to make a new friend today and maybe this day wouldn't be so bad after all.
When her Mommy said it was time for her to attend school, Lan Yunru got a little scared. She forced herself to calm down. Her mommy wouldn't want her to sit here and second guess herself. Mommy said this was for her own good and she needed to make friends.
Lan Yunru smiled shyly at the pretty girl and looked back at their teacher, who was still talking. She gripped the edge of her shirt and bit her bottom lip, resisting the urge to look back at the pretty girl she'd seen earlier.
Imagine her shock and relief when their teacher said she could sit next to the pretty girl she'd seen earlier. Even the pretty girl seemed surprised that their teacher gave her an opportunity to talk with their new classmate.
Lan Yunru sat down and smiled at her new classmates. Little Star grinned at her before nudging the boy next to her to greet the newcomer. The boy g.r.o.a.n.e.d and turned his back on the pretty girl, mumbling something Lan Yunru couldn't understand.
"Hi. I'm Tang Feixiu, but you can call me Little Star. This is my twin brother, Tang Feiyu." The pretty girl introduced herself to Lan Yunru once she was comfortably seated.
"Hi." She said shyly. "He's your brother?" She asked in confusion. "What's a twin anyway?"
Lan Yunru's young mind couldn't comprehend what it meant. The two didn't look anything like each other, but Little Star said they were siblings.
"Huh? You don't know what twins are?" Little Star tapped her chin, her eyes wide as she stared at Lan Yunru. The other girl shook her head, a little ashamed that she had no idea what it was.
"It means that our Mommy gave birth to us on the same day. My Mommy said my Yu Gege is only a couple minutes older than me so…"
"Oh…" Lan Yunru hadn't thought that something like that was possible. She hadn't heard of or met any twin so far aside from Tang Feixiu and her twin brother, Tang Feiyu. She didn't have any siblings. She didn't even know who her daddy was.
Lan Yunru had a lot of fun today and she couldn't wait to return home to tell everything to her mommy. Her mommy would be proud of her for making new friends at school and listening to their teacher, not causing any trouble.
School was over for the day when she found herself standing outside the classroom, waiting for her nanny to pick her up. Her mommy wouldn't be home until nine in the evening, so Lan Yunru wasn't expecting to see her.
"Our daddy is going to pick us up today. Mommy said she would need to work overtime." She heard Tang Feiyu say to Huo Yunhao.
"Your mommy is working too hard. Overtime again?" Huo Yunhao commented.
"How about you, Yunru? Is your mommy or daddy going to pick you up?" Little Star asked her, curious about her new friend.
"Oh, no. My mommy is also busy at work. She always comes home late at night." She told Little Star.
"Just like our mommy, huh?" Tang Feiyu leaned against the wall and waited patiently for their daddy to arrive.
"How about your daddy?" Huo Yunhao asked.
"I… I don't have a daddy." Lan Yunru said in a low voice, her crestfallen face somewhat reminded the Tang twins of their circ.u.mstance months ago, before finding their daddy. They could somehow understand why she wasn't eager to talk about her daddy.
