Chapter 428 - Little Star Is Such a Bully (2)
"Just like I said, Moyu. You don't really need to stay at Tang Enterprise anymore. We already have Xiao Xing, and it has more potential to grow than your family business. If they so wanted to take control of the company that you've worked hard for a little more than half a year now, maybe you should just leave the company and leave them a surprise before you go. If I were you, I would have left the company a long time ago." Feng Tianyi said, allowing her to drag him into the garden.
By this time, the gardeners were already done with their work and had left. The pond had also been cleaned and the mini-farm, where the little buns planted their crops, had been prepared for the next season.
"I know, Tianyi. It's just that I don't want to be selfish. I know that so many employees rely on Tang Enterprise, but I also know that I will eventually leave the company." Tang Moyu replied.
In fact, she had already discussed this possibility with Gu Yuyao and Lu Tianxin. The two women also voiced their intention to resign from their posts once she decided to leave Tang Enterprise and join Feng Tianyi to run Xiao Xing Diamond Co., together.
Being married to He Lianchen for months now, Gu Yuyao wanted to focus on her family and hoped that she and her husband would have their own little bun soon. On the other hand, Lu Tianxin also wanted to use the time to make preparations for her upcoming marriage to Ye Xiaozu.
This was why they didn't mind if Tang Moyu truly decided to leave Tang Enterprise. They were willing to stick with her until she decided that she had enough. Tang Moyu wasn't willing to hand over the company and her hard work to her mother or to Feng Tianhua, who was obviously using the company to get a hold of her.
If only she could inherit her father's shares without forcing herself to get married.
"What is it?" She heard Feng Tianyi ask when they reached the weeping cherry tree that had just finished being pruned. "I have this feeling that you are in a conundrum these days. You look at me as if trying to see the answers you needed."
Tang Moyu pursed her lips and took a deep breath. She hadn't even noticed that it was starting to get obvious to Feng Tianyi.
"Actually… my father left me some inheritances under my name." She admitted out loud.
"Isn't that a good thing? At least, before he took his last breath, he gave you what you rightfully own, unlike my father." He grumbled in a low voice.
The empress looked at him for a moment and wondered if he forgave his father for everything he had subjected him to and the unfairness he suffered from him.
"Do you still hate him?" She asked curiously.
"No. Not anymore." Feng Tianyi said as he took a seat on the bench near the weeping cherry tree. Although he could work perfectly on his own now, there were times when he felt his leg muscles being sore, especially whenever he attempted to stay on his feet for long hours.
"I understand why you refused to seek revenge to those who wronged you, Moyu." He informed her. "Did you think that it wouldn't be worth it if it might backfire on Baobao and Little Star?"
Tang Moyu nodded and remained standing next to him. She crossed her arms over her c.h.e.s.t and admired the weeping cherry tree. It had survived season after season, and soon, it would be a year since she and her little buns moved here.
"Just like you said… I'm also afraid that I might end up utterly defeated. Revenge… isn't really a good thing. It's only fueled by hatred. It can make you blind and not appreciate what you have at the moment. I don't want that. I also don't want Baobao and Little Star to be left alone in this world just because I've been reckless and impulsive with my choices."
She paused and gave him a shy smile.
"But I think the boldest thing I've done in my life is allowing you to move here and be with you."
Tang Moyu knew that she would deeply regret it if she'd been wrong with her judgment of Qin Jiran. She wouldn't forgive herself if she had allowed a man to get involved with her little buns, only to eventually turn it into an opportunity for her enemies to use it against her. The last thing she wanted was for her little buns to get hurt because of her.
"You don't regret it one bit?" Feng Tianyi arched a brow at her.
"No, at least not now. So please don't give me a reason to regret any of it." She said, almost in a pleading tone, surprising not only Feng Tianyi, but also herself.
Tang Moyu knew that their topic had sidetracked. She wanted to discuss the possibility of marriage with him to get her inheritance. but decided to drop it off.
From the guest house, they heard Song Fengyan's voice calling after Xiao Bao and Little Star.
"Baobao! Little Star! Come here to Uncle Yan! I bought your favorites!"
Tang Moyu released a sigh she didn't know she was holding.
"Say, Tianyi. What's with you and your cousin trying to spoil the twins rotten?" She questioned.
The devil could only laugh at that as they made their way back to the guest house, only to see Song Fengyan looking surprised upon seeing another cute girl standing next to Little Star. Something inside the man stirred upon seeing the girl.
"Oh? We have a cute little dumpling here?" He grinned and knelt down to look at the shy Lan Yunru on her eye level. "Can Uncle know your name, Little Miss?"
"Uncle Yan! Don't scare my Yunyun! You big monster!" Little Star pouted at her Uncle Yan and crossed her little arms over her c.h.e.s.t.
"How can you even bully your favorite uncle? Wuuu… Little Star is now a bully!"
